Ring of Honor (ROH) is a professional wrestling promotion recently acquired by Tony Khan, CEO of AEW, Chief Football Strategy Officer of the Jacksonville Jaguars and GM/Sporting Director of Fulham F.C. The acquisition, which was completed through an entity that is wholly-owned by Tony Khan, included ROH’s extensive video library dating back to 2002, brand assets, intellectual property, production equipment and more.
With more than 20 years of rich wrestling history, ROH has launched the careers of numerous AEW stars, including CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Hangman Page, Dr. Britt Baker, Adam Cole, Samoa Joe, among others. Additional members of the AEW roster have made their mark in ROH, including the late Brodie Lee, The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson), Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, Scorpio Sky, ReDragon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly), Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta), Jay Lethal, Christopher Daniels, Matt Sydal, Mercedes Martinez, Serena Deeb, Frankie Kazarian, Keith Lee, Eddie Kingston, Evil Uno, QT Marshall, Danhausen, Lance Archer, Griff Garrison, Thunder Rosa, Wheeler Yuta, Luchasaurus, Orange Cassidy, Ethan Page, Austin Gunn, PAC, Kip Sabian, John Silver, Alex Reynolds, Jerry Lynn, BJ Whitmer, Ace Steel and Sonjay Dutt.
ROH’s current list of champions includes ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli, ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe, ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta, ROH World Tag Team Champions FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) and ROH Women’s World Champion Mercedes Martinez. Tony Khan’s purchase of ROH signifies a new chapter in the future of professional wrestling as AEW’s meteoric rise continues to draw the youngest-skewing wrestling audience on television. - Sport
kazuchika okada has a distinctive gift of putting a great match against any wrestler.
Ishii is another one.
@SilencedLamb a. WWE has a lot of disappointing wrestlers but also with the schedule they have WWE's not gonna have them kill each other like ROH and New Japan lets their performers do. WWE doesn't have a back up plan or build other wrestlers just in case their big stars get injured. This whole match was Rodrick on offense while Kaz just had to sell and counter most of it. It wasn't until the last 4 Mins or so until he made a comeback and Finally hit the rainmaker! Put Kaz in a WWE main roster ring and he is sure to goof up with some C plus performers as well. Its just shows you how mediocre some of the main roster talent in WWE is. Sure matches on the indies are better, but just because they go 40+ mins doesn't make the match any better. Most of the time it's them pandering to a crowd, locked in a rest hold/submission or on the ground catching their breath. Its the characters they build that and they story of triumph that keep you as a viewer interested. You can preform all the spots in the world in a match but, whats the most important part besides the fans? The finish of the match. You can say AJ had some disappointing matches but he has a character we can all get behind and when he wins you're more likely behind him than against him, heel or face!
@SilencedLamb a. WWE Would Disagree, they have to make that Money. WWE's a business before it's a wrestling show everyone working there knows it.
@SilencedLamb a. Even his most disappointing matches were 3 stars . Guy took both johncena and Brock lesnar to best matches of their careers. And actually got out decent to good match out of mahal corbin etc
@SilencedLamb a. I think that goes down to shit wwe booking if I or u were to book their matches probably those matches would had been classics. Still at least his last match standing with Nakamura no dq were joe tapped and one with Bryan were Bryan win by roll up were pretty good 4*
The field matches look cool...
They have a great oldschool feel to them
All in my wildest dream matches, never mind in my right mind, I never knew Okada and Roderick faced each other in ROH. Strong is a true GOAT for this along with current WWE and NXT stars.
Dude I know right! I never knew these two faced off! My favorite NXT versus my favorite NJPW, and it was such a good match!
He's underrated in the WWE, he's damn good.
Jesus is lord. Repent of your sins, be born again, and turn to him to be saved from Hell! Turn away from all your sins before its too late. I love you and God loves you🙏🏼❤️
@@usagentgaming3079 yes he was and I think he's gone. Not sure, he was in another group for awhile but since Vince got his hands on NXT I rarely watch it, due to his changing it.
ROH was known for putting together some of the greatest dream matches in wrestling history. The only problem was these matches happened years before wrestling fans were screaming for them.
