  • One of our first videos with the new #Insta360 camera. This thing is pretty neat. If you’re watching on your phone, you can move the phone around to see 360 degrees around the plane and the location where we are flying.
The plane is a 1946 Aeronca Champion 7DC. It has an 85hp Lycoming engine and it has great performance even on a summer day with two people on board. The plane is made of cloth covered tubing 😱 and is therefore very light (872lbs) shes light on the controls and a great stick and rudder plane to fly
It’s a beautiful day and a great day to fly with my oldest son.
Come with us as we enjoy old time flying like it used to be in the golden age of aviation. (and obviously still is when you’re flying an almost 80 year old airplane).
In future videos, I’ve found out that I can connect my headset via Bluetooth to the camera so I can narrate the videos.
But for now, sit back and enjoy the sounds of the engine and wind as we wind ourselves around some grass runways in beautiful upstate NY!
Leave a comment if you’ve ever flown a vintage airplane!

Rewatching this video and even without narration it really captures the essence of stick and rudder in a tube and fabric airplane. Low and slow!
