And what most of you don't know, Versa's always held more value than Sentra' and Altima.

For the average person, since they can't get the CVT on the base S trim, this is going to be a just under $20K car. Which still is quite good for this messed up Day & Age. So, # 1 biggest Pro is going to be price. Another Content Creator took a serious look at the engine bay and underneath the car. # 2 Pro is that it's going to be easy for a mechanic to work on. And, # 3 is that it doesn't look like a Penalty Box from the outside. It has got some surprisingly nice styling. As for the inside, well; you do have that center stack that doesn't remotely interfere with visibility. Unlike most cars nowadays costing significantly more money that seem to have a tablet partially bolted onto the dash that sticks up far too much! So, that's Pro # 4. Naturally aspirated engine is definitely a Pro too, # 5. Shouldn't be too difficult to get financing. Very inexpensive new cars have that advantage # 6. Finally # 7 is that such cars are usually affordable to insure.
Unfortunately, this car has two big issues:
1 ~ While the engine is reliable, the Jatco CVT does not have a great reputation for reliability. Get the CVT flushed once every 20,000 - 25,000 miles and the Versa should last you easily 100,000 miles.
2 ~ As honestly mentioned in the video, yes it's slow! That'll be a deal-breaker for some. Completely understandable. But your other options are, buy used and hope the car you bought is reliable. Or, pay thousands of dollars more for a faster car. Overall though, the Versa is a good one if you're on a very tight budget. Have a job. Need to get there on-time, but Public Transportation in your area is a joke.

I checked the dealerships in a 50 mile radius of Orlando, the starting price for the S model is over $18,000 for the manual vehicle. That’s with out taxes, title, dealer prep or destination charges. So I don’t know where you can find one starting at $16,200.

In 1994 I purchased a new Honda Civics Ex. It had a naturally aspartate I-4. It also made about 125hp. Ironically the MSRP for that top trim was 16.090.
Nice job Nissan. As usual Fantastic review GP.

I own a 2022 Nissan Versa S automatic. Here are the pros & cons I've experienced.
    PROS:
    Price.
Insane amount of safety features for a base model.
    Fun to drive.
    35 mpg.
    Hill assist. (Automatic & manual)
60/40 folding rear seats. Automatic only. May not come standard in any models past 2022?
    Relatively inexpensive to repair.
    Huge trunk.
    Versa's from 2020 & up look great!
You can turn off any annoying features. (Lane departure, collision warning, auto headlights)
    CONS:
Jatco CVT transmission. Cue dramatic music. (Automatic only)
Does not come with center console. After market available for $50 on a site that starts with A.
    No folding rear seats. (Manual)
Base model sits very low to the ground. If you have problems getting in & out of a Corvette you'll have problems here too.
    No oil/temperature gauge.

I just priced one yesterday. Once you add tax, title, doc fees, destination fee, etc., etc., the car's final sale price rises from $16,665 to almost $20,000, for the manual transmission base model. And to get that, I have to go one state over, because my state's dealerships are marking it up $2000+, for the base with manual transmission. So if i buy it, i have to fly to another state and drive the car back home 700 miles. Not sure it's worth it. I'm buying cash, paid in full and they don't like it. I don't understand. Since when is cash not king. They want me to finance. It's out of hand. It's a corrupt business,

@cliffdariff74 more like why get the automatic...the auto is a cheap peice of junk jatco cvt transmission that is notorius to have failure at as little as 15k miles .In a Manual you can choose at which revs you want to shift leading to better mpg plus you get 10-15 percent more power since automatics result in some power loss and most importantly its actually RELIABLE!!!!!

Hello from south east Asia. I'm driving the 3 row version of this car with an almost exact machine and 3 pedals since 2007. I only change the clutch once. The latest Nissan CVT from jatco is much improved in terms of reliability but it doesn't mean maintenance free. Manual transmission are the way to avoid hassle in the future. I hope Nissan USA will provide 5 speed manual for the Versa and 6 speed one for the Sentra on the sportier trim
