  • Another traditional routine, its origins lost in folklore. Our motley crew, lost in the Spooky Forest while searching for Snow White, decide to sit on a convenient bench (as one does) and sing a song to keep their spirits up. They are chased off one at a time by a ghost.
Cue for corny jokes and endless repetition, which the kids love. Enthusiastic audience participation is essential. Part of the appeal lies in the predictable ending and the chance to feel superior to those clueless "heroes" on stage. All the backstage crew join in with the actions. Panto is great fun to do, and harder than it looks to do well.
Jester Jo King's Harlequin-style costume is a tribute to the 18th Century Commedia Dell'Arte performers who coined the term "pantomime" (their first shows in Britain had no dialogue because the French actors knew little English) and evolved much of the knockabout comedy, still going strong.
Cast: Prince Zac - Kate Salmon; Nanny Nottalottalady - Rob Stevens; Jo King - Hannah Brockley; Jay - Margaret Farrell; Kay - Andy Heath; Ghost - Ali McBain.
    Musical Director - Deryl Lewis.
Set designed by Keith Evans, painted by Keith and Sam La Roche; entrance arches by Dave Roberts.

The only way I could do that was if you had to do a lot more work and then you would be done by yourself so you would
