The podcasts and audio books will give you hours of content. What you actually just listened to here were extracts from their radio show, which they did before the podcasts, which in my opinion is funnier. The radio show is on a station called XFM and you can find all episodes here on CZcams and there's around 90 of them.
Totally agree.. Even funnier than the pods..
Perfect, God I still piss myself laughing at all them hours of hilarious content by the notorious 3.
Loved your comment mate!
It's maths... as you calculate something using mathematics... you don't calculate something doing mathematic ..
This makes no sense as it is MATH either way. Though I say maths because I'm English .
The word Mathematics was first used in English in 1581, coming from the Latin word Mathematica. Since the -a suffix in Latin denotes a plural, the word was automatically pluralised when translated to English, even though the word itself is always used as a singular.
The abbreviation "Math" came first. The first recorded usage is in 1891. The British abbreviation "Maths" is not recorded until 1911.
You should watch Derek written by Ricky staring Karl very funny
Yep maths in the UK. Because there is more then just one math.
It’s maths… because it is mathematics not mathematic.
Math is a logical option too if Math is short for the plural
It’s maths you muppet 😂
Love your laugh! It makes it even funnier.
Americans say "Math", normal people say "Maths". 😉
Erb, Herb
Not true. Canadians say "math" too, and we're completely normal. It's the Brits who are weird on this.
@@DavidAntrobus yeah but if you spoke english you'd say.. oh hang on
@@itsjoben2910 Sure. I hope no one thinks I'm being entirely serious, though; I'm a dual citizen, so I have a foot in both camps.
@@DavidAntrobus Canadians are Americans.
And nobody said it was exclusive to Americans from the US.
Yep it's maths short for mathematics which makes more sense than math. You ought to react to full episodes of the Ricky Gervais Show
"I'm not avin a go" love ya Brian, you're amazing, I've watched your videos over and over, the learn english one is the best reaction video.
Steve looks like an astronaut who took his helmet off in space
I still love Steve's cameo in The Office
Brutal!
Karl gives it back to Steve.... well he insults poor Steve more than Steve insults him!
Cheers King!
:)
I'd be so mad as Steve for the answering machine thing, especially after Karl has a go.
Why? Karl did pass along the message
@@Wagoo he should have known it was a woman. So ....
Justice for Steve
@@jeezuschryst Karl is always sorting Steve out.. he looks after him. Sorted him out with tickets.. sorted him out lager..
I'm from the North. Karl Pilkington isn't funny. He's right. The man is a genius.
God's country
@@thatsthat2612 Aye, tis, int it?😄👍
Maths is correct as it covers geometry, algebra ,calculus etc ,therefore it’s plural, hope this helps
Math and maths are both abbreviations of mathematics and are both correct. Their popularity and usage differs between cultures, that's all.
@@bluecheese1066 Math is not an abbreviation of mathematic though, is it?
@@seanscanlon9067 Sorry, I'm not sure what you're getting at. From what I can tell, mathematic (without a trailing 's') is a historical alternative to the adjective, mathematical. I was only saying both math and maths are valid abbreviations for mathematics (with a trailing 's').
@@bluecheese1066 I disagree though and think it should always be maths. If you abbreviate a plural word that ends in an S then to me, you should still retain the S.
If I owned a car dealership and bought and sold multiple cars than it would not make sense to call it Sean's Automobile, as that makes it sound like my own car or that I only had one card for sale. So I would call it Sean's Automobiles instead.
If I then gave things a rebranding makeover, I would not go for Sean's Auto but instead choose Sean's Autos.
@@seanscanlon9067 I see where you're coming from with plural words, but mathematics is not a plural word even though at first glance it may appear to be. If it was plural, we would say, "mathematics are hard", but we don't, instead using it as a singular word, ie. "mathematics is hard".
This is just one of the many nuances of the English language, and seen with some other words ending in "ics" such as physics, ethics, linguistics, etc. They look plural but they are actually singular nouns.
Being that mathematics is a singular noun, it can be abbreviated without having to include the "s" or "es" we typically add to abbreviations of plurals. With this in mind, it could be argued "math" is the more logically correct abbreviation, but being that there are no solid rules for abbreviations, both "math" and "maths" are valid due to their widespread usage.
Hello from Nicosia Cyprus...
Proper English is maths, in America, it's different, math I think.
Finally!!
It's math when American's say it, maths in British-English... it doesn't really matter just gotta make sure to use the right one in whatever professional context (not sure when it would come up in that context though! lol)
Math, maths, the proper way to say it is mathematics.
So then maths is just that little bit less proper than math.
Mathematics is a plural because there are several mathematic processes under that umbrella term. The same way we say physics and not physic
I was thinking there was a tractor sale on somewhere pmsl
It's Matts.... definitely, no lies
5:06 - 5:55 Karl DONE Steve there!!! Proper!
You've not seen or heard the podcasts?!?!?
Dude, hit pause in your life and settle down for some of the funniest hours of your life. The animated podcasts might just be the best content out there.
I'm jealous....you have some seriously funny times ahead of you. I'd love to hear them all for the first time again.
Here....some quick highlights

