A couple notes as I used this case on my 6 & 7 Pro as well. 1. When you remove the protective sticker from the fingerprint circle on the case you don't stick anything on your phone screen. You put your phone in the case directly against it. 2. The raised portion around the camera lens protection area is not raised enough. Just resting your phone on its backside on your desk over time will allow that area to become scratched and hazy fairly quickly. Once this happens your picture quality will be affected substantially because the camera lenses are taking pictures through scratched plastic now. Not sure why Ghostek didn't have more of a lip on this section. 3. This may be because I'm left handed but having the wrist lanyard on the left bottom corner is not practical at all because I carry the phone in my right hand. They really should have had an attachment hole on the lower right corner as well. I would not recommend this case for everyday use due to the camera lens cover issue. Rather have it as a reserve to use when going to the pool or beach. I got this one for my 8 Pro but also bought the Covert case for every day use.
On a side note: Before trading in my 7 Pro I removed the annoying fingerprint circle from the case completely. I did have to use some Goof Off / Goo gone to remove completely but my fingerprint reader worked perfectly still and you don't have the annoying circle on the screen anymore

When I pulled the little circular film away there was some adhesive that stayed on the display area. You have to look very carefully to see it, it is hard to see.

that's the reason why I mentioned, you might want to buy some camera glass protectors

companies are bound to miss something 🤔 especially like having cutouts for lanyards on both sides of the case instead of one

Great review of this case! I was really disappointed to find out that Ghostek is NOT going to make their aluminum Atomic Slim case for the Pixel 8 phones. Apparently they are phasing it out completely.
I'm surprised that my Ghostek PR guy hasn't mentioned that to me 🤔
Going to have to send an email and ask him what's going on Series ☹️
@@myproject13ttt, I asked them through their contact me page and asked specifically about the Atomic slim for the Pixel 8 Pro and that was the answer I got. The person did say something about a modular case of some sort being introduced. They already have the Exec case, so maybe it will be another aluminum case similar to the Exec. Hopefully, you can get more info on this one way or the other. 😊
Would you choose this Ghostek Nautica Slim case or the Poetic Guardian? They appear to be very similar. I'm not huge on the magnet, but I do like the different color bezels on the Poetic case. The buttons seem nicer on the Ghostek case though.
That's a hard one because I think they're both equally a great choice, as far as protection.

Could you show a video of yourself doing a water submersion test? The video from Ghostek is fine, but I got one for the Pixel 8 after all of the positive reviews and water leaked in through the top immediately.
I dried it off, let it sit overnight so any small amounts of water could clear, then did the test again. I was suuuuper careful to tightly secure every part of the case, and water seeped right in again during the second submersion test.
Did you have different results? Could you put up a video? I want to get a waterproof case for my new Pixel 8, but the unit I received didn't work at all to that end.
Did you let Ghostek know what happened in your situation?
I'm not going to do that type of test I don't take my devices in the water.
But I would definitely get in touch with the company and see if they can send out another case?
Does the case peal off the tempered glass with time? That what happened with my pixel 7. Dont want to spend 50 bucks again with pixel 8

I really need this to not have a built in screen protector, detachable atleast.
I'm being driven bonkers by this, as I really want a super protective case, but I refuse to have that cheap plastic BS covering my screen. I always use tempered glass. Had the same issue with a protective case for one of my tablets, and I ended up just cutting the plastic film out of the frame...but I shouldn't have had to. Why these companies put so much thought, time, and money into these products only to semi-ruin them with plastic screen "protectors" is beyond me.
It's a decent case but the amount of fingerprints that you're going to have just putting it on is going to be crazy

It also says to remove screen protectors
Also, the amount of fingerprints left during this video installation messed with my OCD severely, lmao
