I left my old church cause of gossip and judging. It seemed like they only expect perfect people there. Now I'm in an amazing church that tells it like it is, everyone is welcome, and they preach the whole word and not just what people want to hear. And so many times the sermon was exactly what I needed to hear. That's another important reason for attending church.

Tad Walker I strongly recommend that you find a home church so that you can learn more about christ and grow as a Christian. also it's a way of worship and setting aside time for Him and fellowship with other believers. Now that said that doesn't mean you'll go to hell because you're not involved in a church but church is something you should make time for. Be blessed

Perversion has entered the church and they use the scriptures the wrong way like the Pharisees. The pharisees used the sabbath and other God's laws to entrap people to glorify their own flesh and not in our Father.Jesus said in the book of John that the true person sent by God would not do his own will but the will of God the Father .We need to be alert. If you get a good church where the word of God is followed even by the Pastors and the leaders then we can go there on the sabbath or any other time.
When some churches start breaking the very principles of the bible paid with blood by Christ and over 50 million saints , they have opened the door for people to do what's best for them to get do God's will the right way.

These "church" buildings are not God's and the Buble says that more than twice. People don't study and thats why they think calling themselves Christians and going to these buildings is right, but ITS NOT. Is that out of not having a right church to go to, or simply worldly laziness and selfishness?
My pastor once asked the same question: Can a Christian who doesn't go to church, still get into Heaven/be a Christ-follower?
Basically, the answer boiled down to yes, they can, but a true Christian will desire whole-heartedly to attend a church service. We are the Church yes, but we need an organized event at least once a week to collectively worship God as a body.
'Christians' who don't desire church, can't call themselves Christian.

Don't force yourself to fit in anywhere if it means failing God (I mean if the only way they'd accept you is by gossiping or being fake or whatever). If you want to deepen your relationship with him and you feel that your church is not adding to your growth, the holy spirit is not among the people there. When he guides you, you don't reject people who want to learn more about God. So you're not missing anything really. But always pray and ask God to put you where he wants you before you decide to leave or join a new church.

Better is it to be an obedient servant to Christ and show love to your enemies than to go to a building and pay money to a man every Sunday and hear him read verses that one themselves can read in the Bible. The Church(believers) are the Body of Christ or the Bride of Christ. It's not a building. NOWHERE in the Bible does it say that a believer must attend a building in order to worship God or fellowship with other believers. You can worship or fellowship just about anywhere. God says He doesn't dwell in buildings made by hands (Acts 7:48-49; 17:24). God dwells in the heart of His children (1Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 3:17; 2 Corinthians 6:16; Revelation 21:3).
Question: What literal building on this Earth can contain Almighty God? NONE!
If a believer wants to join himself/herself to a building called church, then that's their choice. But to say that a believer must join a congregation is not biblical.

Then if that is the choice a specific Christian is making, to not attend a “building”, I pose a follow up question. What instead are they doing to actively grow alongside other Christians in Christ? Because that IS Biblical.
To live along side, fellowship, and worship with other Christians. We weren’t called to stand alone in our praise and worship and learning.
So if you aren’t “going to Church”
where are you getting that source? Are you active in a home small group? A weekly in house worship session? A Christian community group? There has to be something.
You alone are not the church. You can’t be.
But you AND I?? We are. Together. So stand with me brother, and we can love and praise Him together. We can reach others together.
And you know where the most CONVENIENT place for people to do that is? ..... at a church building.

We, meaning Western Christianity, do not understand what the word "church" actually means. We always want to place a pivotal meaning on the building or organization and that is not what it is. This video sounds good to the unlearned, but it is not biblically based. Church is the body of Christ both local and worldwide and it is not connected with a building or organization such as denominations. Read Paul's epistles, especially Ephesians for more information on this subject.

I am a VERY new creation in Christ and even I understand this concept.
It's quite concerning that many professing Christians today that have been around for much longer than me are sleepy when it comes to this topic...they simply don't want to hear it, or they just ignore many key verses...
I'm confused about this however, because I know that the church has nothing to do with the building, even the concept of pastors/rabbis/preists etc was abolished by Jesus.
but I still try to attend these gatherings in the hopes that I can fellowship with true believers, and we can splinter off into smaller more dedicated groups.
I know the current corporate "church" system is deceptive but I don't doubt that there are atleast a few solid believers in there somewhere and they are yearning for true fellowship. I believe it's our job as true believers of what the early church meant, to find the real people and link up with them.
I believe in the sovereignty of God to still have the ability to use these ridiculous buildings and gatherings for ultimately a good outcome in the end...
      would that be sound thinking?

