You've used Madden as a great tool for breaking down the West Coast/Coryell system. The fact Coryell has been overlooked by the Hall of Fame for so many years is, in my opinion, one of the NFL's most glaring omissions.

"Here he finally solves the cover 2 riddle!" Oh man, that was too funny! The way you said that, it was like he just unlocked the mysteries of the universe! Lmao
I'm curious to see what Norv does up in Minnesota, and I wonder when Bridgewater will take the helm.

Kia, I was attempting to research it, but I never figured out the individual differences in how coaches like Andy Reid and Mike Holmgren ran the West Coast offense. Could you direct me to a place, or show me some where that I could find the basic mentality of Mike Holmgren's offense? (his scheme or plays he ran that have a similarity with something in Madden)

Kellen Winslow pretty much revolutionized the TE position under Coryell. Prior to Winslow tight ends were primarily blockers but Winslow was the first guy you ever saw be the primary target in his team's passing game. You almost never saw a tight end in motion neither before running his route to prevent jamming at the line.
It wasn't just a matter of pioneering that type of skillset with subsequent similar type TEs taking it to another level. To this day Winslow is probably the greatest pass catching tight end in NFL history during his peak years before injuries somewhat cut his career short. Shannon Sharpe and Tony Gonzalez had career stats that might have exceeded Winslow's but they both played a lot more years too.

+madcapper6 Do you have an idea as to what the main routes are that are typically ran in the Air Coryell System?? I've been looking all over, but I haven't really found a theme, just vertical passing concepts.

Gilman and Davis had nothing to do with Coryell's offense. Their system was closer to Walsh's.
