This is probably the best Yaman. The aura (mahaul) he creates by careful treatment of the right surr at the very precise moment is so dangerously skillful.
Every evening I am in the habit of learning this yaman Kalyan since one month and will be contd till my life.I never heard this heavenly melodious and devotional vocal which is a path to contact with GOD
What a wonderful melodious voice! I have not heard any other male singer presenting such mesmerising music deleanating the nuances of ragas.
Indeed a Gandharv....wish I could have touched his lotus feets.....but can feel him through his music... couldn't separate him & the shades and moods of this earth n nature .
Right u r . BTW I used to sit near his feet at his Dewas residence. , kumar ji used to love me , his and my guru of " samadhi through sangit " is one and same " Yogiraj Harkare ji . !" * Dr Ishwar chandra karkare
Dev tulya gaan. Pranaam
If artist doesn't go with name and fame then the purity of his music become more sweet ,what music he produce, how melodies come as the waves, how the platform act and support him , the accompaning artists play major role to create the environment. I never saw him but after birth I found that I am continuously founding someone 18 years later I found myself that he is Kumar ji. It is a best example that everyone has perfect sure behind him.
Absolute genius! This piece never gets old (as with so many of Kumarji's renditions).
This is a true masterpiece. See the use of Theka to create the khatkas and meends . Absolute genius.
In his opening remarks at a concert in Delhi a few years before he passed away , Pandit Kumar Gandharva said that he proposed to sing the Raag Kalyan and not the Raaga called Kalyan of which he said there were several allotropic forms. Kalyan he said was the feeling in the Raga and this could be produced in a variety of ways through manipulating the scales!
That is nothing but a Kalyan Siddhi !
What an extraordinary rendition! Pranaams to one of the greatest and most creative musician of India, Pandit Kumar Gandharva _/\_

Thank you.
Divine... No other words... 🙏🙏🙏
He could add so much emotions... Just wonderful...
Pranaam 🙏 to Great Pt. Kumar Gandharva
Genius is beautiful. Profound. Sublime. Everything comes to a standstill. Time stands still. Timeless. Forever.
God! This is an other worldly rendition of Yaman. He sang it in this world by mistake.
Thanks to ChatGPT, I have found a rough translation. Please let me know if it can be enhanced or if it strays from the actual meaning. Thank you.
**(Vilambit Jhumbra Taal Gwalior Traditional Bandish)**
**banare balaiyaaM IooMgee aaja suhaaga kee raata navelaa bara paayaa**
*In the hushed cadence of ghungroos, a mystical beckoning: "Come, as the tapestry of celebration unfurls, and the celestial moment descends like petals of divine fragrance, adorned with the sacred Mangal Sutra-a cosmic thread weaving the eternal dance of our intertwined destinies."*
**chaMdra badana para nipaTa kee lochana chamakata IariyaaM banaa banee ke mukha taMbola biree aaja suhaaga kee raata navelaa bara paayaa**
*A visage bathed in the moon's ethereal glow, eyes aglow with the cosmic ballet of Nakshatras, intricately adorned with sindoor's sacred hue-a living hymn to conjugal sanctity. A countenance, a veena of allure, a verse of grace. Come forth, for the night of celebration unveils its sacred embrace, resonating with the celestial raga of Radha and Krishna's timeless dance of devotion-the cosmic crescendo of love's eternal melody.*
**peeyaravaa aavo tuma hama mila layasurakee mahimaa gaaveM I**
*Premika (Beloved), draw near; let our union compose the celestial symphony, a melodic tapestry woven with the sacred threads of Ardhanarishwara's divine dance-the harmonious embrace of masculine and feminine energies, a cosmic pas de deux of divine love unfolding in celestial spheres.*
**layasura soonaa shoka tuma bina naa bhaaye kaise mahimaa gaave II**
*As the raga of love serenades away the shadows of sorrow, akin to the dawn dispelling cosmic shadows, the hymn of divine union whispers its essence incomplete without you, my Anamika (beloved), embodying the sacred dance of Ardhanarishwara-a cosmic dance where the divine union transcends time and echoes through eternity.*
This rendition endeavors to intensify the poetic tapestry with more vivid and evocative language, while embracing the profound symbolism of the Ardhanarishwara's divine dance and the eternal melody of Radha and Krishna's love. If you have further preferences or specific themes to emphasize, please share them, and I'll refine the expression accordingly. -ChatGPT

Hello! Mr. WAN Many many thanks to share this composition, it is heart warming to listen KUMAR Ji.....
47:55 Blissful experience ❤
Yes, Kumarji used to call this Kalyan. There is one rendering of Kalyan which he has sung with Kalapini, shorter than this but equally engaging. This one defies description! Thanks very much.
Classic in Classical Music !!!!
Extraordinary. Masterclass.
This is gold
SIMPLY AWESOME ......GLIDING WITH SWARAS....
Simply fantastic! the freshness infused is amazing in this age old paramparik bandish found in Bhatkhandejis treatise! it is Mukha Tambola (Vida Pan) .
I have heard it 3 times already!!
Shouldn't forget he was afflicted with lung health problems and had to modify his style with use of shorter phrases to express n explore the magic
His one lungs was removed
How serene and peaceful !!Out of this world !!🙏🙏🙏
Vilakshan...!! Apratim...!!!! Alaukik....!!! Shabdon kee seema se pare...!!!

This is, I believe, Raag Yaman, and not Yaman Kalyan, as there is only the tivra Madhyam, and no Shuddh Madhyam. :-) but who cares really? :-) it's gorgeous. I think Kumarji just called it Kalyan. :-)
at 20:37 there is a small trace of shuddh madhyam.
c I️ love your attentiveness! :-)
He was God,s special child.

Exquisite ! Can anyone know during which period it was performed. Viewing youngness of his voice perhaps it was not later than mid-sixties.
When I am on my death bead, please play this for me.
Better be played on the wedding day :)
Panditji should have beeb awarded BHARAT RATNA.IT IS A GREAT SHAME ALL OF US INCLUDING GOI
Panditji is not singing. Yaman Kalyan is singing 😊
Its beautiful. Any idea which in language are the lyrics and the meaning?
It is a description of a bride on her wedding day.
Yaman and yaman kalyan are same?
anuraglfc4lyf Yaman has only one Madhyam (Teevra) whereas Yaman Kalyan also sparingly uses the Shuddha Madhyam. :-) some school also don’t even bother differentiating them as the core rasa remains intact.
It is kalyan versus yaman kalyan. Kalyan uses the pure notes whereas the yaman kalyan uses both the madhyamam in the avarohan only i.e while coming down. Kumarji uses it in many places. Example @ 20:36, @26:25. IN all these places Kumarji uses the shuddha madhyam while traversing from the Tivra Madhyam to Gandhar just gracing the suddha madhyam; gives a behag effect in all these places with the usage of both the madhyams almost simultaneously.
Indeed a superior man and a fabulous rendition
Does anyone know who the young female accompanying singer is?
vb dnadoc Vasundhara Komakali, his wife.
lyrics please what are the बोल of this Bandish
Could someone kindly please translate the vilambit bandish transliterated above? :) I would be ever so grateful! :)
Though a little late, here you go
It is the narrative of a bride who is going to get married.
Banu Re Balaiya... Navela Var Paya ( Am going to get married today, today I got a husband.)
Chandra Badan... ( Describes the Shrngaar she has done for the occasion.
.... mukh taambul ( I will give him a vida - Betel leaf).
Hope that helps😄..
