Thank you. Even though I like having friends on Facebook I have no idea why they would audio call me since I never met them. I'm a shy person and would rather them just writing a private message and not call.

Be advised, this method you outline does NOT work. In fact a person can even delete the messenger app off their phone entirely, and Facebook still will connect people's video calls.

Not working at best / false fake information to get more views at most. Try doing this and ask someone of your "friends" to call you, the annoying sound will still go through and you will receive a pop up immediately.

It does not. I have done both this, and even deleting the Messenger app altogether, Facebook still connects any calls from anyone who is a "friend" on facebook, unless you manually block each person.

You can individually mute a person or mute just messages or mute calls and messages until you change it. So none of their calls or messages will alert you.

This works to prevent clumsy fingers from mistakenly automatically calling someone else without giving individual permission for Messenger to use your microphone or camera
