- Who doesn't love a good thrift store haul? Try it all on with me. 13 dresses! Oh, and a super embarrassing story about one of the dresses.
I'm going to style each dress with shoes and accessories and it's going to be a ton of fun. Some of the dresses I'm not even sure if I like because they are so weird, but I bought them anyhow because I want to see what happens when I try to make them work. So.... let's see!

That gold dress looks like its looking for a new years eve party.
The first dress with red flats is just like Twiggy 1960s style! Id love it with red Mary Janes. ❤️
I agree.
I never would now...but I was a young professional in the 80s and I loved that type of dress then ..ahh..when people used to dress up!!!
The lavender and pinky red one shoulder dress would be perfect for going out to dinner at a resort in the Caribbean.
I can see it at a garden party. (Like I go to so many of those.😉)
I agree 💯
Picnic with flats
Your sense of humor is unbelievable! You made me smile a lot ❤ thank you ! All the 13 dresses are so cute because simply you’re wearing them .
Thank you Salwa! That's really sweet of you to say!
I actually really like the flashy lavender/Pink dress! It’s charming. You are so so fun!
me too! i'd probably wear platform docs and a jean jacket with it. it looks like one of those things i'd wear once or twice then back to the goodwill it would go.
I love this dress too. I could wear it to a summer wedding or out to a restaurant during a beach vacay. With some cute wedge sandals (I've got a red pair that would look great). Adding a belt, but no scarf, because that off shoulder neckline is too fun.
Oh that 80s dress takes me back. *shudder* I’d forgotten about those big buttons - Vogue described them as ‘fun’! You look fabulous in the one shoulder dress, the gold dress, and the green dress. Great picks!
I grew up in the 80’s FLASHBACK LOL I love how real your videos are.
UGH That DRESS!!! Haha! I also grew up in the 80s and I hated that dress style even when it was in style! I think it was just that awful button that really set me off. Thanks for watching. :)
I love the lavender and pinky red dress on you. Wear it with a pair of flat nude sandals and a straw bag for a beautiful summer look! Gorgeous
Love the red shoes.
I enjoy your channel a lot. It’s so fun watching you playing dress up. It’s like I’m there too
Thank you! Glad you like these!
I love the lavender pink dress on you. It definitely has a fun tropical vacation vibe to it! The cheap green dress looks so fabulous on you. It works well with your skin tone and hair color and makes the green in your eyes sing!
❤
One shoulder dress would be great for a cruise!
The way you styled the salmon dress shows how much talent you have. It looked, as you rightly said, boring - but with black boots and the “useless” scarf, it looked really cool.
Fun fact - in the U.K., “mauve” rhymes with “clove”.
Okay my favorite is the one shoulder number! And red is such a great color on you. And the green dress. We should hold a ceremonial burning of the blue eighties dress-
😅
I used to buy men’s sport coats with leather elbow patches to wear with turtlenecks and straight pants and good boots! Watching you with that great taupe sweater and oversized trench coat made me realize what I was going for a basic that added style! You elevated thrift store dresses especially and your Paris dress and the story made my day! My aunt was an amazing seamstress and made me a Chanel style outfit that stoped the show at a fraternity event of a major college! How understated it really was but stood out as classy! Thank you for bringing fashion memories back to life for me!
Wonderful stories!
With the royal blue dress, try keeping the black belt, but wear black shoes and a black necklace with it. Also, with your strappy dresses -- dark green and green/blue print -- look for something you can wear UNDER the dress. A simply T, with any length sleeves, would work as long as it fits snugly. The dresses then become jumpers.
Fun with clothes! You make it all seem possible.....
❤
Hello Diana, I just discovered your channel and subscribed. Love it! You are so much fun to watch. I've done vintage and thrifting for many, many years. I also worked in high end fashion, and at one point, also had my own boutique. I like to mix the two. I still have some of my very fancy suits and clothing from the 90"s and 2000's. I can see that first black and white dress worn as a tunic with a pair of velvet leggings and biker boots. Black trench coat optional. Or even, I saw you wear a soft pink shaggy cardigan .The same goes for the sequined dress. The lavender /pink dress is perfect for the beach or cocktails on a patio. Try it with flat sandals. The red dress, to be honest, looks like it's been altered. Something about how the hemline falls. The leopard print dress/ tunic is fabulous without the belt. The looseness is what makes it beautiful and classy. The black and white toile print dress is also a great find. The trick with the gathers is to bunch most of it at the front and back and less on the sides. It falls better. I'd also love to see it with flat sandals, or a shorter heel. The last dress really is so much fun and cheerful.
Welcome! All good ideas! Thanks for being here.
I love the one shoulder dress 😍😍😍😍. Wear it to a boozy brunch at a wine estate, don't forget the oversized sunglasses and a piece of big jewellery 😎
I'd definitely do that if I did that! 😂
And a whimsical summer hat. 👒
That first one is definitely a 60s style. It looks fantastic.