I haven't felt the Holy Spirit move through the church since I attended a small house church back in the 80's. When the Holy Spirit sweeps through your church, you will KNOW IT, people. I don't care who you are, where you come from or what you have done, you will know when the living waters go through your church. I have to ask.......Are churches really that dead in America that the Holy Spirit sweeping through the church seems to be a rare event nowadays?? We are so caught up in the cares of this world, with possessions, with other things that contend for our hearts.

It's because the pastor does his thing every week while the saints just sit and listen where as in a house meeting of the saints everyone participates and the Holy spirit can move because there is no pastor in the way.

The church is from the heart. Not four walls or buildings or temples.
1 Corinthians 3:16 King James Version (KJV)
“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”
Ephesians 3:17 King James Version (KJV)
“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,”
      2 Corinthians 6:16
      King James Version (KJV)
“And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
Acts 7:48-49 King James Version (KJV)
“Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,
Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?”
Acts 17:24-25 King James Version (KJV)
      God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;”
Better? I am sure you will feel more confident!

The Church and church organizations are not the same thing. I worked at a mega church as an administrative assistant and one of the main pastors told me the church was first and foremost a business. The created outside charities to meet the needs of the poor, but I got the impression it was more so the leadership didn’t have to deal with needy people. I faithfully attended and served in churches for more than 25 years, in almost every area of ministry. I gave until my body broke from exhaustion. When I got sick I had to quit my job and leave most of my ministry services. Then I was asked to leave the leadership of the one I chose to remain in, and treated as if I were a backslider. Eventually I left, mainly because I felt as if I were being shunned, but had no idea what sin I had committed. I tried two other churches, but being unable to serve in children’s ministry, I was not given opportunity to use talents I could do, I was expected to pay my dues in the children’s ministry. Don’t get me wrong, I love working with kids, but I physically couldn’t handle it and because of my illness I could not be as reliable as one needs to be for that area. I’m almost 60, and I get very fatigued.
I love my God and Savior and have a personal relationship with Him. However, I’m not considered a sister in Christ unless I attend someone’s church. This makes no sense. I can guarantee there are many they consider brothers and sisters in Christ who just attend for the networking, or worse, because it’s an easy place full of trusting people to be able to do evil things.
My point is, it’s getting very hard to find a church that teaches scripture and actually cares about people. It just feels like an exclusive social club. It didn’t used to, back in the 80-90s. It started to change around the mid 2000s. About the time of the Purpose Driven Life craze. That movement made everyone so busy trying to find their purpose they sort of forgot about relationship-especially that all important personal relationship with God.
Also, Jesus as far as I know never worshipped on Sunday. Like you said, He never missed a Sabbath. Just saying….

Brother Allen thank you for sharing!
I very much agree that it is vital we find our place in the body of Christ.
I just want to offer a word of encouragement to fellow believers who are really struggling to find a place to gather with other believers and the truth is being taught and people are being transformed . As another brother stated, many are going into "church" one way and are walking out unchanged.
I think what is so important for us to do right now is to make sure we are good stewards of the word of God. Study to show yourselves approved because deception and apostasy is on the rise. It's so sad and I know grieves Gods heart to see his people being led astray because we're not studying the word for ourselves. I'm so guilty of that and what happens is many believers depend on their pastors to only teach them rather than spending time in prayer and in the word and allowing the Holy Spirit to teach them.
So PLEASE just make sure your reading your bibles and God tells us if we acknowledge him in all our ways , he will direct our paths. He will lead you to where he wants you. It could be a home group or place other believers in your path to fellowship with.
    Don't pray and worry! 😁