We say Maths in the uk not Math. You should find the XFM radio shows these three did. They are on CZcams I listen to them every now and again. The clips you are listening to on this video are all from these shows, and we’re the inspiration for their podcasts that then got turned into the Ricky gervais show
We would say Maths
In England it’s Maths 👍 you Yanks bastardised it to Math 😉 much love keep up the channel it’s great
Here in Canada we say "Math" too. We never say "Maths". So it's not just an American thing.
I've heard it said a few times in the UK, 'you do the math'. I don't know if there's anything special about that phrase, or if it's just a coincidence that the word math is used on that occasion. It could be that sometimes we use math, but by far the most common is maths.
They've bastardised all sorts and they'd spell it bastardized cos thats another thing they get wrong.
Al-u-min-i-um. Does my swede, that one.
@@rossmacintosh5652 Canada is part of America though.

Maths in the UK, King Bloomer

Math vs Maths? Someone find a link to the Jimmy Carr explanation.
'Maths' - Short for 'Mathematics'
Steve cant take it but tries to give it
Most if not all these ones are from the xfm radio show, rather than the podcast fyi 👍
We say maths.
Maths because its short for Mathematics.
Alrite mate, you should mine the Ricky Gervais show all the series and episodes. cheers
I'm a mullet, can't quit weed and alcohol 🤪 one day. Going for day 1 tomorrow. As we all say lol
It's both, depending on whether you're using British English or American English. It's also supremely unimportant.
People tend to think whatever they were brought up to use is the correct version. However you can make arguments for both and it doesn't really matter. Both American English and British English are not particularly consistent in the way they shorten words or conjugate different word forms.
Live and let live and don't get your knickers in a twist, or your panties in a bunch over anything so trivial.
American English 😂
Well said 👍
Chris M, indeed
@@bassmanjapan1729 it's a dialect of English, like Australian English, or Canadian English for example. They've all evolved away from the mother tongue as it were.
It's still maths.
Karl is legend 😂😂REEeeeeeeeeeee
Maths you sound funny saying Math
Honestly Karl is just wrong when he says "I don't understand why anyone would want you to do voice over", because Steve voices Wheatley in Portal 2 and that has to be one of the funniest video game characters I've ever heard
That's right boomer it's maths not math
Ricky gervaise is a comedy legend cos his comedy is average it is very funny but what separates him from comedians to become a legend is giving the world the office tv show and Karl pilkington
Maths ... mathematics.
Please react to Jimmy Carr. I'd love to see your reactions on him. :)
Maths. Mathematics is plural. You can't get just one mathematic
Its maths!
Maths .. in the uk
It is Maths
If you come to the UK, it's a good idea not to start calling everyone a muppet. On the flip side, an American coming to the UK and calling random people on the streets muppets, would actually make golden video content. 🤣
Don’t give me any dangerous ideas lol
@@KingBoomer, Just wear a stab-proof vest, you'll be fine. 😱😄

It may be time to consider other options for the channel . You've far too many views not to be earning your fair rewards.
Genuinely
PROPER ENGLISH IS MATHS
MathS... mathematicS.
*Grammatically correct is "Maths". It is Not: - lets to the Math. It is: Lets do the Maths.*
*"Adjective" - Words that describe a Thing: = 'Mathematics' / "Pluralism's" are doing Words and or process of an action: = 'Maths' / "Noun" is a Word or Abbreviated Word describing the singular, or outcome of an action: = Math / So in conclusion, saying :- "Lets do the Math", is the same as saying "lets do the outcome", not the process. To say:- Lets do the Maths. Is an action to do the Process.*
Right bunch of muppits
Maths is short for mathematics. The word isn't mathematic.
Actually i voted for Boomerang.
These guys are constantly ripping the shit out of Karl but when he pushes back just a little they collapse like a house of cards. It's funny, but not always for the reason they think.

It is maths. I tried telling Americans that before and they were much ruder than you was calling us muppets at the start ya muppet.
Alright, after maybe a dozen years I've got to give my "2 cents" somewhere. Now I know It's all exaggerated piss taking, but I've never gotten the constant "round headed" shit, surely Ricky's head is more rounded, especially more recently as he's getting fatter? Also, are you actually a Doctor Who fan too or are you just aware of Davros?
