And while you would probably not confuse the two: but in the Netherlands, car trader's cars that have not been licensed officially yet have green license plates. (for making test drives, for instance).
Also its really common to have street sign in Finland with Finnish on the top and Swedish on the bottom. Usually these types of street signs are in or near from cities and villages. Edit: also in Finland street signs can also end in ”katu” ”polku” ”rinne” etc.
Yes, the solid white line is the most common type in Norway. Long dashed edge lines indicate the road is up to 1 meter narrower than the standard width of 7 meters. Green plates signify Company vehicles without back seats and are exempt from sales tax. (It's a flawed idea, I know. Company vehicles often need back seats to transport employees, especially in trades like carpenters, plumbers, and electricians. But that's the situation in Norway for you - a kleptocracy). Bollards are mandatory on Norwegian public roads.
Great video! Another way to differentiate these countries is by signs. Speed limit signs and most other circular or triangular signs are white with a red border in Norway and Denmark, while in Sweden, Finland and Iceland they have a yellow background.
Norwegian here. The green licence plate os only for cars with only front seats. The standard is white, just like most of Europe. Other colors are possible like ambassador cars which will have a blue plate. That will only be in Oslo I think.
Great video and tips again! Another way I use to help identify Finland is that seemingly when it looks Nordic and has gen 2 camera, it seems to be Finland a lot. Of course this isn't foolproof as both Sweden and Norway have gen 2 as well, but it seems like Finland has a lot more of it.
One thing about Sweden is that it is Really common to see the typical red cottages with white corners. It probably appears in some areas of Norway and Finland aswell but typically you are in Sweden when you see it. Great videos! 😊
Ya to be honest I get the 3 mixed up a lot as well, maybe in the future I will make some tips about them but my next tip video will be on Asia :) thanks for watching!
I appreciate it! There will always be someone who wants to feel special and be the only one to dislike it tho! But the support and like/dislike ratio makes me super happy and I really appreciate all the support!
Sweden National highways blue signs one or two digits AND Regional highways blue signs three digits Are generally numbered from SW to NE (road nr 9 and 100 will be found in the SW and 99 and 404 in NE)
In Svalbard, Barentsburg looks TOTALLY different from Longyearbyen. It was a Russian concession and the buildings are all Russian. I took a look at it, and it has two apartment complexes that appear to contain basically all the population, one red and one blue, in the modern Russian "Legoland" style. Three or four smaller buildings are old Soviet ones, maybe from the Stalin area.
Thanks, Great video! But you can actually find big mountains in Sweden and you don't have to be super close to the Norwegian border to find them. Most of the mountain roads in Sweden are small and doesn't have google street view coverage, but some of them do. You can't rule out Sweden just because you see big mountains.
Swedish and Finnish is completely different. I'd reccomend to have a quick look at both languages so you'll know how to differentiate them! Also, Finland is much flatter than Sweden.
When i get Norway, and people guess africa countries doh! when i play i need to find a sign with letters on , i would say the hardest one for me is the balkan area's and spanish/south america ones
The green number plate thing ist wrong! There are lot´s of white norvegian number plates. The green one are for comercial vehicles only. But yes, if you see such a green number plate, it´s a verry strong indicator for Norway
The yellow lines in Finland means that overtaking is forbidden. But those yellow lines are now painted white in Finland too. They started to repaint them just couple of years ago. Just wanted to tell😄
In my opinion it’s time to let Estonia be a nice small Nordic country. Estonia very deserves to be a Nordic country, because Estonia has done a lot of work, we have many smart people, we are good at digital things, we have northern lights and we are very similar to Finland and other Nordic countries like: Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and Greenland. We are not similar to Latvia and Lithuania and the other Eastern Europe countries. It’s time to stop calling Estonia Eastern Europe country and Baltic country and forget all this terrible, rude and mean Soviet times. Let’s just stop this Eastern Europe and Soviet stigma thing and let Estonia turn the new page and let them be a normal small Nordic country next to Sweden and Finland!!! Estonians call themselves the Nordic country and many other people and tourists had also said that Estonia should be a Nordic country, because Estonian people are Finnic people not Balts and we are more similar to Scandinavia. Yes many people had agreed with that Estonia must belong to the Nordic group and seperate from Latvia and Lithuania. They don’t even need these countries, because Estonians communicate more with Finns and other Scandinavian countries. Estonia will be a very good partner for the other Nordic countries. We will do a very great work and we will be very strong!!! ☺️🙏
in Norway, cars with green signs are like storage or work cars while all other cars have white signs

I just wanted to mention the green plate since they are unique to Norway and you do see them fairly often in geoguessr
@@agreedyhobbit7403 Ye, Just expanded on you what you said.
then why does the car with green license plate in this video have 4 doors?
@@snefokk_i_heiene Doesnt mean it has seats at the back
@@Admiralgrusbil sidedoors but no seats? weird. i don't think the green plate has anything to do with number of seats in the car

Appreciate your work mate, very helpful. I’d love a top video to differentiate Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Always get ruined by them.

The roads with a continuous white line on the sides are quite common in Norway. You will find them on roads where the width is larger than 6 meters.
Thanks for the kind words about our bollards. 😃
They are one of the best!