  • @breathofgodministries3955

One thing I would say, don’t just join a church just for the sake of joining a church. Be extremely selective and make sure you are seeking The Lord thy God before seeking something physical like a church. The Church is the Body of Christ not just a building to gather in. Make sure you know the word of God for yourself after spending quality time seeking God and building that relationship. This is were you will truly Grow, is on your own and away from the noise of the world. Yes, religion can be apart of the world too. Spend time building your relationship with God and it will keep you religion more wholesome. Not seeking religion first but always with Seeking God above all else. It will never be your time spent with others that grows you spiritually it will mostly be your time in isolation, privacy and in secret. The time we spend with others edifies for sure, no doubt about that. But if we as the Bride of Christ are not careful we can become lost sheep amongst wolves(Mathew 7).
It’s very easy to yearn for company and turn to people for comfort but with out a solid relationship with God, that church, minister, ministry or group of people can become your god. You never want anything to take the place of God. Not people or church. Before you know it you have started to worship an idol, a false imitation of God. Breaking the most important commandment for all other commandments make no sense if we have missed the first one (Exodus 20).
A church should be something that compliments our walk not be the necessity to our walk of Faith with God. Just as we should “want” to be in a relationship but not “need” to be in a relationship with another. If we are made complete already inside through Jesus Christ we shouldn’t lack or want for anything. So any church should compliment the already solid walk you are on. Knowing everything we need God will provide and already has provided with His Son. All we need to know is inside his Holy Scriptures. We don’t have to look so hard and search so long. It’s sitting one your book shelf somewhere. We are always so hungry as people seeking a Guru to be our god and some human with all the answers. None of us do! We need God, we need His Son, We need His Spirit.
But, if you know God for yourself, know his word without a doubt by studying to show thyself approved (2nd Timothy 2) now you will be able to stand firm knowing truth and be able to tell the difference of lies versus the truth. Otherwise you are at risk to follow lies and perish for lack of knowledge(Hosea 4).
So invest in what you do when you are all alone when no one is looking. This is what is the most meaningful to God from what The Scriptures show. Not how we behave when the world is watching but rather how we behave when alone and only The Lord is seeing us. It’s very easy to put on a Holy show when we are seen, but’s its the things we do in secret that are the most Sacred unto God.
So if you’re looking for a church, make sure you know the Gospel and make sure that church also knows the Gospel. There are many churches that follow the devil and not God. So be careful and allow God to show you how to find a church. Don’t just pick one of your own accord. I am not saying to neglect the Body of Christ but the Body of Christ is not a physical structure rather it is a spiritual structure (Galatians 5).
Look at Mathew 6 and see how Sacred Jesus speaks of the things we do unto the Father in secret and time alone.
Read 1st Samuel as it talks about the Shepard Boy David that spent time in the wilderness tending to sheep by all alone by himself before being anointed by God through the prophet Samuel.
Read Revelation 1 about John The Revelator how he was imprisoned on the island of Patmos, all alone and was revealed to him the visions by God to write while even in his solitude.
Read in exodus 20 about Moses being alone with God in mount Sinai to receive the Commandments.
Read in Mathew 26 Jesus Christ praying all alone because no one would stay awake to pray with him in the Garden of Gethsemane.
So many instances of the men and women of God being alone and hearing his voice. His voice is a small still voice(1st Kings 19). For we are never alone when we have God.
There is importance in being alone as there is importance in coming together to edify ourselves and edifying the Body of Christ. Just try not to limit who we are and our identity in Christ down to 4 walls. To be honest there is so much false Gospel out there you need to be careful. But if you are equipped with the Gospel you can now spread truth we’re there is heresy, win souls for Christ. It now becomes an opportunity and not a downfall. But if you go out into the World not equipped with the Armor of God(Ephesians 6) you will either become lost or ill equipped to help the Lost.
True worship isn’t just singing at church. Music is a part of worship but true worship is how you live day to day before the Lord. So be very selective of who you entrust to teach you anything and make sure that The Lord God himself is your source for true knowledge. Not man. For man can lead you a stray for we are limited creatures.
But Jesus Christ says it best:
“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭19:26‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Lastly, I would challenge you before seeking a church seek God first and let God guide you to a church. Spend sometime studying the 4 Gospels until it becomes ingrained in you. Listen or read it over and over with The Holy Ghost guiding you and asking God to reveal it to you as the scriptures say if we ask God anything believing we will receive (Mark 11). So ask God for wisdom and knowledge and you will receive it if you just believe and don’t doubt.
You will know who Jesus Christ really is an an intimate way and you will see a clear image in your mind and heart of his ministry. If you find a church that lines up with his ministry you are blessed. Even if they aren’t perfect as You think it should be, it doesn’t matter as long as they are ministering the correct Gospel and truly doing Gods will. This is the most essential. We will all have our little differences on what we think church should be like but as long as the correct Gospel is being preached this is the most important as the Apostle Paul would say. So ask yourself. Do know the correct Gospel?
May you discover The Lord in a deeper way and be guided to the truth by the Spirit of truth.
    🙏🏽❤️✝️
“I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

