      @@pienapple6969 they are a developing country, so the modern definition applies. They are not a part of any 1st world or 2nd world alliance, so the classical definition also applies. Is Columbia industrialized, have political and economic stability, and have high levels of human health? But to your point, I do not see these guys as being too far removed from lumberjacks. Although I seriously doubt that OSHA would be happy to see someone wading through boric acid in their bare feet. Borax is also banned in Europe, because there are concerns it might effect reproductive health. But when jobs are scarce, and people have little political power, then you end up with workers being compromised. Objectively Columbia is a Third World country. However Columbia, Chile, and Argentina are among the top Third World countries in South America. Often people living in metropolitan areas of America look down on people living in rural areas. I do not think that is the same objective standard we are applying here.

Bamboo fabric impregnated with water activated ceramic cut into strips and woven together to form panels that can be attached to a aluminium frame then soaked with water and then cures rock solid has the ceramic fabric dries? What do you think about this idea?

    You can pump treatment into the poles with about 20 psi in less than an hour. I've been cutting and treating my own for a couple months, However I just found after treating and drying for a month, a few days after the first rain I'm seeing mold. That tells me the treatment is not working. I figured this would have a 5 year life outside if above ground level. It looks now like it still wont last a year.

    I love bamboo. There are better ways of cutting bamboo than with a machete which is very labor-intensive compared to chainsaws and other types of hand saws which would give you a cleaner cut.

    • @jimhood1202
      @jimhood1202 Před rokem +2

      You are correct, but the cost of a chainsaw compared to a man with a machete is not worth the investment. Hand saws are useful when the poles are closer together and access to swing a machete is tight but the plantation these guys have is pretty mature and the culms are a comfortable distance apart.

      Because of course you know better than the pros themselves! Right? Allow me to educate you: a chainsaw isn't the right tool to fell bamboo because the chain will get pinched...plus you can't control the fall of a bamboo like you can when felling a tree...generally speaking a chainsaw isn't super practical when dealing with bamboos and can be very dangerous.

    • @LeChristEstRoi
      @LeChristEstRoi Před rokem

      @Jeanette Requintin Indonesians, Vietnamese...can afford a chainsaw (there are truck load of vids on youtube of forest workers, peasants...from there using chainsaws...) so I guess most south american workers also can, or at the very least their boss can lend them chainsaws...anyway that's not the point, the issue is that a chainsaw isn't the right tool to fell bamboo because the chain will get pinched...also you can't control the fall of the bamboo...generally speaking a chainsaw isn't super practical when dealing with bamboos, and it can be very dangerous. So when we want to cut down bamboos we use handsaw (for smaller bamboos) or machete.

    Bamboos in the Philippines are tougher to harvest, a bush of bamboo can have up to 100 bamboos in it, twigs have thorns and build up at the trunk of the bamboos 7 feet high. Only the skilled bamboo cutter can harvest them only with a machete. Prepare to have a lot of scars if you do it on your own.

    • @goerizal1

      @matias: you are right because the bamboos you have experience with are clumpers with those thorns. the bamboos in the videos are runner type of a different specie easier to approach and cut down. one ting the video failed to mention is the durability and longevity of the processed bamboos in tropical areas with the unavoidable termites.

We were so surprised and disappointed. Now we cut the bamboo with carbide tipped reciprocating saw. Bamboo is one tough customer.

My stupid bestfriend failed to buy a sander and purchased doors for his new house and sanded them all by hand. He has had two elbow surgeries on each arm, they are ruined over a $70.00 sander he didnt want to buy and he never asked to borrow either. So yes. Holtzfarma chinese company makes very good copies of stihl and husquevarna. At a third of the cost.
