    Lansinoh has new/improved baggies now. They're sealed all the way around and so super thick and as a mom with OVER production issues (previously I would pump 90+oz per day) I have not once had one leak. They are by far the best ones I've used and they freeze fully flat. Not the most accurate oz measurements but only off by like .25 oz. AWESOME video though! Two thumbs up!!!

    You have to open the bottom of the Kiinde bag before you pump into them and freeze them. Only then will the bag be perfectly accurate, measuring wise. A lot of people don’t know that. It is entirely worth the Kiinde system! Will save you SO much hassle.

    Lansinoh has a new and improved bag and it has a seal down both sides. Amazon still has the old bags. I buy my bags at Walmart and they have never leaked.

      I️ like lansinoh bags as well.... they lay very flat, no leak. The tag is facing away from you but that’s ok. It depends how you store them. I️ did start out using the Madela bags but they were too bulky for my storage space. I️ don’t have a deep freezer so I️ needed to store it in the freezer ... so lansinoh it is.

    You did an amazing job with this review! As a first time mommy I really appreciate the details in how you tested everything out. I also appreciate you trying to get through everything quickly. One thing that would be helpful in your future reviews is to show the product while you introduce it or at lease put text on the video. With so many products it's sometimes hard to remember which one you're talking about.
    Side note: Since you posted the review lat year, I believe Lansinoh improved their bag by double sealing the side seams. I haven't tried them yet but I'm wondering if they really are better now.
    Thanks!!!

I'm going to have an updated review very soon(:

    I use the Kiinde system and I love it. I combat the inaccurate measurements buy weighing them on a food scale. I measured and empty bag (.2oz on my scale) and I subtract that from each bag when I weigh them after pumping. I find it more accurate than a bottle itself since I have a hard time telling with my eye in my medela bottles

  • @liz4921r
    @liz4921r Před 8 lety +3

    I've found the Kiinde bags are accurate once you pull the bag apart. With all the bags I've used this was a necessity. But I have not tried nearly as many as you so maybe this isn't normal!

    great video n I totally agree with your dislike for lansinoh bags. with my first baby I didn't do any research on breast milk bags and I just assumed they would work. I was so wrong every time I opened my freezer they would come flying out and if they hit the floor I could almost count on them bursting. so then I had to put them in a Ziploc bag and mark that it fell so when I went to un-thaw it I wouldn't loose all the milk. It was frustrating but I had so much milk that it didnt affect my baby but for women that have a harder time producing milk I think that would be very disappointing

    Wow this video is AWESOME! I'm about to be feeding baby number two and with my first I never gave the bags I used a second though. I used the lansinoh bags and had so many leaking issues, which even as an over producer was still really upsetting! I couldn't imagine the frustration had I REALLY needed every last drop. I think I'll be giving the 2 you suggested for over supply a try. Thanks so much for your work and dedication on this video!

    second time watching this video since I am in search for a bag other than medela... I do not overproduction whatsoever so I am thinking of taking your advice on the Avent bags and I do like how they lay a little flatter, however the pour spout on Ameda is so tempting! I always get scared I'll spill the milk! nuk is tempting for the price point and how flat it stores but I'm just so scared of my milk leaking from the bag because of the lack of side/bottom seals.

    • @MommaAlia
      @MommaAlia  Před 8 lety

      +haiiTaylor Thanks for watching! All things considered, I'd go with the Avent. I'd say that all the bags are as easy to pour from as the Ameda spout. If you have a hard time with it, try using your flange as a funnel for the bottle(:

    I noticed you mentioned Walmart a lot and I kind of expected a review on their parents choice bags. have you used those before? I buy them because of the great price. they are most comparable to targets up &up bags as far as thickness and shape... but I have yet to actually thaw any that I have frozen. I donate over 200 oz per week and most are in the parents choice bags. just curious if they are durable and thaw well?

    I love your videos and trust your advice hands down. I am curious though if you still use the lansinoh bags? I have read that they have changed (since you made this video) and now they leak and aren't as good. Are you still currently using them? And if so, do you still think they are the best brand to go with (If not, what do you use now)? I am getting the lansinoh smartpump, so it would be way more convenient to use the same brand for my milk saving bags.

    • @MommaAlia

      Thanks momma! I actually am using the Lansinoh bags the majority of the time. I think since they redesigned them, they leak far less actually! No bag will be perfect and I can buy those in bulk without it being too costly.

    I haven't given birth yet so I'm obviously not pumping at the moment - but just as a reference - why does it matter if the bag doesn't give an accurate total of ounces, if your writing the ounces on the bag anyways? That might be a stupid question but it's just something that I've always wondered but never asked lol
    GREAT VIDEO !!!

