Have you tried using tape before using a brush and soap?
I have tried to remove a bit of the lining in one of my old LV bags and it also worked.
but of course you also use soap too😄

For the future I would put the flaking interior into a plastic bag not the sink otherwise you can clog your pipes
No before photo ? Oh looked like it was in good condition that tag looks a little flimsey do you know what year this bag is, the tags are usually very thick for Gucci.

Hey! I haven’t had to fix any bags with a musty smell sorry. But I would maybe try some kind of shoe deodorant, I know products like that exist 👟✨
