    We've just started weaning so this is really helpful. I had been wondering what to do if the worse was to happen.

    these videos are a great idea thank you !! I am so paranoid about choking with my 2 year old shes had 2 main choking episodes the first was with a cyclone icy pole she wanted to taste mine when she was about
    1.5 years old she took the whole top off and got it stuck in her throat her lips went blue and she started gargling and gagging then she collapsed to the floor i put her on my lap face down and hit her back but it didnt work too well as the icy pole was watery and melting but not enough it was so scary we went to the hospital that evening to have her lungs checked out she ended up being okay but ill never be too careful !
    the 2nd one she was playing with one of those magnetic boards it had magnetic stamps she was sitting right next to me and she stuck one in her mouth it got stuck in her airway and i had to bang her back to get it out now we have removed anything deemed as a choking hazard in the house you can never be too careful

    At what age do you change the way you stop a child from choking? My child is 4 and he choked on cereal. I tried this way but I don't know if it helped him. It came out along with alot of gunk and sicky stuff. But I really don't know if it was me or he did it himself. Same goes with CPR... at what age do you change from using two fingers to both hands? Can't find the info anywhere! Many thanks ♡

    I might be a tad over he top as I still cut grapes for 7 and 10 yr old children 😲 I absolutely hated weaning my children it was the worst stage of development for me. I was so scared of them choking and it still.makes me quite anxious now xx

    Can I ask would you do this for a 2 year old or slightly older or just for a baby?

    • @latashasherod8468
      @latashasherod8468 Před 5 lety

      twinklez1985 you should kneel behind the child and place your left arm under theirs and across their chest to the right arm. Bend them forward and perform 5back blows(between shoulder blades). Stand them up and then perform 5abdominal thrust by making a fist and placing the thumb over the belly button. Continue this until the child is able to breath
      If at any point a person is coughing encourage them to continue to cough.
      Also with the infant their should be consistent protection of the head!

    Don't the babies get a bruise while doing that?

  • @ppyli
    @ppyli Před 5 lety

    She was hitting the waist and not between the shoulder blades, that should've been said!