I dont go to church. I am the church.
Church can be anywhere anytime... as long as there are two or three gathered in His name, you are fellowshipping.
The "church" today thinks it's now become a building, seems more like a social club with little clicks within it, each little click doing their own thing...not really fellowshipping at all...not to mention most don't even use the 5 fold ministry to edify one another.
Stop with the guilt tripping ( manipulation) and taking the bible out of context.
Children learn about ethic and moral AT HOME, because OUR MINISTRY BEGINS AT HOME.
GOING TO A BUIDLING TO GATHER IS COOL, AND CAN BE EDIFYING TO MOST... BUT NOT NESECARRY FOR SALVATION.
I've learned and grown more in the last two years being at home and studying for myself and seeking God, then I learned in all the 29+ years going to "church"

I am learning that I dont care if they are wrong and we are right.. I discovered that id rather be wrong and happy than be right and miserable.
Im going back to church starting this weekend. It might be fairytales or it might not.. but the one thing I do know is that almost everybody goes to church with an open heart and with good thoughts in their mind and THAT Im sure is what creates a greater mind of spirit, love and harmony which rubs off on every single body inside the building... So, call it what you will.. I am going back to have that rub on me again, if nothing else.

      @lindasanderson4829 Před 7 lety +1

Jonathan I myself have asked the same question. However, I was merely showing from the scriptures that the word of God says Christians should get together regularly, I guess it's kind of like having a support group, for encouragement, strengthening and building one another up. And since the 'church' is actually the body of believers rather than an actual building, it would not have to be in a building. Like you said, they could meet outside at a park, in individuals homes or wherever they could comfortably and peacefully gather to discuss God's word and fellowship with one another.

I find these verses in Hebrews encouraging. 'Church' as people say is the gathering of people. This can be a bible study or youth group or meeting on Sunday. However, I think it should be a meeting that is first and foremost about Christians meeting to encourage one another. Doing more of these types of meetings is better! PS We do not *need* to meet - we are saved by the grace of God. However, we will be more mature Christians by meeting with others who can encourage us and make us grow.

If a pastor every tells you that, tell him that Uncle Sam already got your first %10. The church I attend know does NOT pressure people for money at all. And I really like that a lot.

