- Paul Dunkel discusses his studies with Bob Di Domenica, Sam Baron and particularly William Kincaid. He also offers a humorous story about his studies with Julius Baker and how he ended up playing flute. Both Jean-Pierre Rampal and James Galway are talked about as Paul reflects on his career as both a flutist and conductor. A demonstration of a Kincaid "Finger Twister" is provided as well.

Thank you for this marvelous interview of Paul. It brought back so many happy memories!
Thanks so much for making this happen and for sharing it. EVERY young flutist should watch this both for the history and for the personality.
Hello Mr. Joffe I have learned so much from all your videos. I was a former student of yours at NJCU. I took an instrumental conducting course with you. You were one of the best teachers at NJCU
This was so enjoyable. What a valuable look into flute history! There were times when I knew what Paul was going to say next, the flutists, the etudes... Loved his non-pretentious, laid-back, honest demeanor. I've shared the video with my students and hope they will enjoy it as much as I did. Thank you.
This is a great interview! Wonderful stories and great to hear about this time in musical history!

Wonderful to hear!
Paul is simply one great guy. With a mind as sharp as a tack and razor wit, I was always left with his kindness. Oh yeah, and a pretty damned good flutist too :)
Fascinating.Thank you.