I have been studying wrestling for damn near 40 years. And I have to say Okada is defently in my all time top 10. Make it rain
That's correct
What magic he brings
I really enjoy and love his style its aggressive high impact and so STRONG pun intended
If i ever become a wrestler i would want to learn his psychology in the ring
Of course i fucking love his RAINMAKER
love how they wrestled on a snare drum.
Lol
*4 years later*
Roderick Strong is in the greatest sport's entertainment promotion in the world: *the A Show* NXT. And he's done success with The Undisputed ERA.
Kazuchika Okada wins the New Japan Cup '19 and finally defeats Jay White at G1 Supercard in MSG for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. And this is his 5th reign ladies and gentlemen.
The journey of these men are incredible.
a match on a baseball stadium? that actually looks cool.
I though the same
Ring of Honor could've made this into a Wrestlemania match
Nah fr
I’m pretty sure Royal Rumble 2019 was in a baseball stadium but I could be wrong.
This was my introduction to both of these guys. I'd never watched an ROH show before, never heard of them.
I became a Roderick Strong mark that day.
Okada has been champion for so long that it now counts as throwback Thursday
I feel like this match should have been for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.
Yup
Could have been a good 5* match.
I think it would have made it to obvious Roddy was losing. But it was fantastic.
the problem is roderick strong is no heavyweight
@@antoniobrinkley5928 neither was rey
These Field of Honour tours have some of the most obscure matches that somehow work brilliantly.
Two of the best wrestlers today going at it in a match I’ve never even heard of before.
New Japan's Ace vs ROH's Ace. nice.
And That's Undisputed! 😎
Tana IS the Ace
SKeL GOOAALL he sure fuckin is
Okada was truly on top of his game that year
2017 was his Flair year tho, the Kenny matches, the Ospreay match, dude did most of his best work in 2017.
just awesome ... thanks ROH . peace from france
DUDE, I loved a highlights video of this match but could never find the full version of it. THANK YOU! Two of my favorites and two of the very BEST in the world today.
Please put up Roddys match with Tanahashi in Philly. Such a forgotten classic that needs way more exposure
KingBurkey agreed
Okada is this generation's Ric Flair, but without the substance abuse. He did just what Flair used to do in the territories: make the local wrestler look good and "eke out a hard-fought victory."
This video has a current NXT wrestler facing a current NJPW wrestler while a current NXT announcer calls the match alongside a current NPJW announcer. Ain't that some shit!
Strong is a great wrestler, I love his works. Nothing more to say about Okada, just damn amazing
This match was got damn Spectacular. Simply AMAZING!!!
OKADA OKADA OKADA
Roddy Roddy Roddy!!!
Okada okada okada
Gold match both competitors with amazing talent! ❤⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Roderick "The💪Goat" Strong
The guy in the background wearing green throwing a tantrum when Okada kicked out is hilarious
I love how when they go to the ring they come straight out the dugout.
Bro the fact that all it took was 4 moves for Okada to end it was crazy.
I’ll watch this match later but just a quick thought. It feels like Okada and Naito should appear more for ROH when they can. Gotta keep their popularity growing in the states
Too much exposure diminishes the novelty though
Mark that was true but I think we’re past that by now. Gotta get people invested more and New Japan needs to promote them better.
Bro....how have I never seen this match!? It's like artwork!
You're right I would absolutely love to see it again
I was in Conny Island 2014 and 2016, I start watchin NJPW in 2017..this irony..^^
I mean this is just amazing, honestly this could headline any ppv its that amazing
This match was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Y esta lucha donde lo tenían guardado, gracias por subírlo
What?
Kazuchika Okada aka The Rainmaker has really made Japan proud!
Kevin Kelly gives the WWF Monday Night Raw Vibes back when it first started & thats why i like him on AEW Collison.
This was an awesome match to watch live.
this match was great. Also nice to know kevin kelly and nigel are both on commentary now in AEW
1st time seeing this match. 🔥🔥
Just saw this for the first time. Loved the unique setting and the match was great, extremely well worked from the beginning to the end and like a new japan main event it built and built until the explosive excellent finishing stretch. ****1/4. Great match.