  • @midnightrider6984
    @midnightrider6984 Před 4 lety +2

I'm not a father, and I'm not in a relationship. So that won’t work on me. The churches in my area are run by certain cliques, and the testimonies of anyone, not belonging to the cliques, do not get heard. Then there are the big churches with the congregations that number in the hundreds! The testimonies you hear there, are the same testimonies you hear nearly every week. Next there's the church where somebody inevitably (usually the same people each week) starts speaking gibberish (meaning, they repeat the same sounds too often for it to be any kind of language), and somebody else ( usually the same people each week) interprets the gibberish almost exactly the same way each week! Doing it to the point that I can lip sync their response almost perfectly! I can appreciate your perspective, and if it works for you, that's great! But Jesus is the temple. He is the Church! Man, on the other hand, is a corrupt temple, a self abused temple, and that corrupts all earthly institutions. That doesn't mean that I don't search for a church that the Holy Spirit tells me is right, but I have yet to find such a church!
Most churches teach false doctrines, and as soon as I hear one, I'm gone! One of those false doctrines is the one that leads people to believe that TRUE belief in Christ as Lord, Savior, and navigator of one's life is not enough! And unless they attend the right church, whichever denomination that is (almost all claim to be the ONE), they can't enter into heaven! That is Satan's doctrine! Mingle with a congregation of ten, and at least three will be his emissaries, whether they know it or not! Mingle with 100, and 30 will try to corrupt you, whether they even realize they're corrupting you!
Your journey is not my journey! The things you need to learn, and overcome, are not the things that I need to learn and overcome! Hearing your testimony gives me perspective, which is why I'm a subscriber. Plus, when I disagree, I can give you a sermon in return! You can't do that in a church without offending the cliques! You can't, for instance, confront "Pastor" Joel "build a better you" Osteen, without offending all of those "have my cake and eat it too" followers of his! Nor can you debate a pastor, in his own church, if Antinomianism is his false message - because people actually WANT to believe that! They want to believe that belief in Christ is their "get out of jail free card"!
I lived in Central Arkansas for a time, and this false doctrine is everywhere out there! People actually believed that they could carry on as they did as non-believers or unsaved sinners, simply because they asked Jesus Christ to come into their hearts! Sure some people who do that do get saved from that day forward! But the difference between the saved, and the unsaved "Born Again's" is obvious! Jesus is actually IN the hearts of the saved, guiding their conduct! He is completely absent in the hearts of the "Business As Usual" believers. If they were sincere when they asked Him into their hearts, rather than just covering their own necks, their lives would have changed dramatically! It wouldn't be business as usual. Satan's the "Embrace you Sin" guy, not Jesus! So if that's someone’s path, then they're going the wrong way!
How many churches that teach Antinomianism do you think will listen to my rebuking testimony? I live on the U.S. west coast. How many liberal congregates do you think will respond lovingly to my rebuke of their irrational and hypocritical hatred of Donald Trump? So far, that number stands at zero!
When I rebuke a congregation (only the guilty) for leaving a carton of milk in the meat department of their local supermarket, or for leaving their shopping cart in a parking space, rather than pushing it ten to 20 feet to the shopping cart caddie, how do you think they respond? They defend their sin!
"The store employs people to clean up after me!"
Do they? Do they really? That carton of milk has to be thrown away, because the store employees have no idea what happened to it between the dairy and meat departments! And when the parking lot gets full, and the only space that’s reasonably close to the store, is the one occupied by your discarded cart, who ends up moving it; the "store employee" or the driver of the car that's trying to park? And even if a store employee ended up collecting your cart, are we, as Christians, encouraged to increase the work burdens of others, just for our own convenience? Sorry brothers and sisters, that's just plain lazy and inconsiderate! And Jesus would NEVER do it, nor would he sign the release for you to do it!
I do not agree with letting my fellow sinners CON themselves into believing that they can embrace Satan’s ways, and still be saved! We all need to be aware that sin, no matter how great or small we THINK it is, is not defined on a sliding scale! It is simply SIN! It is filth in the eyes of the one who is sinless! And you can’t have a little filth every now and then, and expect the one who is without sin, to say to you, on the day you leave this world:
“Well done good and faithful servant.”
As I asked one of my Arkansas friends, who believed God would say this to him:
“So looking at the examples set by Jesus, and then by His Apostles, and disciples, what have YOU done to deserve God’s praise?”
He certainly didn’t deserve any praise for the off-color words he had for me in response! As for you, I would advise that you do not make church attendance a matter of salvation! When you do that, you cause someone who is searching for the right church (Which is often motivated by the Holy Spirit) to compromise, and select the wrong church, one that might lead them to false doctrines!
The right church will feel like the right church! That’s what I’m searching for. And that’s what MANY Christians, without a church, are searching for! Some of us may never find what we’re looking for, it is 2020 after all! But they certainly do not need someone fanning the flames of fear, over whether they should or should not attend some earthly church! If church will help them, then God will lead them. If it won’t help, then they don’t need someone telling them they’ll end up in hell if the don’t attend a church.

@@glorygr6 Of course you can experience Christian community outside of church. Why does that mean we shouldn't make an effort to find a group of Christians we can fellowship with "inside a building with 4 walls"? It's hard to be a part of a a family when we aren't present to take part in the experience. One thing we should all keep in mind is that there are often people "we don't like" in our family. That may very well be some people that we meet at church.
We need to be an example of Christ in the situations where we come across people we don't like and show them love regardless of how they treat us. We all feel like, "if someone looks at me cross when I go to church i'm not welcome and I should just leave and have "church" at my house all alone apart from my family". It's impossible to be a true child of God and not go to church. " As iron sharpens iron so one man sharpens another" it's selfish to not go and then make excuses. God knows your hearts and the real reasons why we go or don't go. I don't feel like going every week but I don't go by how I'm feeling that day. It's not an emotional decision, it's a life long choice, as long as his grace will take me. Think of this verse. " My grace is enough for you for my strength and made perfect in weaknesses" God doesn't give us more grace than we need nor does he give us too little. Like the pastor said in the video. God wants you to use your gift to glorify him. The church also needs talents and some of our resources that God has blessed us with. The pastor cannot pay all the bills on his own. My question is to people who makes excuses. Why will God gives us gifts that we will never use?

