This video follows a group of woodworkers as they work on framing the walls of a home construction project. They carefully measure and mark the locations for bolting down the pressure-treated bottom plates, ensuring the walls will be level and plumb. The team discusses techniques like overdrilling the bolt holes to make installation easier. They use a laser level to find the average height across the walls and determine the optimal stud length. Overall, it provides an informative look at the meticulous process of framing a house from the ground up.

Its heart-warming that Jamie can talk about his hand around others in a light-hearted, humorous way. The doctor-support team (nurses, tecs, specialists) never get paid enough. Most of them do it because of their dedication to their fellow citizens. Its humbling to witness how people overcome their handicaps.

Most jobs our company does call for Hilti/Simpson anchor bolts that allow you to just hammer drill into the concrete and start the layout wherever it's convenient. So we don't use double bottom plates unless the gypcrete is tall enough to interfere with hanging dry-wall, which doesn't typically happen on a concrete floor.

It’s nice to see you guys building headers this way because last place I built had boxed headers filled with insulation just like you guys did here and like I’ve always done it in the past. The building inspector walked through everything and said it’s all perfect except last minute as he walks out asked what’s in between the headers. I explained and he asked if there’s any blocking connecting both sides nailed together on both sides of the 2x10 or is it just hollow with insulation. I said no it’s hollow, he didn’t like that. After standing around scratching our heads with him on an easy way to fix it… which there really isn’t, he let it go and said next time add blocks and nail from each side to make it a “solid member” even though it was nailed top and bottom. Can’t really argue with an inspector can only work with them