Was hooked on the first video I found and immediately subscribed ... This brought me back to days as a news anchor with lots of ROYA BLUE synthetics !!!
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying these!
Yes, this was fun!
The print and cut on the second H&M dress reminds me of Balmain.
You are so fun!!! I'm starting to re-assess my wardrobe because I have to move and want to get rid of things.... Thanks for the inspiration :)
You can do it!❤
I love the gold dress! It would be a fabulous Christmas Party or New Year’s Eve dress.
Absolutely loved this!! My fav two were the warm autumnal coloured dress and the pompom one. Oh the pompom dress! I’m so envious. Thank you for also showing footwear and your trench coat. My biggest problem with dresses is always the winter coat. Its cold and muddy in rural UK for 8 months of the year
Everything changes with the top layer and footwear! My friend used to make comments to me from the dressing room like you’re making about the blue belt, and the big black button, she had everyone in the store in stitches.
OMG that button! I hate the button so much! 🤣
How about a really long cardigan over the first dress? ❤️ the boots!
Why not!
Always enjoy your narrative as it feels like friends having a try-on party!!
Aw that's my biggest hope! ❤❤❤
Thank you for your great videos. You've definitely been a good influence on my. I'm beginning to step it up!
Aw I appreciate that! ❤❤❤❤
Great video and love your sense of humour . Absolutely love the one shoulder dress on you . Stunning
Thanks Deb!
Looks like you need to go on a Virgin Voyage Cruise with all those beautiful colorful dresses! Newbie sub here & I love your style & tips. And your sense of humor is 100% spot on! Love from Colorado
Thank you! Welcome! I'll go on that cruise now!
@@unblahyourself I'm going to Spain & Portugal in November with my hubby & cousins. I'm happy I found your channel cause this soon to be 61 yr old needed some refreshes. I get 98% of my clothes from thrift stores. I love it cause I can take chances. Thank you for sharing!
Oooh that sounds exciting! Did you watch my travel capsule wardrobe video?? czcams.com/video/qa918MZILuQ/video.htmlsi=En8HGp2ygS8kJsLb
Dress #4 would be perfect for a sunny day at the races!
While I do think you're right and that would be a good use of that dress, I am laughing at the thought of myself at the races. I have never been "to the races". Maybe I should go!
@@unblahyourself Haha, I have never been either, the dress was just giving that Inspiration 😅
I love the green dress with the loose buttonholes. The style and fit are perfect. I had a similar clothing faux pas, I used flash tape to secure the button holes on the bodice of an ivory blazer. Somehow it rolled out the edge of the blazer and turned into a sticky black stripe down the front. No wonder people were staring at me , even from a distance, and I was in the US, so embarassment knows no borders.
I love love your hair in the wedge in more recent videos. It shows your eyes beautifully. You said you were growing your hair back out,I guess like this, and I’m thinking why!! But you’re beautiful regardless.
Wear that loud lavender and red dress on a cruise, or at a luau.❤
I love that animal print dress that was split up high. So cool.
They way you talk to the camera is how I talk to myself in the mirror...is that weird? Yeah, thought so 😅
I love the black trench
Loved this video 👍
Glad you enjoyed it! I plan on making many more so I hope you subscribe and hang out with us!
This is sooo fun! Can that blue one be saved?? My idea is cut the skirt off and wear the top as peplum with dark blue skinny jeans. Wear black strappy sandal heels.
Love the red dress. It would be so cute on a pear shaped lady with ample booty and bigger legs.
You must be an autumn when it somes to color. I am.
How about a pair of black pants with the gold dress? That would make this more sophisticated.
Try the dresses with some running shoes like the young fashionistas do. The running shoes suddenly make the dresses really cool. I started doing that lately and I am 56.
Great idea!! I often wear my skirts and dresses with my black Adidas sneakers and I love the way that looks. I am trying not to do the "white trainers" look though. I think that look is going to be dated really soon. I was so happy that women got to wear comfortable shoes and be stylish in the first time in what feels like forever!
@@unblahyourself I agree about the White Trainers being a 🤮.
Oh my gosh your embarrassing story 😭 😭 😭 nightmare fuel!
I love this video and I love that you’re a bird lady lol I did like the bird on bird look ❤
Not only are there birds throughout my wardrobe, I have a serious bird statue collection in my front yard. Somebody stop me!
@@unblahyourself 😆😆😆😆😆 never stop
The first dress is pure 1965.
“Don’t be the crazy bird lady. That spot’s already taken…by meeeee.”
You’re killing it! 😂
No that's meeeee!
That anthropology Pim pom dress is a very good find.
Love the haul, love your sens of you 😀
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it!
