To clarify, that graph he looked at. It splitting can be good or bad, but it is always bad. The blue line is always above or on par with the yellow because the blue is the inflation, and if you notice, every time the inflation rate matches up with the wages line, inflation increases again. And that graph didn't have up to 2024. You see there from 1970-1990 that big jump. That was from an inflation of only 10% from 75-85. But from 2020-2023, there's been an inflation of 18%
almost like the rich pushed a narrative on covid using social media in order for it to happen
well most of the time the two lines affect one another, if you have a low cost of living there is no point to pay high minimum wage, and the moment minimum wage increases, the cost of living is going to go up because then companies have to take more money out of their pockets to pay employees, which in turn will have their prices increase to cover that lost revenue.

But yeah I mean cost of living correlate to inflation. Which is why I couldnt believe all the economists defending the whole 10 year min wage thing, like if we double the wages of everyone, companies will have to raises prices to be able to pay their employees, so cost of living just will increase, and kinda like what we saw in the first 2 years it's not really equal, its actually less beneficial because in year one wages would increase 10% just like they would for the next 9 years. But prices jumped like 25% almost immediately that year. So actually for most of the last 3 years the increase in cost of living has been higher than the wage increases.
@@brownmuta7537That’s the problem, the cost of living and inflation has far outpaced the amount minimum wage has been raised. Keeping it the same is bad for ordinary citizens while the effect of companies potentially needing to raise their prices will still have competition of the market in play. Something definitely needs to be done because people are losing their homes at a record rate - thankfully I’m in a great position but yeah it sucks for a lot of people
@@tobymacdonald5893 ohh yeah i know that man. I lost my job in December because if those automotive strikes that were going on. (The company I worked for heat treated the steel car parts). And prices sure arent comin down any. Also before in 2020 I was working at a small discount store. They did the best they could, they even did 5% raises every 6 months to try and help the workers (instead of the 10% yearly raise all businesses are doing), I was stocking shelves when we start jacking prices. I mean literally everything in the store increased by atleast 25% that year, and for most of the stuff 50%..but the crazier part is the shrinkflation, im not gonna say prices cause I dont remember. But I'm restocking bottles of Dawn dish soap, the tag (the store tag with the skew on it) said 21.6 oz bottle of soap. The boxes I was pulling these bottles out of and the new price tag I was putting on the shelf were labeled for 20 oz bottles of soap. The bottles I was taking out of the boxes and stocking the shelves with were 19.6 oz bottles. And the prices still went up by 15% I think if I'm remembering correctly. So not only did the prices increase, they also just steadily lower the amount you get in the product.

It's NOT just about American propaganda. A lot of Brazilian immigrants go to EUA to farm money and send back to Brazil, the conversion is really good, 1 Dollar is 5 Reais. I worked in a real state agent and was interesting to see how many Brazilians farm money in EUA and buy 200k apartments in Brazil. So yeah, there are a lot of problems in America, but still better than Brazil...

Someone coming to the US has more opportunities than they do back home plus there is more stability that most of the places they come from lack. Personally though I think that the dream they are sold isn’t completely true. The big opportunities and wealth gains that they expect really only happen to people who can get legal status and have some type of trade they can exploit. It’s really tough if you have no skills to commoditize and don’t have rights and opportunities that come with having papers. You need really one or both. And if you have both of them and work hard you can make a lot of money off lazy people

@@GiRR007 I saw not completely true because it’s real easy to make money if you have skills carpentry, automotive, plumbing, electrical, ridding out sewers etc. there is a lot of work especially just small individual work that people need done around their houses where you can make good money and I mean good money. Under the table or over. The dream is just for people who expect to find opportunities but don’t have anyway to do it. Auto motive for example you got guys who can fully rebuild stuff and come here and it’s just parts swapping for more money. Edit I listed a lot of physical labor stuff but I don’t just mean any type of manual labor though. And even when I say skills you need to put effort and pursue no different than anyone else in the US

Failure to report his crossing legally, he probably went to mexico legally and then failed to report him coming back, if he would've gotten in the country and he comits a crime or the law is looking for him it will say he is still in Mexico. they need to know where you are at all times, not exactly, but definitely in what country
you have to go through a legal port of entry so they can check your documents, make sure you're not smuggling shit, etc etc

If you think raising minimum wage will do anything you are wrong. Its inflation and high taxation. If you increase minimum wage businesses that are already hurting from inflation will now have to give employees less hours to survive.

Punishing success is definitely not the goal, or it shouldn’t be. We do need more regulations on the tax code though - say corporations are unable to sell in the American market unless they pay the applicable (fair) taxes. I doubt that would happen due to lobbying but it’s one solution.
