@@freddiemercurybulsara3876 Agreed Bro. I was referring to his the first Tamil song was syperhit. That song was for late Chief Minister M.G. Ranachandran (M.G.R). First time he was rejected by Music Director M.S.Viswanathan for his Tamil pronunciation. After a year or so the same music director offered his first Tamil song. Next is history.
Now after listening to this, understand that this man sung this song initially for Maine Pyar Kiya in 1989 and this is about 30 years later and he is still singing it flawlessly.
When he died, the govts of both telugu states mourned his death. I had the pleasure of seeing him live in my town, when some of the famous personalities in my town felicitated him for his music and contribution to telugu states. He is worshipped as an idol here ❤.
His death is a biggest national loss after Lata ji

Let me chip in, Balu Sir is not just a singer, he is an actor, music director, Dubbing artist and many more so the voice modulation and the variations he brings in singing is impeccable ♥️ I am not comparing anyone here as everyone has their own style of delivery songs like Yesudas Sir, Hariharan Sir, they are class apart trained in classical music.. Balu Sir is more like a boy next to the door singing a song imitating us just like our daily lives, which grabs more attention ♥️♥️♥️

Spb is among the best singers of India. Sonu Nigam considers him as one of his gurus. In fact Sonu mentioned that whenever he sings any south indian song, he sings it thinking how Spb would have sung it. Spb also has the ability to sing in various voices, he does mimicry, on the spot improvisations, he is an actor, and has also been a music composer for films. He is also known for his humanitarian work, and for being incredibly humble and kind to everyone around him.
This is a Song from Movie " Mainey Pyaar Kiya " a 1989 released Movie and biggest hit for that decade. The Movie was a Game Changer for Indian Youth and Indian Cinema. Its full of Super Hit songs and it has lots of songs. Most of the male singer songs were sung by SPB. A Must watch Movie

S.p balasubramaniam sang for salman Khan from 1989-995 and even in 1996 movie. His voice for salman Khan in his movies songs are one of reason for salman Khan's Stardom that he got from 1989 and of him became one of the biggest superstar in 90s . They have amazing songs , so react on their songs .
SP Balasubramanyam garu (telugu singer) and Ilaiyaraja garu (tamil composer) are such a legendary singer and composer duo in South India. They did numerous songs together in telugu and tamil, and every song they did is a masterpiece imo. Yeah really every telugu and tamil person has a special place for SP Balasubramanyam and Ilaiyaraja garu in their heart. If you check out the classic songs from 70s to 90s in telugu and tamil, every other song is going to be from SP Balasubramanyam garu and Ilaiyaraja garu duo.
One of the songs of him is 'nanu brovamani' from the film Ramadasu. It is one of the carnatic classical compositions composed and written by Ramadasu aka Kancharla Gopanna in 14th or 15th century like that. There is a live performance of this song on a famous show called "Swarabhishekam', performed by SPB and Sunitha, another great telugu singer.
Also there is a performance by SPB and Chitra called 'Telusa manasa' from the same show. I recommend to check them out. They are really good. Also, Telusa manasa is the telugu version of Tum mile dil khile, both of which composed by MM Keeravani, which might interest you 😀.
PS. The first one is a devotional song so yeah, in case you guys wanted to know.
Finally what I wanted to say is, for SP Balasubramanyam garu, check out his South Indian songs, where he ruled the music. Funny as I was typing this comment, my parents in the living room are watching a film, and an SPB song is playing right now. Such is the legacy of the man.

That's foolish imo, I equally respect SPB and Lataji or Kishore ji. Ofc he is an Indian and I am proud of the fact. For example, Kishore kumar ji has sung the songs in telugu too, would I mention those songs? He had masterpieces in hindi than telugu or tamil and I am proud of that. I myself am a huge fan of Md. Rafi, we play his songs all the time.
The same with this, he had many masterpieces in telugu, kannada and tamil, his main body of work is these languages. I just wanted to introduce them to his better work. Don't misunderstand. And I was just stating the facts. Just like Lata ji was the voice of Bollywood, SPB was the voice of south cinema, he had many classics here. He is a household name here and I don't see anything wrong in mentioning that. I am not degrading anyone or promoting anything, you just need to see it thorough.

This was a movie song, by the way. Another cool part of the singing that may have been missed by non Hindi speakers was that his phrasing was on point too.He was really enacting the lyrics through the song and giving all the feels.

You should explore his most weired yet entertaining ones in all the languages he has sung in. There are many in Tamil Telugu Kannada and Hindi.
As for suggestions for such kind of songs from him and all Indians will give you a long list to go with.
Appriciate your way of enjoying but try to also include south indian language contents and you will find translations for them. Especially the decades ago hit songs. Philosophical ones are best at it for those times. And music heart soothing. You are still missing on sooo many things from south india. I feel like If you enjoyed this songs then you will enjoy them too. 😊

B Subramnaium is one of the finest classical/Playback SIngers we have in our industry , his style is so different but so lavish that its rocking till now in my ears , he is only of his kind , yes he is classicaly trained and hail from Tamil Nadu(South India) but whole India loves him, we still rememeber and play that soothing voice .

This song is from salman khan's (eros now guy) debut movie as lead hero maine pyaar kiya and from there the journey of thus superhit combo started.. As you already know he was the salman khan's voice in starting of salman's career..I know that he has some legendatu and even better songs in south but since I dobt have much knowledge of south and its music, for me I would recognize him througg salman's songs.. Such a melodic voice and so many superhit songs.. I love all the songs from maine pyaar kiya, hum aapke hai kaun etc.. You should check out spb and salman's combo sometimes..

We missed Him.
SPB launched the career of Salman Khan (Eros now dude) with this song in his debut movie. Years later, SPB repeated the same feat for another actor in another industry. SPB launched the career of Bengali superstar Jeet with his song "O Bondhu" in his debut movie "Saathi". That song revived Tollywood and people including non-bengalis flocked to the theatres and even singing this song. SPB went on to become the voice of Jeet in his early days just like he did with Salman giving his voice to numerous movies for Salman and later for Jeet.