Great selection of dresses 👏👏👍👏👏😁😍. I would definitely steal some of those from your closet 😜. I am really loving your videos, we are the same age and I am enjoying your sense of humour and style. This last few months I have bought several clothing items second hand, things outside of my boring comfort zone and I am really enjoying trying out new styles without braking the bank or feeling guilty about adding to the environmental impact that clothing has. Have you tried the app Vinted? I have been really enjoyed using it .👍😁
I am so glad to hear all of that! The entire reason I started this channel is to connect with people and make friends who are into the same things. I wish you would come over and steal things from my closet because these videos are causing things to really pile up!
@@unblahyourself 🤣🤣🤣 unfortunately I live in Portugal ✈️, otherwise I would 😉
Older video but I love it! And I had to comment that the "not your favorite" blue dress is adorable! Reminds me of Blade Runner in a very very good way.
I liked most of them. The 1st short one looked like the 1960s. The gold sequin would be good for New Year's Eve. I would wear the long one bare shoulder dress most anywhere; it does say garden party, maybe vacation/cruise. Loved the green dress, the red dress, the last dress SO fun. I love blue and blue/green, peplums/ruffles are nice. The teddy dress looks cozy.
I think the leopard print is supposed to be a very long tunic; I've seen similar style. Tights and leggings are different kinds of garments. Tights are hosiery; leggings are pants.
Looks comfortable and the color does look good on you.
The one shoulder dress: would be great for a garden party at Buckingham Palace ... or you could wear it with a jean jacket and white sneakers to go get groceries :)
I like the jean jacket sneakers idea! 💡
That Paris dress is divine 🥰
Cute dresses. I thought a lot of them would've looked really nice with a turtle neck or a white button down shirt underneath them.😊 I liked the sweaters too though 👍
Yes I do love a turtleneck, and I'm always so surprised when people don't like them! I find them to be very versatile and stylish. Thanks for watching!
wear that red dress in Hawaii!
Love no 4
I actually really loved it and I have never worn anything like that before.
❤
Loved the fashion show. Pick up some more scarves and some vintage brooches and some metal and sparkly belts to dress up some of those dresses. The blue peplum 80s dress needs to go - 🫣. Love the video 🥰❤👍
Oh and I make tops out of sequin dresses because I love to wear them with jeans and cardigans or blazers.
Good idea!
80’s. You’re cute and make this fun 😂 You’re my daughters age.
I like the 1st (black and white) dress with the black stockings, red shoes (and without the jacket). Try big gold hoops and a long gold necklace or scarf in red/white/black). you have a great figure and could wear it with modification.
You probably right. The only reason I say I wouldn't is because of my own comfort level. I'm 5'9" and when I bend over or sit in things like this it becomes an ISSUE. Ha! Dresses often become shirts on me.
Can you fit a thin black skirt (slightly longer and underneath the dress), to get extra long coverage (for bending over)?
Probably a slip, but I always just wear something longer. 😊 Problem solved!
I totally understand your reasoning! You’re a discreet lady 😁
Probably too discreet sometimes!
You remind me of me 😂. I love your perception. Much keener than mine 😊.
You have a really good eye!
Do you have a good Tailor friend, when needed? My Tailor moved from Colorado to Pennsylvania. She worked for Nordstrom. Started her own business and she did everything mostly for free for me for about 20 years. 🙏🏼
Thank you!!
Needs Shape yes
Black jewelry goes with gold clothes, jet, ónix, black spinel etc
Yes, looks great!
And now I want to ask what thrift shop you went to in Paris for your silk scarves.
I got all of my best ones for 5 Euros each at Kilo Shop in the Republiqué area.
If it’s not a ruffle, it’s a Flounce. If it’s a little short skirt around your waist, it’s called peplum.
You can wear anything!
Not really, but I try! 😆
for the one shoulder dress I suggest an luau.
We should all go to more luaus!
Could you link your biker boots if possible please? LOVE flowered jacket! That outfit is gorgeous together! ❤
I'm sorry that I don't know the brand of these biker boots. It's all worn off. All I know is that they were made in Portugal!
😥
Love all your videos. I live in California too but my Goodwill doesn’t seem to have the treasures yours does. Which Goodwill do you go to?
I go to a lot of Goodwills around Burbank and Glendale, California.
whee can you wear the bule peplum dress, a wedding-return, one shoulder one weat, return,
You ever try those dresses with a pair of sneakers for Spring/Summer look?
I am not sure if it's my short hair but I feel like that look doesn't really work on me. Maybe when my hair grows out a bit!
QUESTION
The only way I'll wear scarves is casually. I don't do strict tie tutorials or tight knots. It's just not for me!
Cute
Oh wow. You are around my daughters age. 48 and 45.
Why don't we tie the scarf around your waist with the red dress!❤
Im Winter empfiehlt es sich nicht die Ärmel des Mantels hoch gekrempelt zu tragen😂
U look fabulous
Thank you Jacqueline!
Girl you’re too cute to eat alone in Paris 😂 Really?
IDK! I thought I was good company! 😂
It seems to me that you feel uncomftable in cool colours, regardless of style.
😂
Too much dress on your petite size
😂
