Hey Lois!😊 First of all, your English is impressive!👏 I can imagine how much work and effort you must’ve put into getting to this level. Respect, brother!💪 Secondly, I love that you emphasized what it actually takes to get to a very good level of English. I personally don’t agree with people who say that 10-15 minutes per day is enough. We both know that it takes a whole lot more than that, and not everyone is willing to devote those hundreds if not thousands of hours to become an amazing English speaker and use it effortlessly. Not many people realize the price of achieving this goal. I do. That’s why I have such huge respect for everyone who’s gotten to a very advanced level of a foreign language.💪 Great job, man!👍 Keep sharing your experience.😊

As a Japanese person born and raised in Japan, I am excited to see that you also speak Japanese and I am curious to learn more about your language learning method. Thanks for those advices. I'm a French guy currently learning English and I'm applying 2 things that you mentioned in my life in order to be more fluent. I think exposure is the most important step to enhance your level. You have to live your English instead of only learning it. I found your channel recently and I love it. Keep going and thanks again for those tips.
haha, same here. I studied english in School with the absolutely same result. Your pronunciation now though is perfect for my ear! Excellent job! Great video. One thing I've observed when it comes to acquiring a new language from others is the REPETATIVE LISTENING! Such an underrated tip that many "polyglots" on youtube seem to skip yet it is so vital. It even makes sense for us a children that always want to watch the same show or movie or listen to the same song over and over and over to the point they memorize words (I prefer the term 'syllable sequence'). I've also read and watched non-native english speakers who have learned english by watching the same shows and/or episodes over and over and over while supplementing with other new pieces of input. it just makes sense and I've been incorporating that in my language acquisition process (I have a couple of news broadcasts that are always on loop and crazy thing is, after about 2 weeks I started noticing repeating words (syllable sequences). The more I loop the more the 'fast' and 'incomprehensible' speech is starting to become more clear to me. /end rant
my advice is to repeat after the speaker, in live time, for example I watched this video constantly repeating, and I'm sure my brain absorbed a lot of useful things, plus my pronunciation improves, and I will be able to give out sentence words without thinking....
Woww its really motivate me your video. I search a lot of video but when I heard your english accent I like to continue to listen and watch your video. I hope I can do become fluent to speak english too.😊😊
I think it is also about self awareness. People have different kind of intelligence and some are very good at learning languages. On the other hand, some are good at mathematics or psychology. If you know your self you know what method suitable for you. At school , they teach you academic languages. Unfortunately, they are focusing too much on grammar and few hours every months won’t help you be fluency! Put yourself into the environment that forced you to speak. Learn whenever or whatever possible.
After watching your video I am really sure that watching more movies or videos are important to improve our English lesson. Thank you for your helpful explanation.
Thank you for sharing your experiences. I hope i can learn something from this video, improve my comprehensive abilities when I listen to others and maybe help me a lot when I want to talk what I think by my second language .
+ stumble upon something/someone = to discover something by chance, or to meet someone by chance + gravitate towards something/someone = to be attracted by or to move in the direction of something or someone + nowhere near = not close in distance, time, amount, or quality + back in the day = used for talking about a time in the past, usually when you are remembering nice things about that time + the name of the game = the most important part of an activity, or the quality that you most need for that activity + from one day to the next = before each day happens + put in the hours (at work) = to work very hard, often long hours + revolve around someone/something= to have someone or something as the main or most important interest or subject + on the other end of the spectrum
thank you so much for the video, was really helpful,I'm b1 right now and I really like English, the culture around it and my long-term goal is can understand history books
I understand, almost 90 percent of your speech, even though I come from a small nation, and my native language is Yakut. And I need to say that I have noone to talk with, so I'm lacking in speaking practice. I listen to your fluent speaking and I wan to achieve that level that you have, keep doing these videos, they're obviousely very helpful. I'm writing without using any translators, so there can be some odd word usages and mistakes in my writing
if you can understand less than nearly 100% of every single piece of content you listen to (except for academic words ), i don't recommend start speaking now, your competency is not there yet. LISTEN more, more and more. Just consume as much content as you can for a cooker years, while practicing writing, find a way to activate your passive vocab ( writing ) so that when you transition to speaking you're in a better place.
I'm in a level like you,I'm not advanced in general,in the most of test that I took in internet I get b1 or even b2 level(without speaking part,in speaking I'm A2 sure),I can understand most of the video, and some easy books in english, but I'm not confident to speak neither write :(
I do disagree with the above comment. If you have the chance to practice speaking, do so as much as you can and as early as you can. Speaking is a very different skill from writing, reading or comprehension. The earlier you begin practicing it the easier it will be down the line, and it's okay to make mistakes, because that is actually how you learn. Apart from consuming content, if you don't have anyone to practice speaking with, practice your pronunciation - you can record yourself for example.
Hello! As per my perspective,i would like to say that learning only in school isn't sufficient. I had been longing to become as fluent in English as you are.whenever i'd learnt new words, i usually wrote them in books, yet i was not able to speak English courageously and stupendously. Moreover, I didn't have a partner to speak English;for this reason, i had been struggling a lot.The days went on,and fortunately,i got my own phone,As soon as i bought my phone i started searching for such helpful channels in order to enhance my writing & speaking expertise.currently, I'm quite fortunate to have found this channel which will be really helpful to me.on top of that, i also would like to extend my sincere gratitude for your endeavours, assistance, and assiduousness.I am Hoping that i will get constant help from you even in the days to come.May God bless you!!❤❤❤

