Building Fortress Europe? Migration pact divides EU parties ahead of elections • FRANCE 24 English

  • It's not only in the US and UK that border protection is on the ballot. The European Parliament's vote on a migration pact was always going to be a nail-biter, especially two months out from EU elections. We ask about the close result and about burden sharing, this as the numbers of those crossing the Mediterranean hit their highest level since 2015.

    Any EU country govermant can't just say no to this policy, they have to accept certain amount of immigrants or they will be fined 20 000 euro for 1 person. It doesn't matter what was the policy of these countries before, how much they were protecting their citizens for illegal immigration - they have to surrender to that policy paying for the supidity of the other countries rules. Poland by example, we accepted about a 1 million legal immigrants from Ukraine because of war. It was simple thing, natural because they were in great need so polish peoples open their houses and hearts for them because I'm sure they would do the same for us. Very rare they were in some camps, mostly peoples private homes, some appartments. BUT! It doesnt't matter now. They are counting the illegal imigrants only! Look... In example.. An immigrant comes to Italy -> Italy is sending him by bus to some other country and recived 20 000 euro for it. What does it look like? Getting money for a person. Human trafficking. Slave andlars were doing the similar deals. It was just illegal then. And now?? It's just sick!

  • @ABO-Destiny
    @ABO-Destiny Před 2 měsíci

    Low skillled immmigration strategy should always be coupled with upholding of standards in quality of service, quality of civility, society, environment, there is a danger in courting low skilled workers and not controlling and regulating their activities and not taking measures to ensure quality is not compromised.
    The other factor to consider should be social impact. I am very circumspect of populations who is not willing or not able to integrate within european societies by european standards and finds it difficult to let go off their traditional cultures and ways of life.
    For such groups proper monitoring, training, analysing and withholding of residence permits is the way to go.
    It is also important to understand that most of these immigration problems of europe should be tackled at global level with comprehensive global approach and actions otherwise they may work for somebyears to come only which is however an immediate necessity but in long term.a global approach is needed.

    • @attilakovacs6428
      @attilakovacs6428 Před 2 měsíci +2

      You pay the immigrant for nothing. He lives in his own community in his own culture. He doesn't care about work, he doesn't care about the language, and he doesn't care about your culture! All he needs is the free money you give him! And he will ask for more. And you work to support him, you have nothing else to do, you are a servant!

      A global approach is very much needed and global organisations like United Nations and its arms strengthened or new ones formed to monitor and enforce these measures.
      However most of the rot of any well meaning approach to problems of group of individuals be that at village level, or national level or global occurs from within the controlling setup.
      So it is undeniable that post WW2 global setup was long dealt a blow from within the controlling ranks in west with support fir a zionist state in middle east. Who was responsible, who controlled the decision making processes is not difficult to understand nowadays but the fact is global organisations which were setup to ensure a just arrangement is in place for all , albeit with former colonial rulers at helm were malfunctioning to some groups convenience then.
      But that was before I was born. In my lifetime I am witness to repeated flouting of agreed upon agreements by India on Kashmir and again global organisations were happy to look the other way round under the argument that Kashmir is an internal affair.
      So what was the purpose of organisations like United Nations then. To monitor and mediate in disputes between new nations and prevent large scale loss of lives from conflicts or to ensure peace is established around the world?
      If it is former it has somewhat succeeded in its goal and through its different branches it has been able to address dire humanitarian situations world over which I feel was our biggest and most purest possible form of benefit received from the new setup. However i am sure if ensuring peace around the world was its goal it had failed right at the very beginning.
      I am absolutely fine with western societies and former colonial powers steering things in right in direction, they have the historical mandate to do so and over the years they had proved to be much more capable of ensuring the new setup functions properly.
      However, those internal sabotages from whatever sources coupled with external sabotaging attempts from various ideological, religious, ethnic blocs had all ensured any good intention behind such actions which followed the traumatic period of early 20th to mid 20th century are not made to function.
      And we are now approaching similar calendar period in 21st century and things are already starting to flare up.
