This video is an experimental study on the cell of a primary hypochlorite aluminum battery, they are tested here: lead, copper and graphite electrodes.
In view of the realization of a prototype of a primary battery capable of generating strong currents, the results are encouraging!
The use of materials subjected to particular treatments has led to results
    unexpected.
The cell is basically a kind of flow battery, you consume the electrolyte first and much later the aluminum electrode.
Once the spent electrolyte is emptied and replaced with a new electrolyte, the battery starts again.
If interested in the topic, subscribe to the channel and leave your likes, and do not miss this playlist, soon I will publish here a video with an unprecedented procedure including technical details for the realization of flexible and highly conductive graphite sheets, like the one used for the realization of the graphite electrode in this video

A very interesting study. I studied the issue of the use of hypochlorite and aluminum for the production of electricity outside the house. Solar panels cannot always be used. I used foil, since its surface is great for sufficient current strength. As another electrode, I used stainless steel or titanium. The element voltage was 1.8-2 V without load. Try to use noble metal or inert metal. Perhaps a thin layer of platinum applied to a polymer film with a large surface. I also believe that you can use a large concentration of hypochlorite.

Coated lead dioxide just means he torched a sheet of lead till it was black with carbon....

It isn't rechargeable. It works better if you use a cathode of a metal oxide or salt mixed into pressed graphite. Bleach is doing more or less the same thing as NaOH since it has a lot of NaOH in it to stabilize the NaOCl. What you want would be to have the anode donate the oxygen to react with the aluminum but make the electrolyte as unreactive as possible with the aluminum because the hydrogen made quenches the voltage output. An aluminum/manganese dioxide-graphite in propylene carbonate will generate a bit over 2.8V.

Add carbon too system too store power....I took one piece off charcoal put foil around it soaked in salt it gave off power for weeks...not even charged...the power was low but the principle is there

try adding a little hydrochloric acid to the reaction volume and see what happens to the voltage

It is not advisable to do so, because the pH of the electrolyte would become acidic and the consequence would be the production of chlorine

@@claudiohomelab8181could you put 3 or 4 different positive electrodes in series with one negative and get more voltage.

Reaction products are aluminum oxides and hydrates and also aluminates, which are formed on the aluminum electrode and then precipitate to the bottom
