Okay, just watching the first dungeon has given me a bunch of great tips to make my playthrough easier. Jumping to dodge and using normal attacks for movement and extending jumps will make things more manageable. Those bosses really want you to back up and play a shmup. Thank you for this, you're very good at Ys.
I'm only here to see where the hell to go in the Elderm mountain cave. But I'll def use this as boss guide if needed, I watched a bit of the first Elderm boss and you absolutely annihilated them lol
I swear the first boss always ALWAYS screwed me over with the swords that kind of track you. I can see from your gameplay, that the swords slightly track you and then fly off, but in my gameplay, the tracked the hell out of my Adol. Those damn swords did loopdy loops just to get one or two hits on Adol. I saw nothing like that in your gameplay. I'm guessing it's because I was playing at 90hz/fps? Man that's annoying lol
First time I've seen any Ys speedrunner actually doing it in Inferno difficulty, this right here is actual skill. Very impressive. Best game in the series too.
Hey! Great run! I'm currently on a NM playthrough of this. I noticed that a lot of bosses are trivialized pretty hard by downthrust+fireball. Like Zirduros or Death Faleon. I can't seem to tell if I am doing something wrong though, because I can't quite pull off the combo like I've seen through various videos online. Not sure if its just easier to pull off on MnK or what. From one place I could find online you downthrust and cast at the same time; in my experience you just cast when Adol hits the ground. I was kinda curious to learn it since I wanna do the nightmare boss rush eventually, and thought it'd be helpful. Would really appreciate some input on this.
Thank you! I kind of press the downthrust and fireball keys at the same time at the top of the jump, just after the transition from upthrust to downthrust. The fireball is just slightly faster by a few frames or so. I don't think MnK is easier. It should be possible and same difficulty with any input.

Additionally, your speed runs while impressive and technical. They were really helpful for me to learn for various boss fights. Especially Phase 2 Galbalan. So I really appreciate your effort. My mouse is at 800dpi with this Windows mouse setting. imgur.com/a/ORAhWiV And I assign Boost to S key. I don't recommend the default keyboard setting (Boost to V) because you can't use Boost while charging magic unless you attack with your pinky.
@@kalkidash On PSP, it's only 30fps, so it feels little weird, but it's ok to play since it runs almost consistently at 30fps without much slowdown or lag On Switch, it runs at 60 fps, so it's comparable to PC, load times are rather faster than on PC But sometimes it gets little laggy
You get the double jump in the Abandoned Mine, if that's what you mean. Harumaki seems to combine that with sword slashes to make jumps last longer or advance more.
This right here is a display of absolute skill. Almost maddening to see someone dismantle this game so fast on the hardest difficulty. Great run!

It requires mouse and keyboard.
Just left double click, then attack.

How in the world did you disable the Istersiva 2nd phase?
Holding W key during the battle disables the 2nd phase for some reason.
This glitch only works on the Japanese version.