Ibou?!
ibou🤣🤣🤣
spellbinding match. love love loved it
Amazing match. Everyone was happy.
What a match, to bad it wasn't for the iwgp championship
Kazuchika okada legend
This could've been a Ring Of Honor's version of Wrestlemania maybe called it ShowdownMania .
What a match! Roh rocks! Damn!
動画ありがとうございます
In Puerto Rico back in the 70s and 80s, big wrestling shows used to be at baseball stadiums like this one.
2 of the best dropkicks in the game
It's a reason why we see this is wrestling. Ring of Honor always been this way since 2002
Great match, amazing 👍🏾👍🏾
This is awesome classic match here...👍👍🤘🤘
Once you hear that coin drop just know it’s over for you
Great memories
Okada is best in world
Great match
The attendance is actually pretty good for a ROH show in a baseball field
Those shows are always lit. Crowd usually is a good turn out.
This match happened the same night and time, that Sasha and Bayley were putting on they're classic ( in a building not too far from there ) in NYC
Match was lit
The feud with Kenny Omega is what pro wrestling is all about
Overrated
Okada is an all time great Omega is an all time great.those two together is why their matches never dipped below 5 stars
@@Sirrazorbladez = moron.
Amazing match
Yes, i'm here too.
Amazing match wish I was there
Can you please upload the match between Roderick Strong and Jay Lethal at Death Before Dishonor 2015? Awesome match overall. Thanks for the upload!!
Roddy is such an underrated wrestler!
Man, imagine randomly getting this in your suggestions ON CHRISTMAS DAY, not even knowing this existed. BRUHHHH
love outdoor wrestling matches
オカダカズチカ〰️♥️レインメーカーできまり💪
So amazing fight./ its a very good great ! 🙏 おめでとうございます❗️オカダサン‼️👋👍
God bless ROH
Field of Honor 2015 Attendance was 2,000 People
It's time Okada captures the IWGP Heavyweight championship again
16:59. Good to see Kevin James enjoying the action
That final suplex. F***
Shock The System
Fun fact: They had this match on a baseball field.
Watching this while patiently waiting for okada to make his return to the states through the newly formed relationship with aew.
WTF! This Match was amazing. I never knew Roderick strong was that good.
Haven't watched many Okada matches - this has turned me on to him, for sure!
Awww Roderick soo cute❣
Okada is just so damn good
Okada is the best!
K . Okada, u didn't play around with
Him u took care of your business
Champion.🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗😘😘🙄
Bout crapped my pants at that 2.9999999 count!
you dont know for how long i been searching for this match. :)
That was great match 😅 I’m sick they kept letting him reverse Okada finisher so many times but when it hit 💥
Okada is one of the best in the business period
Damn I used to work at this baseball stadium 4 years ago lmao
It is not how much and how hard you can punish. It is how much your opponent can take punishment-and still win.
Okada is unbelievable
Okada must sign with WWE. A lot of people might disagree given how WWE treats great talent but Okada is so big a superstar that WWE might agree to his demands and give him a major push
Such a shame that a lot of people who watch pro wrestling haven't even heard of him or haven't seen much of him
AJ Styles vs Okada or Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar vs Okada will be a dream match at a future WrestleMania event
He may even sign with AEW. His talent needs to reach a wider market
Omega vs Okada or maybe him facing the likes of Danielson/MoxleyCM will be huge
Best for business
Don't go to wwe. Don't you see what happens to Kushida, the longest reigning IWGP Junior Champion
Yea so he can be treated like Nakamura and Kushida
He probably could go their so he could have some great talents to work with, which wouldn't be a bad option but the only issue would be that he would have to get paid a lot of money since he is one of the highest-paid guys for New Japan, anyways.
Elgin vs dijak next
Ive notice Okada doesn't do taht many moves and is usually being beat up.
Holy fuck thats a holy jem
Great match 4 star match
This was a great match okada Vs strong Does ring of honer still invites new japan Superstars to Roh?
A
PRO WRESTLER VS GOD WRESTLER
LEGEND VS GOD
ROH独自でもIWGPヘビー級のタイトル戦をやってほしいわwwww
Honestly I miss Roddy in ROH...
Tanahashi vs Strong please
