The only thing I've found with hole punching is most stems with rings are designed to hold flight tight at the bottom of the flight. By moving it a few mil upwards, it often doesn't clamp the flight as well, so sometimes playing around with different rings/springs helps a lot. But i like punched flights too. Also my tip for essential gadgets is a board level. Would of saved me and my old man loads of arguments back in the day 🤣
That drill idea is perfect. I'll take a drill with me to my next tournament and make sure I'm sharpening darts during crucial throws - that should make for an interesting tournament.
Hi Jack ,
Ive used the punch hole in the flights for a fair few yrs now and find it keeps my flights well in place
all the time , never had a flight come out with this way > the punching the flights .
As for paint on the darts well i scraped the paint away i didnt want on , this after just scrubbing
in warm water with a touch soapy suds, and then scraped off paint not wanted
although takes time , this does the job via an old darts point scraping away the paint from inside grooves on the barrels.
As for Sharpening the darts points well i just use the old sharpening stone as i use now
although your way seen is so much quicker done , as is so much quicker taking paint from the darts . But again re sharpening darts not near as often as i done in yrs gone past re nowadays better wiring on boards not near as many bounce outs with rounded wire and old style fat staples around board in days gone past ..better today are the dart boards with way they are now made ..
Great to have you back!
I use Cosmo flights and storm points, I have same flights for months of use.
Looking forward to seeing your idea mate.
About bloody time mush!
I found with punched flights i got bigger deflections so i prefer without and put up with picking up flights more often.
YES NOW, NEW VID
Welcome back mate
I used to punch my flights.
But I found my Robin Hoods doubled.
A nice smooth carbon stem is the way to go IMO. Holds the flights fine.
But a re-pointer is essential.
I have go away from rings to using nitro tech or vecta stems never have drop outs unless stem damaged
Finally ur back 🤗
I like all of these ideas
Those points straight outta simon whitlocks dart case
Welcome back 🎯
Nice to have you posting again Jack!
real cool video man would really like to know what number 1 is can we have some hints hahaha.
How long to clean it but not remove paint
You don’t want to sharpen points.
You want to rough them up.
Sharpening does very little in terms of minimising bounce outs.
I've heard this yes! My dad only uses emery paper, said he just drags it down the point, nothing else.... he knows what he's talking about, he's 82 and finished 3rd in singles league ha!
Sharpening the points helps with board longevity.
@@TheMajor180 exactly this. Rough points for matches and smooth /sharp for your practice board.
For stubborn points without enough protrusion to be removed with the point remover, vinegar and the ultrasonic cleaner will dissolve the point for removal. Liked this better than using alum and a slow boil. No noticeable effect on the tungsten than alum.
I have an ultrsonic cleaner, had it for ages for cleaning the grime that builds up on the darts. The vinegar idea one interests me so how does that work? An ex of mine used to get some that she diluted down to make up a cleaner so I know there's some vicious stuff out there. It was very good at shift grime as well.
@@richardwales9674 I you tube searched when I had a point with not enough to grab a hold of. The first time this happened, I used alum and heat the first time. Had to use a mug in a pot because that stuff will dissolve/etch the pot. It also etched some of the non tungsten metal in the dart. Still was good though. Vinegar is much slower, no heat required. Little risk of damage to the dart or container. Put it away and wait 30 days. Found the ultra sonic cleaner sped up the vinegar dissolving the steel point and my Barney dart (that I paid way too much for) looked better than the other way.
Nice vid Jack! Can't wait to see the new product!
Where can you buy points with grip like the one at 3:48 wouldn’t mind trying them
They chew boards up for fun, no need for them at all. But any darts shop online sells them
Hi ref. Looking at your board behind you. How is it mounted?
I'd like to know that and does whatever it is make it quieter
I was asking as a new product is coming out soon called the whisper dartboard cabinet
You already made this exact video before showing the same products ???
Watch em both?
he out of ideas and bases his channel on clickbait nothing new
@@bartholomewJsimpson very untrue
@@bartholomewJsimpson I love all he's content.
I don't care my first time seeing it and enjoyed it 👍
Good video. you not got an iron tho?
Send me some of your flights😅
Hang on you say the 1st item is? Then don’t even tell us, thx 😂
HEADS UP, the only one of these I would recommend evening looking at is the dart repointing tool, the rest is not worth looking at..
so, uhhhhh, ya ever gonna tell us what the fuck the first item is?
i use a rivet gun to repoint mine, it works so well and you can get one for 7 quid of amazon
A river gun is only good to remove the point, it offers no safe way to put it back in after.
@@FatOssssss there is i used it for removing and adding points without damaging the points at all
A rivet gun pulls, it does not push.
@@FatOssssss i know, i put the point in the silver attachments which doesn't ruin the points and is thin enough to stop the point from going the whole way through and i put the barrel on the point and hammer. That works perfectly fine for me, point goes in fine and the point doesn't get damaged
Hammering in is not fine at all.
I wish repointers weren't so damn expensive
The mission repoint is relatively cheap mate
First
Is all this a joke??
$50+ for a jewellery cleaner or $2 for a bottle of nail polish remover. I know what id choose to remove paint. Also just soak darts in hot water with some dish soap and give them a scrub with an old toothbrush to clean them and have them feel/look new. This video is a joke.
