When I lived in Hamtramck, back in the 1980s, you had to travel down to the far end of Joseph Campeau (the main street in town) to reach the Middle Eastern neighborhood. I rented an upper flat on Holbrook, right across the street from the Kowalski sausage company. That company sign lit up my window at night. I wandered all over that city. Help wanted signs in the shop windows read "must speak Polish." Old guys cutting the tiny lawns in their front yards using a pair of scissors. The big, old Catholic church was a block away. Smelling fresh bread baking from the bakeries, after stepping outside at night. I'd enjoy eating a good meal at the "Under the eagle" restaurant, served by waitresses, each dressed in traditional attire. Hamtramck was a "15 minute city" before the term was ever used. It does not matter to me who is in charge of the government in Hamtramck today. I like to imagine life there is very much like it was 40 years ago.

Guys, honestly I do not believe that this people in this town will be extemists. I saw a few video about live in this Michigan town and it seems that people are fully integrated into American culture, but also with their local traditions, including religion.
