I remember when I first got my Australian Shepherd puppy. I came home from high school, a week before graduation. And I was so stressed about not knowing what to do for a career. Then when I entered through the door, I see a very small, three month old puppy struggling to walk towards me because he had a small body which long legs lol. I picked him up, sat down on the couch, he began licking my face, and I called him Lucky. He is not Three years old. Love him

it's for a reason they are herding dogs you dont want a cow grabbing them by the tail and throw them around or step on them they get docked for a reason
I wish all breeders kept there tails! It seems so mean to cut them off :(
i just did a vlog of my aussie adoption. he doesn't have the docked tail either! i love their tails they are the cutest.

It’s illegal to dock tails in Ireland 🇮🇪 I don’t understand how it’s still an accepted practise elsewhere 😕
Many Aussie’s have naturally docked tails and it’s perfectly normal.
I have 6 Aussies Moose, Mishka, April, Bear, Bodee, and Dunkin
Breeders often chop off the tails when they’re a day old or so because they break very easily. My Aussie doesn’t have a tail and her wiggle butt is the cutest frickin thing. Whenever she gets excited or happy, her entire back half practically wiggles and its adorable
this is how many people want one of those Aussie pups.
I’m 12 and my mini Australian shepherd is so incredible he is my best friend and people ask why I love dogs more then people and I tell them because dogs do not care if u have something wrong with you whether u have one arm or leg or your paralyzed if your face is messed up what ever it is they still love u and we look at people wired if they have a disability the way u look and the way u are is the way god made u and he doesn’t judge you he loves u. Dogs are better then people and the more people I meet the more I want my dog. ❤️🐶👍🏻

Cait Fox no both is wrong sometime dog are born with no tails. Also they do it because it is a herding breed and if a cow steps on it tail the dog will be crying til there no tomorrow.

My husband and I were given an Australian shepherd as a wedding present, best gift ever. He was our best and longest living dog, he was 17 when he passed. Both my kids have awesome memories of growing up with Zeke.

Omg I got an ad for dog food with Australian shepherds
11 years ago I adopted a skinny sick dog from the pound. It was something about his eyes that got me. I took him home and gave him a bath, it was like unwrapping a present. Beautiful white main and red coat. Smart and sweet I thought I had a mutt. One day I was walking down the street and saw man with a dog that looked just like mine. He said she is a pure bred Aussie. Huh? I looked up the breed and yes my dog is an Aussie. He is 14 years old now still spunky and beautiful. Aussies are the best! I am hooked.

Joshua Stephen Hester Same here. I adopted and his tail was already docked when I recieved him.
The breeders were probable owners of a show dog and you are required to do that in order to be a show dog and the one you got could have been great quality. Usually means no tail.
Mine doesn't have one so he just shakes his butt around but it's cute
It’s better if the tails are docked because they heard cows and if a cow stood on their tails it would kinda hurt rlly badly but some now a days are born without long tails because of all the generations of the Aussies getting their tails docked.
Sometimes they dock border collie tails but not as much since sheep weigh less than cows.

Most aussies have a naturally docked tail it’s not the breeders most of the time. My Aussie was born with a docked tail, and her puppies all have docked tails NATURALLY
Not true. Only 1 and five are born with a naturally bobbed tail.
Natural bobtail is a mutation. The breeder knows if his dogs have it or not. I would never buy from a breeder that has natural bobtail or mutilates the tails. I have two aussies and a poodle all with full tails and very thankful I took the time to search for them.

Does that mean dogs with bobbed tails are bad to you?? Because if so I take great offense from that because my dog was born without a tail and he is perfect and beautiful the way he is. Hes also living in a happy home. A dog of a breed having differences from another dog of that same breed doesnt make one superior over the other.

There are dog and cat breeds that are born for people with allergies, for example, a Sphynx cat, a Basenji. There are a lot of dog breeds out there that are hypoallergenic.

An Aussie is my dream puppy and ever since I was four I wanted a dog, but I haven’t gotten one and here I am in seventh grade🥺💖 everyone who owns a dog just know how lucky you are to have one in your life and not to take it for granted
Don’t worry though I’m sure on day you will get a dogs since I wanted one so bad and one day my parents suprised me
I remember when I first got my Aussie, it was my birthday and my family were all gathered together, and right as I was about to blow out my candles I hear “awww a puppy” and I looked up confused and saw my dad with a puppy in his arms. I was so happy that I started to cry because my parents or other family members were always busy so I was almost always alone, and I knew I wasn’t going to be so alone anymore. At first it took him a while to get used to me, but now when I come back from school he waits by the door and jumps on me while shaking his butt 💗(he doesn’t have a tail :( but I couldn’t love him any less) That was when he was 4 months now he’s turning 1 on August 31st 😢

2 years ago, I got two Australian Shepherds for my birthday. They are called Nutmeg and Duke and they are almost 2.5 years old. They are extremely fluffy and their tail fur is so long. The only sad thing is that Duke has anxiety so I can’t have many friends over. They are so much fun and they always make my day better, no matter what.

When I got my Aussie I didn’t realize that she didn’t have a tail (I thought it was natural) and when my parents told me that it wasn’t, I was so upset so thanks for keeping their tails
I remember when my 2 mini aussies were 2 months old and so tiny now they’re 7 months old and are just so much smarter and playful and happy the list goes on and on. I love aussies
