    Suzuki has a long history of seeing the competition, quietly analyzing over time what people complaints are, followed by releasing something that not only adresses what people ask for, but beats the competition.
    The GSXR750 still stands on its own as one of the best bikes on the market. Im actually very glad mine has no TC or ABS because the chassis is perfect and smooth it's never been an issue in B mode when its cold and slippery.

      I think the ergos on the R7 make it much more competitive on the track than the 8R. Obviously power and torque help and the power to weight ratios is also better but you can lean more on the R7 and really attack corners. Would love to see some track comparisons in the future.

    Higher US shipping charges for the R7 eliminate most of its price advantage. Will be interesting to see which one has the track advantage but for sure the GSX 8R will be a far better road bike because of its comfortable ergo's and therefore a more flexible/useful bike choice.

      Suspension upgrade cost ⁉️ Round up ⁉️

    • @richardwarsinske7064
      @richardwarsinske7064 Před 6 měsíci +3

      @@LOCKHIMUP2024 So far in all the track testing I've seen on the GSX 8S the stock KYB suspension has provided stable/track worthy performance + the Showa untis on the GSX 8R are claimed to be eve more sporting. Just because the R7's suspension is adjustable doesn't necessarily mean it will perform better so suspension mods may not be necessary. In the end for track use I estimate the Suzuki's downfall will be that it's less agile and more fatiguing to race because of it's extra weight making the R7 the better track choice. I don't think Suzuki is really trying to compete with the R7 at the track though and for any street application I can think of the GSX 8R will probably be superior.

    • @savagememes873
      @savagememes873 Před 6 měsíci

      yeah also the R7 is just a MT-07 in fairings or in other words a MT-07R but pretends to be a R7. the suzuki don't claim this to be a gixxer they know it's a street bike. if you want a track bike there are just so much better option out there on the market like a old SV650 which leaves you with plenty of money left over for mods and is easy to ride + extremely capable on track. i don't see the point in having a uncomfortable bike like the R7 just for the sake of pretending like you are some kind of sport bike racer because nobody on a R7 is a sport biker. there was one kid that got a R7 here in my town and he rode around all day long. when i went to the store on my bike he started to follow me and wanted to race me and shit. had to show him who's boss on my naked.

      I've owned/ridden all kinds of bikes, and currently have a R7 and still waiting to trade for the R9. It's disappointing and uncomfortable as a commuter, but it does fine in the twisties. Not sure these bikes are really competing with each other. Suzuki seems to be much more touring and daily friendly. R7 seems to be noticeably more track focused. If you don't do track days, the suzuki would make a better option. If you do track days then the R7 with it's lighter weight, more agressive geometry and fully adjustable front and back suspension should definitely perform better.

    • @savagememes873
      @savagememes873 Před 6 měsíci

      yeah but it would be financialy stupid to get a R7. att that point you are better of getting something used as a track bike. like a SV650 which is 10x cheaper to crash 10x cheaper to buy and far more fun on the track. it's the most popular begginer track bike for a reason. throw some fairings on and some cheap mods and you got yourself a perfect track bike. i don't see the use in ever buying something as new as a R7 and then worrying about actually dropping it.

      @@savagememes873 : 10x cheaper? Dude a SV650 cost $7500. Buy the time you upgrade the front suspension to something decent, you're already at the price of an R7. Man as a sv650s owner, I have been waiting for and wanted to love the gsx8-r but just can't. It's so ugly from the headlights surrounded in cheap plastics to the weird handle bars. The 8s looks so much nicer I dont know how they dropped the ball with the 8r. The R7 looks soooo good and has a proven engine, less rider aids (which I happen to like), and is lighter weight. The handle bars on the r7 can also be easily modified for comfort or track use. Glad other people like the 8r but I'm going to have to buy the yamaha.

      I think this is worse on the R7 as you've got the uncomfortable riding position without the top end to make up for it whereas the Suzuki is a nice affordable faired commuting bike. Regardless I expect they will both sell well as they look good, have screens and riding modes

    These videos crack me up. I ride mostly kawi sport bikes, ever one I owned there were videos lke this saying the gxxer or r series or cbr were the kawi nightmare, yet most times none beat mine for 1 huge reason, I have more skill than most as I have 40 plus yrs riding been to a few riding schools for racers and actually raced. I was able to out run bikes with better numbers due to the lack of rider skill on other bike and my skill on my bike. Grab any bike and the close competitors that are about same power weight etc. if handling close then skill is major major factor on who wins any race or fun run in the curves. it is better for riders to find bike that suits their talent and comfort level. Unfortunately if you have not been able to ride the bikes numbers is all you have and that means little. I have been smoed by slower bikes on paper cause rider was truly skilled and vice versa. The largest factor on any sport bike today as in same class all are so close in performance numbers is skill. want to beat the guys you ride with, take intro to racing class learn skills tricks and ride a lot to get familiar with bike and its limits. The right rider can take any 600 700 800 900 1000 and beat bikes that on paper are a bit quicker or faster with just a better skill set. This is something most riders never factor in their size weight and skill, that is largest speed limiter. I am small for guy 5 7 130lbs most 600 riders are 180 plus I have edge by weight alone even if they have equal skill but most do not as most guys I run across have never spent 1 second in a school or on a track, game set match I got all the advantages from the start You want to be faster on your 600 or 1000 get skills you will be faster than if you turbo charge it..other than straight line skill is the big speed booster
