    He didn’t need to score 30 to be the best player of the game. Only player that could play all 5 positions well. He controlled the game and simply knew how to win…. And winning is all that matters

      Why

      @bananaman5668 Před měsícem

      @@GoldenTakes Because the way he dominated the game is definitely the best way any player no matter how much better they were individually ever could.
      I think he had the scoring talent to average 30 if he wanted to but was just that unselfish of a player who centered his game around making his teammates and his team overall just better.
      He’s arguably the greatest offensive player of all time in a sport that has been undeniably driven by offense throughout it’s history while playing at the position that is supposed to be the most heavily involved in the offense and represented that role so perfectly that he was labeled a “True Point Guard” from day one despite being 6’9!!
      He was definitely the best leader of any of players ranked in the top ten. And he arguably influenced the game more than any of them did too.
      If I was starting my own franchise or building a championship team around one player it would have to be him.

      I think he had areas where he was limited at in terms of offense and also him on defense he was definitely limited I see your point but ion think he could’ve averaged 30 cause when he averaged is career high which I think is 22 just his playstyle at that time isn’t going to maintain 30+ a season

      @@GoldenTakes his career high is 24 on 16 FGAs per game in 87.
      Name a single season anyone averaged 30PPG on less than 18 FGAs per game?
      You can’t.
      In fact the average 30PPG scorer literally takes as many FGAs as Magic scored points in 87 while taking 10 FTAs too.
      More Scoring requires more Volume.
      There are a lot more players in the league who can actually average 30 while having the green light to do so than what the stat sheet says. Most of them don’t try to because of their natural play style or their team.
      Maybe Magic couldn’t have done it while still averaging 12 assists. But he almost certainly could’ve done it if he actually tried.

      @bananaman5668 I know his FG attempts was low it’s low because his offense was limited he wasn’t going to be able to score that many field goals as people in todays game can or people who was just better offensively skilled than him at that time. But I’m not disagreeing with you I’m just saying if he’s your goat thats cool but his limitations on defense and offense is why he’s not for me
