I have watched Sir David Attenborough for over 50 years and never cease to be amazed at what he has given us. Now I am a lot older understand the affinity he with all animals. This is a wonderful clip of the bowerbird.
wow the most amazing part was that the BIRD put up those pillars! nature rocks
Thank you, David Attenborough.
"...For a bird with a passion for interior decoration." Amazing! If, for the sake of argument, a sentient species evolves from a bower bird-like species, imagine how beautiful their cities would be!
There is already a sentient species evolved from the bower bird, called the bower bird
This is so beautiful! I think it's my new favorite bird. :)
Awesome. The hard work from this bird is so important because how well he does determines if he will attract a mate to carry on his genes
Numerous times, you see the bird place an object and then rearrange it until he's satisfied. It's obvious the bird is not doing anything haphazardly and is genuinely concerned with the aesthetics of the bower. That is amazing.
birds must be nature's best architects. LOVE the 2 little columns propping up the roof!
Thank you for the glimpse to a marvelous creature...
Such effort. What a little treasure of a bird.
What a lovely home he's built for his mate...I'll bet his birdie will really appreciate it whether she needs it or not.
Have two in our backyard.
Been watching from the window of our home office.
Will never get any work done.
The bird: Sorts stuff
Me: I like this one.
Bird is such a living thing with characteristic of art. What has this bird done for his life partner! Amazing work!
BBCWorldwide - can you reupload this at a higher bitrate? It is after all about visual detail.

that video strikes a little too close to home
David Attenborough....my hero:)
the bird knows more about decorating than i do.
I love how the bower birds are so fussy and tweaky, it's funny.
No this thing doesn't go here, I must move it over there.. no, that's not right, moving it to this other place until it's just right, it's VERY VERY important !
wow the little pillars in the hut is super cuute!
What an incredible man.
I am involved in a team-building creative problem solving program called Destination Imagination. Last year, we were to structure a skit around an animal which was amazing in some quality. We chose the bowerbird and used this video as a major reference. We gave special thanks to David Attenborough.
What an incredible man.
When humans worry about our clutter , we only need watch the birds for a lesson.
Hmm, when can that bird come and fix my house? I think I could do with an interior designer of its quality.
"Pimp My Bower". Man I wish this bird was my flatmate, we'd be scoring all the chicks!!
This is impressive and awesome.
He is my hero i love to whatch him and hear is voice love insects and love who he explains everything! I give evrything to talk with him thunbs up if you agree!
GREAT WORK YOU PUT IN!!
That's the kind of bird that would shop at Pier 1.
David is the best Attenborough!
I really appreciate a keen aesthetic sense.
100% amazing

Superb!
Got that birdie lots of colorful items.
Birdies love colorful items.

Buen ejemplo para algunos seres humanos...

I cant really say much since it was made 13 years ago
Excellent video.-

excellent !
Just brilliant!! I was telling my friend about this the other day and he wouldn't believe me.
get a new friend
Bower birds have such incredible making skills. Their discernment, their ;Art, aesthetics, construction, arrangement, collections and beauty. Bower birds can choose. “If a male Bower bird thinks he has more luck seducing with pink he chooses pink flowers”. (He is not at all limited by his plumage alone).
Gorgeous!
soooo cute!!
amazing
que asombroso! Muy interesante cada día se aprende algo nuevo, me gustaría ver una segunda parte, en la que se vea como llega la hembra al nido :)
DAAAAAAAAAAAAT QUALITY
wow.. i love this cute bird
far as i know they are the only animal with a true sence of art....
brilliant
so beautiful
That is so sweet!
This was made in the 90s, before the days of 720p and 1080p.
cool and charming.
Impresionante como cada macho trae distintos presentes a su futuro hogar, me ha encantado conocer a ese pajarito tan bello.
That is so true. We must be related to the Bower Bird and the Bird of Paradise then.
Amazing!
This is nice stick
this is so cool!
Wow!!! This bird can think. i love the flower he pick. lol
Whoever discovered these nests first must have shat themselves thinking 'LOOK A FAIRY LABYRINTH!!!' I know I would have. Very interesting indeed.
this is by far the coolest shit I EVER saw!!!!
I really like Attenborough's style...
Bellisimo!!! conoci este pajaro gracias al cuento La lengua de las mariposas de Manuel Rivas y me entró la curiosidad.
@eennapusful The main message of the video is this: The bird in the video is a boy bowerbird. Bowerbirds build houses out of sticks, find things they think are pretty in the forest, and put them around the house. Every bird thinks different things are pretty. The boy bird does this to make a girl bird like him.
I hope this helps, or that someone who speaks your language can help you. =)
Absolutely! And according to the evolutionary biologist Jared Diamond they are "the most intriguingly human of birds". Truly fascinating birds!
I hear they come really cheap cheap...lol
You are right and in another who knows how many years something else will be explained scientifically and that is brilliant! In the meantime, what can be conceived by the mind is possible, p.s. what happened before there was nothing?
an interior designer bird!!! XD
I'm waiting for the bird clever enough to use rufees to get a mate!
amazing !
So glad I watched scishow
Next on an all new episode of "Cribs: Animal Kingdom edition"
that bird gots game!!
simply amazing:):):)
I loved this episode about bower birds, originally an hour long. I think bower birds are native to northern Australia and Borneo.
Just imagine how complex that birds brain must be. The amount of work that would need to be done to recreate it with AI and information technology is massive.
all i know is that life is phenomenologically valid--something is going on. It seems rather special, and i'm on the search for the most happiness i can contain. not sure what there really is else to search for
i want a bower bird to arrange my dream wedding
@platinumsalamander and the neatly trimmed moss lawn!
mARAVILLOZA NATUREZA
This is truly amazing. Such small bird.. wow.
that bird is like FOCUSED
bird: everything has to be perfect if im gonna get laid tonight
What an amazing bird! Nature is truly amazing, even the nastiest looking mongrels have stunning characters to them. I warmly recoment an open mind and nature wandering to all skeptics :)
-citygal (closeted nature wanderer ;))
Everyone wishes David Attenborough was their grandfather
I bet during filming the bird was like GODDAMNIT HUMAN, I'M TRYING TO GET LAID AND YOU'RE FUCKING UP THE COMPOSITION OF MY BEETLE WINGS!
They are like little people.. lol
The first person to find one of these bowers must have thought he was Gulliver!
This is the slowest i've ever seen a bird's head move!
Those are some huge acorns.
If you say you watch this for the birds and not for the sound of Attenborough's voice you are wrong
I watched for the birds.
Romántico y detallista. Me gustaría ser su pajarita ;)
Makes you think about human artistic behaviour!