    • @MommaAlia
      @MommaAlia  Před 9 lety +2

      Nope, that's not a stupid question!(: but I know some women who fill to the measurements in the bag, so what they think maybe 5 oz, really isn't. Personally I measure in a bottle, then pour into the bag but I know some women don't(:

    • @MommaAlia
      @MommaAlia  Před 8 lety

      The only reason I didn't judge the bags on this is because you can use the flange (or "cone") piece of your flange to help you out when pouring milk into the bags. Kind of like a funnel! They're all relatively easy to pour from except the Purity. Since it is a stiffer material, sometimes it's a little hard to pour from.

    Hello how are you? I wanted to know am I doing something wrong. I'm 11 weeks PP and I usually get 5oz every time I pump and more in the middle of the night. But lately I notice a decrease in my right boob. I only been getting 1-2oz during the day when I pump every 3 hours and at night I pump every 4 hours and I get more like 3 and a half in my right boob. I did notice when I was drinking mothers milk tea I was doing fine then I recently stopped and that's when I noticed the decrease. Can you give me any advice. Also right now I have been taking lataction plus from the honest company for 4 days now and still haven't seen a increase yet.

    • @MommaAlia
      @MommaAlia  Před 9 lety +1

      Your supply may be regulating, as it normally does around that time. I would keep pumping every 2-3 hours around the clock and pump for about 5-10 minutes after you empty. Make sure your flanges are sized correctly. It's not normally recommended to take supplements before 12 weeks but if you saw increase with any, keep taking that. Hope that helps!

    Hello Maam, I would like to ask if the nuk milk bags you’ve bought has already an opened teated off seal? Because I got mine online but the two tear off seals are teared up already. Please help..

    • @MommaAlia
      @MommaAlia  Před 4 lety

      I’ve never had that happened and it’s definitely not okay! The seal on them should never be broken because it’s to signify the bag is sterile. I would contact whoever you bought them from and also NUK themselves!

    first time breast feeding , so I'm sorry for the question, but once the milk is frozen how do you warm the milk into the bottle ( i have a bottle warmer)

    • @haiiTaylor
      @haiiTaylor Před 8 lety +1

      what I do is thaw the bag either in the refrigerator a day ahead of time or in cold running water in the sink (either set the bag in a small bowl and allow the water to continuously run until thawed or hold it under the faucet yourself). then once it is thawed in the bag I transfer it to a bottle and then refrigerate, and warm it in the bottle warmer when I am ready to use it.

    • @haiiTaylor
      @haiiTaylor Před 8 lety +1

      also a tip, it you have a flange that is removable from your connector, you can use it for a funnel to transfer your milk from bottle to bag or bag to bottle, so when you are pouring it you don't have to worry as much about spills.

    • @MommaAlia
      @MommaAlia  Před 8 lety

      +lizbethmari3 I either quick thaw or thaw over night in my fridge. I go over my whole routine in my EP// How I Use My Freezer Stash video! You can find that here: czcams.com/video/uPH-WVRVzpw/video.html

    • @MommaAlia
      @MommaAlia  Před 9 lety

      I go over all the details in my Exclusively Pumping // Getting Started video. But at first I wasn't good at pumping, because I had little knowledge of EPing. Then I started pumping every 3 hours around the clock, even at night. I did that until about 8 months. There's lots of other things that go into making sure you're making as much as you can tho, but that's how I got my supply(:

    nuk breastmilk storage bags seem to have a weaker seal. I'm worried it will leak while it's freezing. I will return it as it has a yellowish color and smells somewhat of plastic. :( But the thickness is awesome. I like lansinoh so far. I've only tried 2 bags but I really want to try honeysuckle.

    • @MommaAlia
      @MommaAlia  Před 7 lety +1

      You mean the milk is a yellow color after thawing? If that's the case, that's normal(: It's just separated fat from your milk! So glad you're finding what works for you!

    • @MommaAlia
      @MommaAlia  Před 7 lety +1

      +Savanna Krakauskas The new, re-designed bags are much better! But if you're scared just be sure to thaw the bags inside a bigger ziploc bag that way you can use any milk that may leak still🙂

    • @MommaAlia
      @MommaAlia  Před 7 lety

      I would say I still feel the same except for the Lansinoh, Honeysuckle and Kiinde. Apparently Kiinde has redone their bags to be more accurate so my opinion may change on those (I haven't gotten to them yet). Lansinoh redesigned their bags and I really like them. I personally have had only one leak and with them being on $10 for 100 count on Amazon they are the best bulk buy right now. The Honeysuckle also launched new bags shortly after this video but have since paused selling them? Their website says that they plan to relaunch but I'm not sure what that is all about. I'm testing as many as I can get my hands on right now. But time and money are big factors(:
