- This pick up bed crane from Harbor Freight has been installed on my utility trailer for about 6 months now. It’s held up in the weather ok and has served me great. One of the handiest tools I own. I’ve used my crane to pick up (empty) 250 gallon IBC totes, 3 point blades, zero turn mowers and other equipment.
Devices that save you body are some of the most important tools to own. You can buy another crane, you can't buy another spine
God bless America. What would we do without all these amazing tools that are hard to come by in many countries but we can just go pick one up from the store up the street.
Replace The winch with an electric one with a hand held remote. Make life easy.
a simple small cover over the jack area will keep things from rusting or do like i do and dismount only the top half keep in garage or back seat of track to keep out of weather. place a plastic soda bottle cap on the remaining tube to keep water out for those with out a hole through.
Is it good for engines?
Thanks for the review! I’m debating between this and an electric winch, same idea. I would use mine fairly often, and I just don’t want to pump and pump and pump. Next I’ll see if anyone had a solution to use a drill to pump a jack, seems like it should be fairly easy..i reckon I’ll do the same you did, except I don’t think I’ll bolt it on the trailer, I’ll just weld it in. One less thing to worry about, usually HF hardware is lacking..
Add you one of the badland 2500lb electric winch. It makes this thing a breeze with the remote. Best addition to any truck/service bed.
What kind of jack is used in their floor jacks?
yeah but did you see the release of the weight when turning the screw on the hydraulic jack. That looked really unpleasant. Does the winch allow for a slower release into your transport vehicle or trailer?
Used a crane like this for load large blocks of woods with log pincers. No issues worked great. Replaced hand crank winch with DC volt winch and worked great too.
Just saw your video. Neat idea/project. I’ll be doing something similar. Definitely a body part saver. Thanks again!
Very useful and honest. Thanks Stuart 🇦🇺
Thanks for sharing I’m definitely doing this to mine
Thanks for this video. I’m looking at one of these for a motorized wheelchair.
Good video. I have a question. Where do you get the cap or plug for the jack bottle? Thack you.
just when i though it would be nice to have a crane on my trailer… did you mount the crane to the trailer? do you need any outriggers/support to lift the heavy stuff? nice video. my trailernis smaller. 1500 lb. my target is firewood.
Nice video
Hi… how tall gets the bloom? At its max extension… btw… very useful your review since I’m planning to use the crane in a similar application… thanks
hi I just watched you video, thanks for sharing I've a question ,I intend to use it for hauling firewood from my ground level up to my patio deck through a flip door in the patio. due to the tight angles, I think I will be only using the hand crank, do you think its possible to lift approx. 250 -300 lbs. ?
Thought about buying one for the just in case moments..... good reveiw✅
