Superman should have just been classified as a force of nature, and people should behave as such. You don't call a hurricane to show up to court. Just get superman insurance and be prepared to be rescued or killed as a circumstance of whatever villain is fighting him.

Great scene, the way the Senator realises what's about to happen and then Superman glances to his left like he sensed the bomb arming itself. Such an underrated movie.

Maybe the recut is better but when I saw this at the movies I truly thought it would be a great movie, and it should have been, but it was one of the few films I've nearly walked out of ha ha.
Lex baffles me the most, he acts more like Joker than Lex for me, when I read that both were meant to be in it and they merged the characters it made a lot of sense why he wasn't like Lex for me.

No one remembers the Exploding Xavier's school in X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) and Quick silver getting everyone out of exploring building.
Flash is order of magnitude faster than Quicksilver. He's is on a complete different level. In Justice League Superman and flash race and they are edge to edge.

Don't piss in a jar and tell me it's Grandma's peach tea": The peach tea is the hearing which Lex orchestrated. The piss is the bomb. Lex deceived the Senator into the hearing as legitimate when it was really just a ruse for him to blow up the capitol. It was also his revenge on the senator for blocking his import license on the radioactive kryptonite and another way to shed doubt on Superman.

@@anatolydyatlov963 I believe it's because he didn't expect a bomb to be there at all so it would be much harder to act accordingly. It's like when you play basketball with your friends and they decide to pass you the ball, it's much easier to catch it if they signal you in advance than if they don't. Moreover, unlike his cartoon or comic counterparts, this version of superman is much weaker because he's barely started to be a hero and has little to no experience.

My biggest gripe with this scene is once the explosion occurred Superman showed no emotion he was looking so indifferent it was like he was thinking F it.
What a shit movie. Superman would have known the chair was rigged in so many different ways. Smell, x ray vision, hearing, even if the chair was coated in lead which the world didnt know he couldnt see through at that time. Also why does she react so weirdly to the jug? How did she not see that before she sat down? Any normal person would have seen it and been like... "thats weird" and seen the label then turned it.

To me, this scene is so illogical and insulting to Superman's powers. He is very fast in all his senses, analysis spirit and intelligence. He would have seen the beginning of the ignition of the bomb, would grab it and flew with it in the air, and threw it miles away in the space and returned to the court and nobody would have noticed anything as if nothing happened. Do you remember how superman saw flash when they tried to stop him. He is faster than the speed of light.

In a previous scene, lex volunteers to help that character and as a gesture of good faith, he gifts him a brand new chair... Which is made out of lead. Superman cannot see through lead. A very subtle way of showing how much knowledge he has.

Never got he can move at the speed of light basically almost making time stand still. He could off either covered up the explosion or got everyone out like quicksilver in x men who would be a lot slower compared to superman I believe
There are so many different Supermans across multiple mediums with each having their own feats. Snyder Superman has never been shown to even come close to the speed of light in the Snyder movies. In DC, the speedsters have the speed force which allows them to navigate the world beyond super speeds while negating physics (i.e. not hurting others they interact with). Even if Superman was fast enough, he doesn't have that ability.
Quicksilver (like pretty much any superhero in Marvel/DC) has inconsistencies that allows him to "save the day". Saving Magneto from prison, you hear talk about whiplash when hes going not even the speed of sound...but in the mansion scene hes multitudes faster none of that is brought up because that would destroy the plot.

And he lets everyone die. The real Superman would take that item into space with the speed of sound once being in the air, saving everyone. This is totally wrong.