The main problem I recognize with your statement was already answered by Jesus. He said the temple will be destroyed and in 3 days (His Body) will raise it up. The church leaders and officals were stuck on a building and missed Christ totally, and actually begin plotting to kill Christ. Whether or not believers have a building or not, an ark, or any physical representation of Christ body; Believer's will use their gifts where Jesus intended us too. God will continue to pair the believer's He needs together, to accomplish His will. "Whether two or three gather, Jesus will be in the midst. Why would Jesus do this? To be salt (flavors) and light (illuminates) to the world (marketplace), Not to be buried under a basket (building).

Question: I know that church is important and I agree with following the lifestyle of the Messiah and his teachings. But how does one know which church is right? Supporting money hungry preachers? And when your spirituality starving? You can’t just support a church that’s dead and dying.
I’m just asking these questions because I see to many people going to church and coming out the same way they went into it. I see to much carnal Christianity. I see to many folks being lead the wrong way. I see to many folks not knowing how to survive spiritual warfare. So how do folks understand the move of the Most High in these churches today and still be lost because of church’s?
The message is true but folks need to be directed to the right kind of churches to support as well as grow spiritually the right way. To many folks going to hell from church now that should raise a red flag.
One thing in this video the brother forgot to mention is when he mention Christ going to the church which in his day is called synagogues. And most of the time Christ went in there to preach and teach the people the right way aside of the wrong teachings of the priests. That’s why I pose these questions, yes church is important but getting to the right ones is even more important. We just can’t go around strengthening the hands of evil doers in churches. And one more important reason is we are taught in the Holy scriptures by the apostle Paul not to forget to assemble ourselves with one another. Church is to be like a hospital! It’s sad to see in these days no one is getting better!

ONE!! Do you see how sad the testimony of Christendom is? When are they divided by different names more than the name of Christ? Does it come to us that this is denying the testimony of the practice of "one body"?!No "Christian" denomination represents the name of Christ.

I'm very concerned about going to churches not teaching sound doctrine/ traditions of men, having these idols up in the sanctuary (Christmas trees/ Easter eggs), lies about offerings versus tithing, neglecting the unsaved, and money changing. How can I trust someone who leads in that way? Then when you show them (in the scripture) the error, they ostracize you and act as if you're the one who's crazy. Give up our Christmas tree excuse me: "Saturnalia" and "Sol Invictus" celebrations? Their excuses: "God knows my heart." "He'd never send me to hell over a Christmas tree". "Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft." I have trust issues. I sought God about this a lot. If he shows me a church that can be trusted, I will go. But I feel that if I'm sitting in a church that has an idol in the sanctuary, I am partaking in that sin. Just like those who sit under a false teacher like so many out there. Anyone have any advice for me getting past those roadblocks???🧐🤔😟

I feel everyone interprets the Bible so differently but at the end of the day... Church can help believers who are not so disciplined in reading the word and praying and who are still new to the words... it has definitely helped me with all my questions I have learned to study the Bible and I have also started counseling at a local church it has saved my marriage and I feel at home around others who believe it Jesus Christ. If you don’t find a church ur comfortable in pray about it. The Holy Spirit will guide you. Don’t go by what others tell you read it for yourself and pray for guidance and believe me God will answer...

Thank you for the response and so I shall answer your question. I did careful consideration to make sure I got the details right so sorry for the wait. My path to Atheism likely happened more subconsciously as for I never really knew I was Atheist until I heard that word. I believe for a while I was actually holding Christian and Atheist beliefs at the same time for quite a while and I'm not sure why but I just thought they just fitted together. I don't why exactly I became Atheist but that is why it happened more subconsciously. I think I eventually realized that The Bible has parts of it that argue the theory of evolution and the Big Bang, so without knowing just made a decision as to which belief I would follow. I know parts of this may not make sense and may jump around but I really don't know how to explain the path I followed to my belief so sorry if parts of this don't go into the detail you wanted but this is how I explain it.

