Garthar village is holy because it is the birthplace of the 11th Dalai lama Khesdrup Gyatso. As well as the Palace of 7th Dalai Lama Kelzang Gyatso is also found here.

Thanks for showing these rare and sacred places in Tibet. I don't know, why China has a very brutal policy in U Tsang area of Tibet because when we see these area of Tibet, it looks like they have enough freedom of religion. Hopefully more Chinese Han people will support for a genuine autonomy for all of Tibet. We want to live with everyone peacefully including the Chinese. Tibet was an independent country but HH the Dalai Lama's middleway approach is the best way for both China and Tibet.