Great job, Loïs. Your English is "near-native". Your intonations, pronunciation, the way you run your words together, minimal use of natural idioms, and minor grammatical/phonological/syntactic errors do give you away as a non-native speaker. But you should be proud of yourself. Excellent job!
@@loistalagrandI think it’s so extremely slight that if you’re not looking for it you wouldn’t notice it. Everyone has an accent; Americans and British people speak English differently, yet both are valid. I think your English is perfect as is tbh

Thank you for sharing your experiences. I hope i can learn something from this video, improve my comprehensive abilities when I listen to others and maybe help me a lot when I want to talk what I think by my second language .
Yeah I agree with a lot them. Good job my friend
+ stumble upon something/someone = to discover something by chance, or to meet someone by chance
+ gravitate towards something/someone = to be attracted by or to move in the direction of something or someone
+ nowhere near = not close in distance, time, amount, or quality
+ back in the day = used for talking about a time in the past, usually when you are remembering nice things about that time
+ the name of the game = the most important part of an activity, or the quality that you most need for that activity
+ from one day to the next = before each day happens
+ put in the hours (at work) = to work very hard, often long hours
+ revolve around someone/something= to have someone or something as the main or most important interest or subject
+ on the other end of the spectrum
Thanks 😊
The link is so useful.thank you somuch.your great.God bless you
You are welcome
your accent and pronunciation are great
thank you so much for the video, was really helpful,I'm b1 right now and I really like English, the culture around it and my long-term goal is can understand history books
Good luck to you!
Bcz you are a frensh speaker english is so easy for you. Good job man 😊
I understand, almost 90 percent of your speech, even though I come from a small nation, and my native language is Yakut.
@@ShadowZx22thank you for your advice
I wonder why dont we practice speaking together. I’m also not that advanced level but im eager to speak.
Your English is great ❤
Hello!
As per my perspective,i would like to say that learning only in school isn't sufficient. I had been longing to become as fluent in English as you are.whenever i'd learnt new words, i usually wrote them in books, yet i was not able to speak English courageously and stupendously. Moreover, I didn't have a partner to speak English;for this reason, i had been struggling a lot.The days went on,and fortunately,i got my own phone,As soon as i bought my phone i started searching for such helpful channels in order to enhance my writing & speaking expertise.currently, I'm quite fortunate to have found this channel which will be really helpful to me.on top of that, i also would like to extend my sincere gratitude for your endeavours, assistance, and assiduousness.I am Hoping that i will get constant help from you even in the days to come.May God bless you!!❤❤❤
Thanks
Wow for a person that have english like a second language, you speak very well. I agree with you. Watching movies or videos is one of the best ways to improve your fluency in any idiom and i am brazilian .
Thanks!
Thanks U for your advice❤
It helps me
Thanks for a advice
Excelent extra tip 😮
I am French too , and I am agree with you learning languages with schools is very difficult and painful sometimes so thanks you for this video
Thanks for watching!
Thank you very interesting!
Congratulations!
This is the second time that im watching this video. Im actually from a french speaking country, and i was definitely surprised when you said that your native language is French. After that, i forgot to subscribe to your channel, and that pushed me to look desperately for your channel in vain.
Now that I saw it again, I'm never gonna lose it.
Thanks for this video
Where are you from?
Bravo à ton accent parfait!
Great job, Loïs.
Your English is "near-native". Your intonations, pronunciation, the way you run your words together, minimal use of natural idioms, and minor grammatical/phonological/syntactic errors do give you away as a non-native speaker. But you should be proud of yourself. Excellent job!
Thanks! Where do you think I could improve?
@@loistalagrandI think it’s so extremely slight that if you’re not looking for it you wouldn’t notice it. Everyone has an accent; Americans and British people speak English differently, yet both are valid. I think your English is perfect as is tbh
Great video and suggestion.
Thanks!
Amazing !! I thought you were a native English speaker !! Your pronunciation is excellent 👍👍You're such an inspiration, Loïs ! The way you speak English is so natural ! I wish I can be as fluent as you 🙏
Thanks
Outstanding🎉
thanks for helping us
Salut. Thanks for sharing.
I don't understand why all English learning videos focus on the inputs and how to improve them and they ignore the fact that we often struggle with the outputs , I know that the inputs are a very crucial aspect for learning a new language but how do we use this knowledge that we have ?
Thanks for your great video ❤