  • @carlrooker
    @carlrooker Před 6 lety +1

I'm going to admit first off that I am not a very good church attender. There are reasons for that, which I'm not going to get into at this point.
However, one of your points was that only 20% of Americans attend church on a regular basis. There are several reasons for this.
    1. Way too many Church attenders talk as if attending church services on Sunday is the point. They are incorrect in this. The point is Jesus Christ himself, and the true church is the body of all who have received Jesus Christ as their lord and savior whether they attended church or not.
    2. The lack of love between people in any given Church. Many people make a good talk, but they don't walk the talk. They often neglect those that are hurting in the church and just let them slip away. We are told in the Bible that if we do not love we do not know God, for God is love.
    3. The lack of love Christians have for those that go to other churches. When we look down on those that belong to other churches because of differences of opinion, we are again disobeying the law of love. I'm not talking about those who disavow the fundamentals of the faith. I'm talking about people who actually claim Jesus Christ as their lord and savior, but look down on other groups because they have a different understandings of some things. Example would be predestination versus free will. We would be much better off to accept that others have a different idea on some things but are still our Brothers and Sisters in Christ.
    4. Judging people on insignificant or false details within any given Church. When I was first a believer in Christ I was regularly attending a church, when all of a sudden a couple came up to me and started lecturing me about smoking. Problem was I don't smoke and never did. But they were judging me, and I had no idea why. Turns out what the problem was is that my parents smoked heavily, and I was used to the smell. I did not know that the smell was on my clothing because of their smoking. The point was they were judging me falsely on something that God does not forbid, and for something that I wasn't even doing.
    5. Very often mankind makes up rules and laws that God never intended. And then they judge people on these rules that they have made up.
Now, I want to make it clear. I am not against attending church. However, these five things I brought up is what is making church attendance irrelevant to people. I am not saying this to judge people, it is something the Lord has put on my heart for several years now. The real reasons why people have found the church irrelevant, and the gospel is because we as Christians are forgetting that. Jesus is the point, and commands us to love each other.

Cole The VII I feel I can answer. Very few churches gather on the actual Sabbath day, honestly I think Catholics are the only ones who do. As they hold services daily. But Easter is considered the Lord's day because of his resurrection. Gathering Sunday and recognizing that as the Sabbath I believe is ok. God made the Sabbath day for us. A day set aside to rest...... so long as it is kept holy I don't see harm in it...... besides the way we in the western world are we begin our weeks on Monday anyway so Sunday would actually be our Sabbath....... pray for clarification as God reveals all😉

    • @GenevaPilgrim
      @GenevaPilgrim Před 6 lety +3

      Way off here Jo Mo.
Jesus was NOT resurrected on Sunday or Easter for that matter. It would appear that he was raised on the day AFTER Unleavened Bread which would be the 16th AND also the first day of the week since Sabbath (weekly AND the first day of Unleavened Bread) fell on the 15th and this particular Sabbath was a "high day" because it was both the weekly Sabbath AND the first day of Unleavened Bread. There was not even such a thing as "Sunday" in Jesus's day and it was an 8 day week for the Romans with the names of the days of the week as letters A-H on the FIRST Julian calendar. (not the second one that changed to 7 days still with letters A-G then) Obviously today we are n the Gregorian calendar.
Jews kept their Sabbaths (which are called "Moedim" which means "appointed days") by the cycle of the moon, NOT the sun. So if we are being technical and I am, the Moedim (appointed times like Sabbath and festival days) according to scripture should be calculated by the Soli-lunar calendar which starts every month with a new moon. The moon guides the setting of the months and the sun guiding what constitutes a day as in "sunrise to sunset". But the MOON appoints the days of the month. Every month starts with a "new moon" (chodesh) See the literal Hebrew words in Psalm 104:19. You will see I am being honest. This means they were not on a continuous cycle of a Sabbath every seven days like they are today because the moon has a 29.5 day cycle. So there was a new moon at the first day, then 7 days later on the 8th a Sabbath, then the 15th, the 22nd, the 29th and then 0-1 day until new moon then you start all over with the 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th etc. Every other month were 29 and 30 days. Occasionally an extra month was added and this is evident in Ezekiel 4 and 8 from the time Ezekiel lays on his side for the full 430 days for both the house of Judah and the house of Israel until the time he is sitting in his house after he is done includes the extra month that year.
Jews changed their Sabbath to Saturday and again-Jews could NOT be keeping their Sabbath on "Saturday" in Jesus's day because there was no such thing as "Saturday". Jews counted time as "First day of the Sabbath, second day of the Sabbath, third day of the Sabbath" and so forth until they got to the actual Sabbath day. They changed their Sabbath to Saturday to be more compliant with the world pagan calendar system. True fact. This isn't something I learned at church, this is something I spent weeks studying out in scripture about the new moons and the Sabbaths then I looked at history to see when and how it changed. There are three kinds of days in scripture: New moon days, work days and Sabbaths-all different.
Sadly, we live in a pagan world with a pagan reckoning of time. This is why Daniel said that the king to come would think to change the times and laws of God. (Daniel 7:25) this prophesy has already happened. God created time when he made the sun and moon. (Genesis 1:14) God operates completely outside of our worldly system and only those who have the Spirit and seek truth will see these things as they STUDY (not just read) the Bible line upon line and precept upon precept rightly dividing the word of God and studying to show thyself approved.
Now, if we WANT to meet everyday of the week-fantastic! That's what the early believers in Messiah did BY CHOICE. But it is not required according to God's law. What IS required is rest on the True Sabbath AND honoring GOD'S Sabbaths and the festival days which are special Sabbaths called "high Sabbaths" where some do require rest while others call for celebration and meeting with the congregation of other believers. There is one exception of a Sabbath that does not fall on one of the regular weekly Sabbaths and that is the Day of Atonement which is on the 10th which is not a weekly Sabbath therefore it is not considered a "high day" or high Sabbath.
But don't just take my word for these things, by all means study them out. We are told to TEST EVERYTHING. If you are able to see this in scripture, it will not be well received because people in powerful positions in ANY Denomination have their minds set on their own church doctrine and do not like being told the truth of Scripture when it contradicts their dogma. I go to church. Mostly I keep these truths to myself or blog about them. If people are not ready and prepared by the Spirit to hear the truth it doesn't do much good to tell them. These are not necessarily salvation issues, so there is no need to beat people over the head with it, but you said Sunday was a Sabbath and Easter was a special day and I could not let that go unchecked.

