The thing that I like most about you is that you have total control of what you're doing. Not just beating the skins... but total control and aware of the entire song one note, one phrase at a time. RockOn.
"On the intro, Scott Rockenfield plays it with his hi-hat & ride. My version is NOT note-per-note. " Rockenfield plays EVERYTHING with his hi-hat. Seriously, I think you could take away everything on the kit but the hi-hat and he'd still rock it out. I never really thought of hi-hat as anything more than a way to keep time until I discovered Queensryche about 5 years after their peak (I lived a sheltered life, what can I say?)
How the hell do you memorize something so intricate. Drums seems like it's one of the hardest instruments to master, and not just physically. Impressive!
...Holly Shit! ..I'm a musician and i've seen many drummers fail miserably trying to pull this one out. Thank you for showing everyone how big Rockenfield was for queensryche's almost operatic sound...Keep on rockin' Bro!!!!
EXTREMELY Cool! I have watched this video several times and enjoyed it very much....... -Would love to see more videos of you drumming to (pre-Empire) Queensryche tunes.
Ive been a touring metal drummer for over 20 years now... and I gotta say that them fuckers are the funnest songs ta rehearse with! GREAT FUKN JOB BROTHAH!!
Oh yes. Thank you. Very sweet. I miss this sound on the skins. Where did all the double bass drummers go? Maybe I'm just not listening hard enough, but it seems like nobody has really wailed on the drums since the metal era.
Was just searching for my favorite band "Queensryche" and came across this. You kicked ass dude. Rockenfield would of been proud. But we all know Neil Peart is the Drummer God. for your 37th video it would be cool to see you play "Spirit of Radio". I'm Out Later
Hey, I don't know what is wrong with the internet. Some people just seem to use it as carte blanche license to insult good people. Make sure you disregard negative comments. I loved that video dude. Love your work. I wish you were playing in my band. Rock On John
Had to comment on the skills, man. The skills, and your wide taste of music. Just saw your vids a few minutes ago for the first time and the Queensrÿche vid threw me off guard. I was like: "Someone who likes to rock TooL and Korn like to rock Queensrÿche too?! Just like me!" :D Also glad to see that no one has anything shitty to say about Geoff Tate's mighty voice. Was expecting a million of those, lol.
F*ckin' good!!! Nice done Man! Verry good song, with a brilliant drummer :-) I saw Queensryche last week in Brussels. Great band.Nice concert. I'am going to see more from your videos.
I thought you were Spot on dude. It was neat to watch and cool to hear the drums accenuated in the song... it's a really good song to show off your talent.
Mindcrime is a good album, if you haven't heard it yet you might want to check out their Promised Land album. I don't know where your from, but here it has to be ordered. It's my favorite album from Queensryche.
That is indeed excellent. I prefer a more literal interpretation--your cymbal work, and indeed some of the tom fills were not the originals. But for giving it your own interpretation, this is killer! I'm wholly impressed!!
Fantastic!! This Queenryche song was and is one of my favorites!!
Great, simply great. Drumming at its best. Thank you.
Queensryche was one of my favorite bands. 'Operation mindcrime' is timeless album.
The thing that I like most about you is that you have total control of what you're doing. Not just beating the skins... but total control and aware of the entire song one note, one phrase at a time.
RockOn.
I could watch you all day man. I didn't realize how difficult this song is to play. The end kicks ass.
The drum fills at the end of the song are probably the best I've ever heard to finishi a song.
Wow, amazing, LOVED watching this!!
"On the intro, Scott Rockenfield plays it with his hi-hat & ride. My version is NOT note-per-note. "

I'm more of a drum&bass kind of guy, but even I've got to admit - great song played out with absolutely amazing talent!
Dude, I just LOVE the rolls beginning at 5:04...one of the best parts in the entire song!
Damn, near perfect. I've been playing for 35 years and couldn't do better.
This is my favorite cover that you've done.
Straight-jacket-memories, and sedative highs! Nice job man!
How the hell do you memorize something so intricate. Drums seems like it's one of the hardest instruments to master, and not just physically. Impressive!
You're very talented, I know this video is very old now, but if you're still with Black Metal Box, they're lucky to have you, keep it up.
great drumming, sophisticated band to cover, looking at some of your bands music and looking forward to seeing you pound it out live sometime
...Holly Shit! ..I'm a musician and i've seen many drummers fail miserably trying to pull this one out. Thank you for showing everyone how big Rockenfield was for queensryche's almost operatic sound...Keep on rockin' Bro!!!!
Wow! So impressive and I just played Rock Band for the first time and those "drums" were hard!!!!

Really nice work. You stay relaxed and appear to use a light touch. But you rock the f&*# out of it. Rockenfield is not easy. Keep on.

Dude, You have the chops and you nailed the tune dead nuts. It is a great tune and Scott is a great drummer. You threw down bro. Way to go.

Dude, you're so f*n great! Keep on going! This is one of my favourite songs.
Just breath taking!!Try playing "Seasons in the Abyss" by Slayer, cause Dave Lombardo put all his drum fantasy into that song.
OMG that was fantastic!!!!!
VERY GOOD, EMOCIONANT
Really nice work. Did justice to the original drumming without making it a completely different song.
