I ran out of rice but had cornmeal. I did not have frozen veggies so I used a carrot and some broccoli and cauliflower. It came out so good 😋
I love turn cornmeal with salt cod mixed in just like my Grandma used to make God rest her soul love that Lady❤️🇯🇲
Thank you for making this... I’m an American with Jamaican parents I used to eat this as a kid and forgot about it. I will make some this weekend I enjoyed watching this. So many memories

Chef, I enjoy your turn cornmeal video, I remember eating it as a little girl back in Jamaica. I have not cook any for my family here. I Plan to cook some this weekend. Thanks for sharing your culinary art.yum!yum!. ❤️
Out of all the video tutorials I've watched, this video is the most authentic. Big up yuhself Chef!
Bless the good work!
Greetings from Eastern Arabia
I have not seen it done this way before. What I have always seen is boiling the water then adding the cornmeal as you stir. I hated doing it like that. Just this evening I thought of doing some and the thought of all that turning was a big turn off. Then this video pooped up. I wasn't even looking for the recipe.
Thanks a lot. This way seems so much easier.
Your cooking always looks Amazingly Awesome . Thank you for sharing :)

Love your videos and your style. Your tun cornmeal tun up! I am planning on making this for my Sunday dinner tomorrow w/fish. Thanks for your ideas. Continue to be yourself...our patois language is also our flavor so don't be afraid to bruk out and use it ... we understand it and embrace it especially our folk who are living outside of J'ca. When researching J'can recipes online, we love to hear the patois ... makes us feel at home. I'm sure your fans who are not J'can will also love the patois ... trust me, that's why they tune in! Big up yourself and God bless you on your passion and your contribution to the culinary arts!
Chef patios isn't 'bad English' it's a dialect, a different language if you may. Don't let anyone rag on you for speaking your dialect. I understand the need to use standard English for explaining especially since some of your viewers may not speak patios but that's about it. Chat yuh patwah all yuh want yaa!
its actually a design language: by our ancestors for the wars ahead
That is why we can understand the English and the English cant understand us.
That is why Haitians can understand the French and the French cant understand them
Same goes to Suriname & Dutch. But you can go to Belize, Guyana Antigua and understand them. #exactly
there are also 3 West African hieroglyphics still in the Caribbean: The reason why the Igbo girls & women were brought to Jamaica. it not for labour BUT spies on the military section of the uprising.
There is no such thing as dark Africa. The English knew Igbo society education young girls to read Nsibidi, but what they didnt know is it NOT the same script. Military script is different from Spiritual (what the voodoo people write) and different from other class. Ditto Egypt. = reading is per class not general public.
Your history book dont tell you anything about the wars from 1740 to mid 1800's because they lost the war!
👉🏾guerilla warfare
👉🏾 camo (camouflage ) is what they western military took away from that beating. Because before they all dress like Liberace in bright sequin shiny military suits (copying the Romans) and stand in a straight line (copying the Romans). = but we walked away with the land-ownership 💯
>>> anyways their is a lot of falsehood retold in the classroom >>> But their generals and governors wrote the truth in their diaries. They wrote their (W) and (L) and you only hear 10% on documentaries because it doesnt fit their narrative of strength.
THOSE Pan-Africans who SPEAK THE SAME LANGUAGE AS THEIR OPPRESSOR are still oppressed. I wont name the countries; tan deh being proud you are educated - speak proper English like you & Elizabeth II are Bobsey Twins
💯 Miss Lou was #woke
@@cinnamonstar808 NO PROBLEM......WE SPEAK HOW WE SPEAK.....ONCE WE UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER....
Very informative. Appreciated the info on the dyed added to meats. Didn't stop to think about it ever. 👍🏻
@@cinnamonstar808 and that’s why Brazilian portuguese understand Português from Portugal, but the Portuguese people don’t understand Portuguese from Brazil, funny, and interesting ,isn’t ?!
yes a language in it's own right based on the tenets that makes a language a language...Jamaican Creole is a language and not broken English it's not ungrammatical

The best video so far
Have cooked your tun corn, at least 5 times now and think it is wonderful, my father never Cooked this for us well maybe he did but it may have just been plain, anyway, thank you for this, the only thing we found hard to get hold of was the pemento, berries, however, we got them in Holland on a trip and so now in England I have authentic tun cornmeal
I like tun cornmeal with stewed turkey neck & broad or butter beans. The way you do it looks deelish. However, when I prepare my own tun cornmeal it's not highly seasoned and I prefer to use liquid coconut milk. Mine is quite good; I do add about a tsp of Dash powder seasoning and mixed veg is a must. 😘
That looks good, and I am hungry now. l will be trying this turned cornmeal. Never eaten it before, and I can't wait .
Trying to make this today !!! 10-20-21 yasss!!
Just finding this channel and most definitely will be trying this recipe. That tun cornmeal look delicious and can just imagine how it taste. Good sah 😊😊
cnt wait to go make this for my hubby. I never eat it b4 but I'm going to .ooo
Nice one. Simple and good for us. I like it without the meat.Thank you.
That looks so GOOD! I like the addition of the veggies! I will have to search your channel for the curried chicken. Hope you have one uploaded. And I agree about the dye in chicken! If there is red runny liquid in the trey - it's wrong!
You have such a soothing amazing voice - ya wanna be the commentator on my vids? LOL
i'd be the voice in ur videos lol
I grow up on tun cornmeal goo of food
The Euro Cooking Canuk you made me hungry!!!

I just tried and memba mi tell yuh sey, di cawnmeal tun up up up! Thank you chef. Good recipe step by step instruction.
Thanks to you
Chef, All that you said and did for the Turn Cornmeal was very correct. That's how I make it too. The only thing missing from your recipe that would make it "un-Jamaican" is the absence of the salt fish.
I am ready to eat 😋 thanks for sharing this 👍👌
This look good never thought of curry chicken but I'm definitely going to try it👍🏾
Some steam fish with that and you good
If you're speaking patois speak patois dont apologize for it. Patois is patois and English is English. If you want to say Tun-cornmeal say it that's the name of the meal and if anyone else wants to say turn-cornmeal it's up to them but don't apologize for saying it.
Well done i enjoyed watching🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I am going to buy you a nice pot spoon. LOL. Thanks for the video. I have found that the cornmeal that I make tastes better the next day after keeping it in the fridge. I warm it up in foil in the oven, not in the microwave. Where I am from, we use ochres not vegetables but I have also seen it with a bit of finely diced carrots sparcely distributed. The end product is of medium consistency. Anything that is put in it is chopped very fine.
Hi Miguel... Love ur cooking.
I would love to see how u make a natural seasoning recipe, how u store it and how long u store it for? plz and thanks
+Shackia web Go to the market once a week, buy fresh vegetables for seasonings, like thyme, onion, etc, buy fresh or dried herbs. At home store them in cool dry place, or in the fridge bottom. Use when you are ready!. If it is winter, fresh onion stay for long, dry the thyme and herbs. You can freeze scallion, even onion, pepper, stuff like that. Nevertheless Supermarket have fresh vegetable all seasons.
+MiQuel M. Samuels
I was thinking more like a jerk seasoning or a everyday seasoning that u would blend. Which seasoning u use and the measurements.
ive never ate turned corn meal. it looks good, but that chicken curry gravy😋 it looked real good man.
+Ahmed AL mudhi Thanks Bro