While many of you are right about the church not being somewhere you go to but the people, you are wrong to cast judgement of weather or not he is for the Lord. In today's world it is common for Anyone to call church a building. Only the Lord knows our heart and he judges it. We are the bride as the members of the body of Christ. All of us on this earth are his children and have been saved by his sacrifice. So, none of us are worthy of his grace. Yet he loves us so much that he gives it to us anyway. And he wants us to live each other just as he has loved us. So instead of casting stones, remember that you are guilty of sin yourself. That means that everyone and everything was still under the old law, the old covenant, the old testament. Things changed after the cross. And one of the things that changed was that there was no special day where people had to attend the assembly. As Paul says, every day is alike. he's confusing the meaning of church when he says
    in church or church
    is a place.
church is not a building 4 walls
real church is group Jesus followers
built together as one body (family) - discipled and lead by the Spirit aka Jesus
look back at Jesus and his desiples (body in Christ) He took his church everywere wilderness, flee markets, and towns where there will be challenges through Faith so his desiples get to know Jesus more in there relationship that He is God and He is salvation but
in our American culture churches most percent have given up Faith in Jesus and been lead by mens works and became followers of men(religious/secular)
    men have turn
    church into a box
keep you bussy they out there cuz worried you get dirty (like the pharisees thought)
    theater lip service entertainment the
performers and audience come to speak/hear the truth/the gospel but most don't have the passions or character to want to live out the Gospel while a few do.
open your bible and read Jude it will speek more
    be a living active church
    be a salt in light
salt doesn't stay gathered up in a jar
then there wouldn't be an experience of the flavor
why gather more candles box better to spread them out cuz less space more heat (out of control, pride and jealousy) can cause fire.
take light where it needs to shine to the dark.

We can gather in the park, underwater, in a cave and in the forest. We will still be church of Christ. We are a church because we help one another, and we worship God together. We are to support one another not to attend for show!

Let’s not give up meeting. As some are in the habit of doing.

Most of us are guilty of seeing in the Bible only what we want to see, whether or not we want to own up to that fact.
That said, what do we do with verses such as Hebrews 10:25, which tells us not to forsake assembling ourselves together, as some do. Also 1Timothy 3:15 which tells us what the pillar and ground of the truth is. Also, what about Matthew 16:18, what does Jesus say he will do in that verse.
I believe that the teachings Jesus gave his apostles, they in turn taught, and passed those teachings on through faithful men they chose as their successors, aka bishops, who were to faithfully pass those teachings generation by generation throughout time, to the present day!
Notice please, I said bishops, not just one bishop in one particular city.
I believe God uses the various denominations, to draw us to Himself, but I think He means for us to find that faith which was once delivered to the saints.
