In Black Cats this part starts when your Catalina lands on the sea in an attempt to defend what's left of the fleet and rescue as many survivors as possible, it really hits the spot when you notice that the beat also becomes slower and heavier indicating that : you are no longer the hunter, you're being hunted now
I like to think that it reflects the engines powering down to slow the plane
Yeah its very accurate, your hunter friend ( PBY catalina) fall and you with your rifle ( black cat) trying to deffend your friend ( catalina)

Something I never realized until NOW is how the ship sirens are actually part of the soundtrack.. Not from INGAME thats just great design.
Honestly one of the biggest gems in Call of Duty history that was the final real world portrayal of war before it spun into futuristic fantasies and the battle royale stuffs.
Before Black Ops, Cold War, Modern Warfare, Ghosts, and Warzone
I personally think that Black Ops also did a good job at that but World At War was just the absolute king with showing how war actually is.
Activision be like. Before Warzone, Vanguard, Remakes and all that kind of shit, Activision is one hard ass who doesn't give a crap about your soft feelings.
Black Ops portrayed the Vietnam War in a few levels and in my opinion did a good job at it
Cod Infinite was good though
What I love about this game is that it was never story driven nor had inspiration from Hollywood films, it throws you into the horrors of ww2 with a protagonist that's just an ordinary soldier who's being ordered to take out the PT boats and rescue other soldiers while being ordered by other soldiers, the music was very intense and helped immerse you into it and I love it
COD: WaW is very Nietzchean in its presentation. All grit and vitality, no place for morality. Only sheer willpower. The messaging is all about surviving and overcoming a titanic struggle, the men within it defined and given meaning by that struggle. Very powerful. Probably the best COD narratively.

Arguably the best mission in the game, soundtrack for this mission really makes it tense especially when your playing on veteran.
It's the only Mission I beat on Veteran.

Yep like a you’re on a Japanese ship over run by zombies and you have to use the AA or MG on to defend against them then you take to the air but the ship’s heading to the main land so you have to sink it while under attack by something on the ship

The siren stresses you out like in the movie Dunkirk when the Allies soldiers would hear the German fighter close in on their position, it would strike fear and anxiety. "Am I gonna get hit?" "When is it gonna happen?"
Just sells you how this soundtrack is timeless, and you my friend did a great job on this remix.
Also, imagine a WaW custom map with a black cat used as an intro (four players, four seats, it would be perfect)
Now we just need it in VR with this blasting while we get surrounded by zeros
Personally I like the moving round the plane seeing the inside and watching bullets rip through the hull of the plane it what separates from just a regular turret section switching positions and different view but the music would make 4p thing epic

I would fucking love a War Thunder custom mission that is Black Cats adapted to it.
Two PBY Catalina's, merchant ships, a whole lot of gunboats, then Zeroes coming to strafe at you (how will you survive these 20mm cannon rounds? i don't know there), having to survive until a massive squad of F4U Corsairs arrive.
With you being able to take control of the Catalina and the gunners, I would fucking love that. And don't forget the BGM, is a MUST for it.
Tried to take out pt boats in war thunder once with the pby, its possible but deam took to many bullets
Willing to bet the PT boats in WaW are the T-14 or T-25 PT boats. T-14s only had a 13.2mm gun and torps. Can’t really find a lot of data on the T-25.
The thing with that would be that the PBY in W@W is rigged with a 30MM cannon. There were no actual variants of the Cat with that cannon present. I’d imagine it’ll be a lot harder to sink things without that.
@@DangerIncFilms in WaW the Catalina had a 20mm cannon. And real life Catalinas did, in fact, have a 20mm cannon on the nose xd

Waw has had a very measurable impact on my life it started with me at 9 (I think) not knowing what the Soviet union was or that it was part of ww2 that led me to having a great interest in military history witch led to a fascination with guns I keep both of these things as hobbies to this day and i have waw to thank for all of it

Always liked this soundtrack ever since I’ve first played the mission, it’s very catchy and used to give me a feeling of wanting to run. Been jamming to this remix for some time now.

World at War is a lot more brutal and filled with gore. For example, if you shot an enemy with a shotgun at his legs, it would blow one or both of them off, or when you shot an enemy with the PTRS-41 at the head, it would completely destroy it. Activision would just remove the gore and brutality of the game, which was something that made it unique. The games ability to just go "fuck your feelings, this is war" is something that devs are too scared to replicate in this day and age, which is a shame considering that's how its meant to be done.
I'm from future i'm here to tell you that in 2023 CoD WaW remastered will be launched .... shit! They discovered me... i need to go!!!
It's backwards compatible, I don't think it needs a remaster at this point, it's got good enough graphics, even to this day, and the atmosphere is perfect with it's art style.

to this day i still cant understand how the autocannons can sink those ships so fast, let alone damage them
Personally I think that the ship sank because of how it was carrying a ton of explosives that caused most of the damage. Also I might have not been well armored because it was trying to pass as a merchant ship. I agree with you that a black cat plane would be unable to sink a normal vessel as quickly. But it could also be that the ship sank easily in order to make it not drag on.
Well to be fair, they were shooting it from above and the armor would likely be more thin there, plus from what i can see, they put gasoline tank and ammunition stockpile just underneath it, you know why kido butai carrier got sunk quickly? Well its because majority of the damage came from the detonation of their own ammo and fueled aircrafts hanging below from just ONE lucky dive bomb on american attack on kaga carrier. The ships probably did not expect PBY raid during the night as well.
Also the pby are also equipped with torpedoes and sometimes dept charges
They’re also called submarine hunters because they’re also made to counter u bouts in the Atlantic. There also made for reconnaissance, patrol bombing, and rescuing people in enemy waters which you do in the missions
