Her whimpers are what get me
Nessie her face is what set me off
What gets me is how this is a father holding his child, having to watch her suffer before death.
And that look between tommy and Joel, hows he’s also just watching this.
Hurts man ;-;
The dad's voice acting is what got me..Especially around when he says "Oh god" whilst hugging her
Yes
@@I_am16 Troy Baker is so good. Strange to think he was some cute nerd in Tales from the Borderlands (which, again, is a great game).
everybody gangsta till they hit 10 minutes into playing the last of us

YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!!!
Your god damn right...
Freaking correct
Wiser words have never been said

And when I thought just Sarah getting shot couldn't get worse you had to pull this shit out, Thanks.
Day after his birthday
Day After his birthday
@@TheTwiggyLad still
Didn’t they say that his birthday was outbreak day. And outbreak day was the day Sarah died.
The actress who played Sarah was thinking about her Grandfather that had passed away while filming this scene to put herself into that emotional and vulnerable part. All details are in the grounded documentary
Damn
Yeah, saw that already
Yowch. F for respect for her grandpa
Holy heck, that is talent
I also heard that this one scene took over 12 hours to shoot.
What people never comment on is that what truly makes this game great is.....the voice acting
Finally someone says it... Lets be real if the voice acting wasnt good it wouldnt be as heart wrenching to watch... By far the best thing in the game
that and the music man this game gets me a lot beacause of the music
Troy Baker had a stunning performance in this game. He will forever be a legend
Troy Baker is a legend in the industry.
This whole thing broke Troy Baker. I saw an interview where he said that after they shot it he just bawled for a little while and so did everybody else in the room. Then the next day he was called and was told that they had to do it all over again
The most hard thing is that I watch Sarah died 10 times this is really sad
LMAO
U made me laugh u bastard
DZ GAMER The hardest part of this was watching her mouth stretched open throughout it @ 2:15

What really sends shivers down my spine is Sarahs voice acting during the scene. Sounds so desperate and afraid and pained until it just... stops
Her last breath is barely audible but it’s so well done. The voice actors were amazing!
There’s no coming back from multiple stomach wounds like that. What gets me is how quickly she goes from living, to shot and in agony and fear, to dead, within the span of less than a minute.
I'm a grown man and that made me cry. Not afraid to say that either, that shit was sad

@@resarious6225 Damn it, I haven't cried yet 😐

The fact they made these characters reactions so realistic to how actual people like these would react makes this ten times sadder
ViaVia.. its mo cap, the acting is pretty much 1 to 1 from stage to game, but yeah, very well written and executed scene
@@paradigmdashed the actors bodies were mocap'd but at the time ND didn't have face mocap working (that started in uncharted 4) so animators still had to animate the faces manually using the mocap videos as reference
Well the first that uses mocap was beyond two souls
You can see her hands go limp
The actor who plays Joel (Troy Baker) was in wrecks everytime he had to do this scene because Neil Druckman (the director) wasnt satisfied with how the scene looked, Troy tried one where he was screaming, one where he was downright sobbing, the look on Troy's face when he had to reset the mocap was heartbreaking.
Saddest part is when she dies hearing doesn't go away immediately so she could hear Joel saying "Dont do this to me baby" and be able to comprehend that she has died before her body completely shuts down.
@Christobanistan I know, so seeing this part knowing that makes it even worse 😭
This makes this scene hit ten times harder
Her soul left her body
I was a brand new father when this game came out and I had to stop playing it right there. I've only ever seen the whole game via lets plays because that scene killed me.

So true
MY GOD the more I watch this, the more I cry!! So fucking realistic. She died in such pain that she wasn't able to say goodbye to her dad. She died in father's arms.. THAT is fucked up. @Above average Peen Jeremy Thanks for your amazing comment.

Troy Baker though. Oh man. The dude's barely had 5 mins of screen time by this point and he still manages to rip your guts out with that performance.
The voice actress did an amazing job of conveying anguish, pain and fear.
Its just the intro of the game and they already got us crying
A little bit of bonus facts on this scene: This was a very emotional scene for many of the cast and crew. One of the sound designers had to leave after recording it to take a break to calm down because he was starting to tear up. Worse for Troy Baker and Hanna Hayes after they thought they wrapped up the voice acting and mo-cap, Niel Druckmann approached them and asked to re-do the shoot. Troy was not happy about it and asked Druckmann if he was serious and if they really needed to do it again only to be answered affirmatively. After that re-shoot Baker became angry at Druckmann for a few days for making him re-do it, electing only to speak with him when he needed to in the studio.
They must be really shitty then because it's not even fucking real and that's their profession. If that's true then that's just sad.

Well it does suck but also this, even if it may not seem far back, was a time when there were games coming out left and right and tons of it wasn't so closely tied to monetization and micro transactions and online multiplayer, and yes I'm fully aware of this game's multiplayer but that felt more like just appealing to people who wanted it then actually having it be its own entity, but now we're looking at games that require more work and has DLC, pay to win(s), political and social climate, sensitivity and backlash everywhere, and a lot more like RDR2 for example it took them over 6 years to make a sequel and people got made over a video of a dude for killing a suffragette, which you have the option to kill almost everyone else so it's not like she was a specific target it's more like free game like everyone else, and graphics with newer engines and better scripts and stories are few and far between with games like fortnite gaining fame and popularity. It's all just bullshit overworked and underwhelming bullshit that you pay too much for most of the time

That's so sad, but from the military's standpoint, it's so real. I mean, think about it. As a soldier and a human being, he is charged with ensuring that the infection cannot spread under any circumstance. And since they don't know how long the infection can be in a person before they "turn", they could be infected for all he knew, and he can't take that chance, lest it spread and infect more people. It sucks, yeah, but sometimes the good of all is worth the sacrifice of a few. Even if one is a little girl.

The Feels man! Playing this game the first time after launch, was such an intense experience.
When i started it and saw Sarah, i was kinda confused, cause i didn't know Joel even has a daughter. The Promotion was all about Joel and Ellie, and nowhere was a mention of Sarah. Despite that I definitely got weepy from this scene. I wasn't shocked or surprised at all like most of these streamers, but it didn't matter. So effective, Troy Baker and the cinematic artists are masters. Anyone know what kind of gun shot would would kill someone that fast? Just the heart? If 3 really big rounds went into your lungs would you die that fast? I don't think blood loss would kill anyone that quickly unless your body got sawed in half or something.
