  • Oysters have the worst texture! It's like chewing on a big loogie that squirts in your mouth. Dad thinks they taste better than he expected, but Mom couldn't even swallow it.
Eat Street is the spot to eat when your in Brisbane, Australia. Our friends took us for a night out and it was the blast. Eat Street is full of storage containers that have been converted into restaurants, eateries, and dessert shops. It is such a fun, upbeat, happenin' atmosphere. There are so many varieties of food and desserts to choose from. Mom chose sliders and potato skins and Dad got Raclette, just like at the Paris Christmas Market.
There were so many dessert options, that we had to choose two. We got some fancy ice cream on a cronut cube. The ice cream was delicious, but the cronut tasted more like bread. The donuts that were made on the spot were absolutely delicious. They tasted like churros and were gooey and tasted amazing.

During the day, the boys also enjoyed going to the beach. It was a fun day!

Love to see you folks getting out and about in this beautiful part of the world. I am a Brissie boy myself. I am absolutely certain you would enjoy the Bribie Butterfly house and the Abbey Medieval Festival as well. So many things to do here - really is a great place to live

Before they had the fancy name Macadamias they were simply called Queensland nuts ,Native to Qld & northern NSW.

Yeah we had them growing wild on both my grandparents farms on the gold coast hinterland

We used to call them Bush nuts or Queensland bush nuts. I remember buying brown paper bags full of them from the green grocer. Breaking them open was learned skill… just the right amount of applied hammer blow. They were so fresh eaten that way. We now buy big jars of nut butter from our local grower. Yum.

@@VideosCPSmy misses uses macadamia wood in her smokers. The smoked chicken wings are delicious with a real nutty after flavour. The cockatoos love them when they are green . As a kid I remember watching them crack the shells in their beaks. I've been very cautious of their bite every since. We used to use dad's vice to crack them 😁 or also there was a little divit in our concrete path that we'd sit them in and give them a good tap with a claw hammer. Gotta love Qld nuts. Sounds like they bring back good memories for you too Mate 😀

At our home Christmas without plates of fresh oysters on the shell would not be Christmas. My son is the only family member who will not touch them. You are best to start with a cooked version then graduate to fresh. Something like Oyster Kilpatrick is a good one for beginners.

Nonsense! Oysters natural with a little squeeze of lemon juice, are divine. If I had to make a last meal on earth choice, it would be a dozen oyster naturelle, followed by a dozen king prawns, all served on a bed of ice with triangles of brown bread and butter. Bliss!

Yeah, weird title. Australia is part of the western world. I guess they either don't know, or think it'll drum up more views by making it seem as if there is some massive cultural gap they are surmounting.
These videos started appearing in my CZcams recommendations recently and it just gives me a weird vibe.
I want to give them the benefit of the doubt but I've seen a bunch of channels like this before which are basically just American missionaries in various countries with very little self awareness. This looks like more of the same.
