    Whether I travel for one week or 11 months (longest so far) I carry the same stuff all in a 40L pack. Either a Kelty Redwing or Osprey pack. I simply do laundry.

    Great video. I can wear pants for 3 days easily if I don't spill anything on them and alternate them. So I need more shirts than pants. Secondly if you hand wash I'd suggest 3 sets of clothes as some items may take longer than overnight to dry. If you practice handwashing at home, you could find items that may dry overnight. I like how your pouches are about the same width has you pack, keeps everything from shifting around. You big red bag is similar to a dry bag I bought; it was my first non-round bottom bag, they are great for fitting flat into bags like yours.

    Good to see your Carryology project really taking off. I think we met at Shot Show when you were first getting started. Here's a tip on the laundry bag: I used a lightweight dry bag. That way I can do my laundry in the bag and not in the hotel sink. It's easier to agitate and makes less of a mess. I use the Sea to Summit bags. Bonus - it's a dry bag so it can double down to keep your gear/clothing dry in a downpour.

      Howdy! Dude, great suggestion! Literally 2 hours before I left for the airport on my Iceland trip last week, I ran to REI to snag a lightweight STS drybag. All thanks to your comment. Killer suggestion and thank you!

    I stress on cleanliness & try my best to smell good. Along the way, I do my own laundry. Over packing can be stressful. So far, I have survived a 6-month trip to the Balkan with an old check in Eagle Creek that has been with me for over 10 years.

    I love this! I am a new subscriber! Im going to check out your pouches video next!!
    I’m going to DC soon to celebrate a friend’s birthday, sightsee, and visit museums for a long weekend (4.5 days) and am planning to pack similarly (change of clothes to mix and match, LBD, extra pair of flat sandals that take up no room and I always wear a denim jacket when traveling with inner pockets). I do pack twice your amount of toiletries -and, I have a mini flat iron 😂 (5 3/4” long: 1” wide with cord wrapped around it) but am excited about carrying everything I need in just a backpack.
    My train doesn’t leave until 4:00 in the afternoon on my last day there, so after checking out of the hotel that morning, I’ll be like a little turtle the rest of the day-but know I can totally pack light enough and still feel stylish, pretty (I know not a concern for the guys 😂) and at the same time be totally functional. I will also pack a crossbody purse (it has a cable imbedded in the strap to prevent theft) as my “edc” when I’m in museums since several won’t allow big backpacks.
    I don’t have camera gear but I’m an artist and will bring my planner, sketchbook, and pouch with travel watercolor kit.
    P.S. I’m not sure I have room for a travel bird 🐦 but will definitely consider it 😂 hmm…maybe if I leave out the flat iron…?? 🤣

    On one of my 16 day trips to Europe, the best thing that I had was a jacket with a lot of pockets. At the time, I was wearing some random jacket (from Port Authority I think) I got from work that had a HUGE pocket on the inside of the jacket that I stuffed all of the pamphlets and little souvenirs I got. I don't know that the situation is with the jacket shown but having lots of pockets in a jacket is good to have. Plus I like to keep my passport on my person at all times.

    Wow eh I didn’t know nitize made those pouches in larger sizes.
    I had this over thinking on pouches & packing cubes, like dyneema made ones that was eyeing on Etsy… grabbed instead some MEC travel light pouches which everything fit into very nicely so kept them.
    Got eagle creek cubes from online retailer that would have returned thou wouldn’t have made $ense too.
    Would really recommend folks getting these types of items from a store that can easily return them back if don’t fit need after testing them out!
    Got a sweet Eastpak backpack that is two sided which find great as don’t really need even cubes :-/buyers regret on cubes
    I love merino!
    Will pack more thou totally love rocking just a backpack.
    Got trip planned to Portugal then Spain and England back to Canada and booked most flights on Ryanair… they’ve got very tight dimensions ! One personal item that is like 25L.
    I didn’t want to gamble with fees as my backpack is bigger, pack won’t be full.
    But like the space to be able if get “souvenirs”. Rather not be stressed cramming stuff and I’m minimal just not same shirt n pants type of guy!
    I could totally taken smaller pack yet why when traveling to places not visited before if I see something cool rather have the space to pack it. I guess could add option if that happens with bag allowance to booked flight just another thing to take care of. When doing multiple places, flights, having a few days in each I want to be able to just enjoy it not fuss over those details! I got cheaper central accommodation so paying upfront for personal item & carry-on 10kg backpack made sense to me.
    I don’t know if people get away with a bigger dimensions…it seems if it fits should be ok so maybe for next trip might get away with not.
    Oh my long story sharing 🤭😆
    I’m soo exited!
    Traveling is amazing!
    I’m so lucky that manage to maintain comfort lifestyle & save to explore the world 🙏🏽🍀❤️ Thanks for sharing ☀️

      @MichailDimDrakomathioulakis Před 3 lety +1

      @@CarryologyTV Yes, that’s a big issue I quite often face in flights within Europe, or between Europe and Asia: the carry-on luggage has a maximum weight of usually 8kg (in some low cost airlines a bit less, in some others may be up to 10kg), and specific maximum dimensions; some airlines were allowing a second “personal object” carrying-on (such as a laptop bag), but with the COVID-19 pandemic a lot have cut this and allow only one carry-on.
      Sometimes these weight rules become silly...

      8 countries and two photo assignments requiring long range for fast moving objects; Isle Of Man TT races (200+mph) and the Downhill Cheese Rolling Races. 200mm is minimum, I actually had a 300mm with me for that trip... all 8 countries! Honestly wished I had 400mm! 😱

    Interested to know, how does it work talking a gas lighter in your carry on? I'm pretty sure we wouldn't be allowed out of UK or any of the other places I fly to and from

    • @CarryologyTV
      @CarryologyTV  Před 3 lety +1

      I’ve flown in and out of the UK maybe a dozen times with a lighter. Maybe 25 other countries. Once in Japan they X-rayed my bag, asked to see the lighter (it’s in a waterproof case) - I showed it to them like “look it’s only this” and they confusingly let me keep going.

      Thanks for your feedback! Keep in mind, this video isn't about the bag itself... but what is packed inside the bag, which I show up close to the camera. Stay tuned for a "pouches" video, which will be shot from above, as these items are much smaller and need more detail :)
