I have enjoyed all of your videos. Old traditions. I'm glad to see someone to teach these methods. God help us in today's world.
I'm glad to hear you are enjoying them! I enjoy sharing them ☺️ God help us all indeed, the world is getting crazier every day it seems.
In Australia, stinging nettles always grows alongside doc weed aka marshmallow plant. If you are stung by nettles, grab a handful of doc, crush in hand and rub over the nettle sting. It is the natural antidote.
Marshmallow and Nettle are great companions!
That's wonderful and good to know.
That's very cool!!!
I am from a tribe in the NW. during the 1970’s my grandpa gathered all types of native grown seeds, bark and plants like stinger nettle. For the most part my grands would make tea out of most of it, but she also made a paste, for skin rashes and infections. Ya, been used for a long time.
metal rocks 🤘 Sting is okay
Super video. Thank you Cora for all of the knowledge. I have learned a lot from you over the years.
Thanks for the video & info. 👍🏼💜
❤ love your info!!! Beautiful forest you foraged from.
💕😘
One of our staple foods. We eat it all the time. I make infusions from it, tincture it, feed it to the chickens by adding dried nettle to their winter feed. The longer you cook it, the more vitamin A is released as cell walls break down.
Good tip on the vitamin A! Thanks for sharing 😀
I wanted to be sure of identifying what I thought were nettles and found your video. Thank you for making such an informative and useful video. A pleasure to watch.
I'm so glad to hear it! Thanks for taking the time to comment, it means a lot!
Atta' Girl...😊
Good info as always. Thanks , we have used the roots for teething babies for longer than I’ve been around.
Thank you for sharing!
great info thanks!
Great! Nettle pesto!
I just learned, stinging nettle leaves are beneficial protection against breast cancer.
Nettles are amazing!
Herbal medicine! Cool!🎉
I love it, so glad to see the interest in natural healing growing!
Question: Do you do anything to deal with the stingy bits as you prepare the leaves and stems for use? I would have presumed either cutting off the stems, or fast blanching as with other semi toxic plants. I love the tincture idea, Thanks!!
I will sometimes blanch for the purpose of longer-term freezer storage quality, but i believe nettles are safe to consume raw as long as you crush them thoroughly so that they no longer sting (blending takes care of this very effectively). Hope that helps answer your question ☺️ thanks for reaching out!
How did you cultivate Nettle on your property? I found some wild Nettle in my local park and want to try to grow some in my yard.
The seeds are pretty easy to start, and if you plant them in a damp, part shade spot, they are very low maintenance! I linked some seeds in this video description ☺️
@@apinchofpatience thanks a lot!
Always wear long sleeve shirt/sweat shirt and trouser, no shorts.
"Tincture" has no "S" in the middle when pronouncing it. FYI. 😉
Do I say it funny? Lol there are definitely some things I don't realize I pronounce oddly until it's on video 😂
