Nindiyari by Pt. Kumar Gandharva

A ragini that arose from the creative imagination of Kumarji. Tracing the origins of Raag in folk tunes was one of his lifelong endeavours. The germ of this raag lies in a few selected lullabies that he had come across. No wonder he chose to name it Nindiyari. Using both the madhyams, this can be said to belong to the Kalyan family, yet still retains its unique identity. Indeed, Kumarji presented this as a part of his 'Kalyan ke Prakaar' concert. The lyrics are -
आजारे आजा पिया घर मोरे
नाम तेरो निसदिन ललन उचारे ||
बाबुल बाबुल करत हो रे पूछत तोहे
नाम तेरो निसदिन ललन उचारे ||

It's not Bhanutai. As far as my limited knowledge goes, that person on Tanpura is Meera Rao.

@@devanshphadke I think all the confusion has arisen because of the picture. The pic has nothing to do with the concert. It is from the personal collection of Shri Mukund Padhye. He also graciously admitted that he doesn't know the original photographer. He gave me the pic because (to the best of our knowledge) this is the only pic available of Smt Meera Rao accompanying Kumarji.

Thanks for this gem Sir. Do you have complete 'Kalyan ke Prakar' concert'? The audio of the one avalable on utube has a lot of hissing which I couldn't get rid of.
