I was an early adopter of the Allpowers S2000 and have to say that when it worked, it was really good. In fact I loved it and recommended it to friends. But I'd now think twice about using it in a mobile environment. It's simply not robust enough. The very first time I took it away in the caravan it broke. Something inside shook loose and started rattling. It no longer charges from mains though everything else works. There were no falls, no bumps and it was secured on a foam cushion as are my Lithium batteries. I contacted Allpowers directly and asked where I could get it fixed (at my own cost), they said i'd have to buy a new one. Yes, I can still charge it from solar but that's hardly practical in a Scottish winter. Essentially they are not interested, so after little more than a year it was a £1200 brick. I absolutely intend to buy a replacement but sadly it will definitely NOT be an Allpowers.
125 AH capacity the Allpowers S2000 Monster X Pro..lol..Could buy a125ah lithium, buy a 380-400w fold up with inbuilt charger..Use a good inverter..All for under a third of the price....Mel it's a fancy box mate..

I have the Allpowers Monster X 2000w output and 3300w max surge output solar generator. For the last year and a bit. Great unit for wild camping. I can run my Mo Health Air fryer for 10 days no problem. Here in Ireland I wild camp alot. Also it has quick charging from Ac 1.5 hrs as it uses the full power from the socket.
Hay Mel if your struggling to find enough space in your van for all these differant power banks you keep testing, im sure as a favour I can find room to store one for you, 😉 😂

Mel, I know you get sent a lot of these power packs for free and I don’t begrudge you them , but if you had to buy them your self like us mere mortals which would you buy with your own money or would you pick something else. This is a massive setup your testing if you had to buy it would you.

Mel, good video. I've 2 of these packs used in our van and in our home. One powers our installed diesel heater and Mrs is currently cooking on another. They are the mutts nuts, no matter the comment from trols. All I will say the 799 price is fantastic, but mine was more expensive but came with 400w solar panels. When the need arises, I connect the whole van up to power coffee, laptop and have ample supply of rechargeable energy. Even use the vans panel on the road but split so it doesn't have any van mppt issues with the AP having its own. Endless power

great review, problem with using induction cook tops for boiling water is if you use at 2000w full temp, they break / crack after a while. Mine did anyway, twice.

Pity those AC sockets are right above and close to some of the other ports, eg the 12v ciggie one. Can imagine the AC cables will interfere/foul them...but then again you can always just use an extension lead or multiplug etc.

I am looking for a power station to start a diesel heater via the 12v DC outlet. Is this the only one you know of that can do this. Love your workshop, just the job for a van conversion project.
I’d recommend a Bluetti AC 200 Max
Impressive product and seems to be a good price considering it‘s power and capacity. But will you find the problem of cold weather lithium battery switch off an issue with you not keeping your diesel heater on overnight. Following on from that thought how about trying a max/min thermometer to check your temperature from switch off time to switch on time.

Nice little power pack
A 1500 watt power unit that suggests 2000 watts via its advertising name... Hmm. "Can it run a diesel heater?" All proper power banks can run a diesel heater, the real question is how long can they really. That all depends on the power bank capacity and the battery quality. Just like with smartphones, every battery has a quality drop-off. That remaining time indicator has quite an ADHD issue: changing that display upto 10 times a second is not helping. TBH, I would try to (also) have a microwave oven in my camper. It is quicker and about half as energy-demanding with a single cup of water than putting a big kettle on an induction cook top.

Unfortunately mine seems to be faulty won’t switch back on after it turns itself off when it’s not in use. Only way to get it to come back on is by plugging it in to the mains

Funnily enough, since there's half a dozen Amazon listings for this, there was one that was the X Pro and 3 100w solar pannels for $950 with a coupon. I thought it was kind of sketchy, especially when the station arrived early with no panels. But sure enough, they came a few days later. It might be a knockoff using AllPowers branding though. You never know with China. So I can't vouch for the longevity of this thing. But if it's genuine, it's a steal.
Hi Mel have you thought about trying one of those small electric kettles which just hold a cup of water not sure if they are still available or not but I think they only draw about 4 or 500 Watts

i ran every thing from a movable 100watt panel in the winter..its surprising how much energy u can harvest if you can angle the panels at the sun
Too true, trouble is I use so much energy moving the panels all day.
I've got an 80w panel on the van roof fixed no need for sun as long as the sky is bright it charges my battery

What's the drawback to Lithium power packs as opposed to LiFe Lithium Iron Phosphate besides the number of recharges?

Have to say, I'm getting a little fed up with all the powerbank reviews I'm seeing in the vanlife community. It must be lovey getting a 2 grand bank and panel system gifted to you so you can essentially do the selling for the company. However, most people can't afford that outlay sadly. Not knocking you personally Mel but these 'reviews' are rife and quite frankly rub people's noses in it who are on a tight budget.
