OK.. which one would you pick 🏕? (be honest.. 😜)
I like the hotel mobile the third one. Also, the second one on the car roof would be nice for overlanding. It is a quick set up and with 4x4 car you could go anywhere
I don't think I would get a good night's sleep if I slept in a tent
Tent= Dakar spirit
mobile hotel looks amazing.
Scania and Iveco camper trucks... those are my dream homes :D awesome setup! 🚚🚚
wow, the truckers are living like holywood movie stars
tougher being a great white north trucker than a Dakar participant:(
Except Hollywood movie stars do not drive off-road vehicules through 3000 miles of desert and dunes
They get mobile hospitality suites, the car drivers get cheap tents.
Apparently the bigger your vehicle, the bigger your tent is
bigger companies team have a bigger budget and bigger tents. You have pro driver for the companies teams like Toyota, Audi, Ford, etc. who get pay for there job and private drivers who have to pay for all by them self. Same with motorbikes and trucks.
This channel really gives out great contents for this year's Dakar, so thank you! Who knew van Kasteren has such a personality had he not been featured here.
Homie hiding his beer at 4:14 😂
I don’t blame him, don’t wanna get caught with that in Saudi Arabia
Even though it wasn’t banned when the Dakar was in South America - I really looked forward to the one beer we got with dinner each day.
This was so so cool to watch! I love seeing behind-the-scenes stuff I don't get to see otherwise. I never even thought about this part of the Dakar (sleeping etc).
Redbull cameramen and editors are amazing like the athletes and their teams 👏
need FAR more focus on malle-moto, these guys are INSANE
I was curious about this thanks for showing
I excited everything about Darkar Rally . 😍
Great insight to post race insight 👌🏻😍
Thanks for the behind the scenes look at the bivouac.
The hotel on wheels is pretty awesome.
Glad you liked it!
What a outstanding Event
Wow! That truck hotel for 17 people is beautiful, and maybe quiet. I pick that.
Thanks to all Dakar Rally Management
the motorcycle guys are always the tougher ones :D
not really, the pro drivers who drives for the big companies teams sleep all in campers or this dessert Hotels on wheels. Only the amateur drivers and there crew sleeping in tents. From +/- 400 participants you have maybe 60 (20 cars, 10 trucks, 20 motorbikes, some Quads and Light Prototypes) pro participants, 100 semi pros and the rest are amateurs.
Buena ahi los Chilenos !
Interesting thanks
Thanks for watching!
Awesome
So smart
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Reminds me of burning man.
Electric brush? Does anyone know what he is talking about?
basically, the biggest pockets has the better sleeping accommodations
Comlains for poor cold and for rich V8 engine sound.🤣🤣🤣
Note to self: to qualify an RV for the desert, you need an extra large fuel tank. Then add another one just like it, for peace of mind.
🇿🇦♥️
some in small tent some are like 5 stars hotel...
Depends on the sponsors and the team and in some cases how much the drivers are willing to pay…
Someone should tell that last guy that earplugs and manual toothbrushes exist.
What kind of tents are those on the ground there? I wanna get one.
Decathlon Quechua
En ese camión pueden dormir en el ático hasta siete palomos
How does this work, is this just a stop along the way? How do the support people arrive at the check point as quickly as the contestants?
The service route is typically shorter and in some cases the service vehicles leave earlier than the racers!
@@3guk Thanks so much for this info. Makes sense!
@@upstairsdave no worries !! I worked on a team for quite a few years so have a little bit of experience !
so the bikers are not only having a tough time when they're on the bike but also in their off time? 😅
there is no difference in the vehicle classes. The pro teams sleep in the campers, the amateurs in the tents. The big pro teams who will win the race have a much bigger budget like the little amateurs who only want to arrive at the finish line.
Beats the days when we would go off racing and sleep under the pick-up truck.
Who is first?🇸🇮🇸🇮🇸🇮🇸🇮🇸🇮🇸🇮🇸🇮🇸🇮
You are our champion!!!!!!!!!
A look into how the drivers and riders in the Dakar Rally hiw they rest and sleep
Electric toothbrush in the Dakar? Come on!
Complete opposite to when I was serving in the British Army (Light Role Infantry) and some of the guys would take a tooth brush, cut the handle in half and then hollow out the remainder to ‘save weight’. How much, couple of grams? Could lose the same from my gut by avoiding that last Chicken McNugget….
anyone who is not doing malle moto, is not doing dakar. these guys are just rich tourists playing with expensive toys.
Let them have their fun.
What is an electric brush? lol shaving kit?
I think he meant toothbrush, in Czech it is just called "small brush" = kartáček
@@BlackHe4rtQueen ahh yes that makes much more sense. Also something that I would not want to go without for an extended period haha
The Dakar is sleeping near your vehicle in a tent, nothing more nothing less.
I'm literally watching a video right now that disputes your assessment.
maybe 30 years ago, now you have a lot of rich kids who playing with expensive toys and maybe 20% pro companies team and 10% private amateur teams.
@@muratti72muc You are so right 😞
I would prefer just a mosquito net.
but mosquitos need still water to multiplying... but in the desert, there is almost no water... so i guess no mosquitos there? and no mosquito net needed... or? 😉

The truckers have it easy!
Typical of bikers to spend nothing on camping gear. A Exped or Hilleberg tent would be up in seconds and protect you rather than those disposable K-Mart beach tents.
Are you talking about the first tents? Because if you are, you know nothing about camping. 😂
Those are Quechua 2 Seconds, Decathlon's most famous tents, called that way because you open them by throwing them.
You’ll see so many of these decathlon tents at the rally, they are perfect, super quick and fine for the few hours of sleep you get each night. It’s also important to realize that the first guy is Malle Moto - which means he does everything himself and is completely unsupported except for the ASO transporting his parts, tools and belongings between each bivouac.
This race is way to far from Dakar’s spirit. Just call it Aramco race !
These biker's should be sleeping in a massive tent with AC on full blast!
But it's freezing cold at night 🥶
What money can do folks
More minutes video progressed more luxurious their camps become 😂
Looks horrible
