As a Texas native, I am so homesick for my state of birth after seeing this! You did amazing! Even using the base game kitchen cabinet is true to how Texas kitchens looked when I was growing up lol.
oh, don't worry about accurately representing all of texas, nothing on god's good green earth could accurately replicate the eldritch madness inflicting experience that is driving on urban texas highways.
sincerely, a former texan who still isn't quite right in the head from growing up on those highways.
Texan here! Love the build! We do have our own power grid but it is awful and alot of people died during an ice/snow storm cause the grid could not handle it and we had no power.
And the government at the time had voted not to correct the weather issues with the grid prior to that.
@@tiffanymoore3182 That's horrible. Sorry to hear that.
may your situation get better, fight on for a better life !
I know it’s not a state but it has to be included, Washington DC is so unique and couldn’t be left out, maybe a bonus video?
But what world would you build a DC style home in? I feel like this would be a job for after For Rent is released so she can make rowhouses.
I think Willow Creek would easily work. DC *is* swampland and no I’m not talking about the politicians. It’s actually very marshy and humid…and that’s coming from someone who lives in coastal Georgia 😅
You should do Kentucky next! It could be a more victorian estate/ have a more hoity toity horse area instead of a ranch for the Derby!
i agree! i’m from kentucky and would love to see her do something like this!!
I’m from and live in texas. It’s really horrible that we have our own power grid!! You should look into the push back on this from native Texans! Our “governor” is heinous!!!!
Great build tho :)
I feel like you did good hitting all the bullet points in Texan design. The home I grew up in had a lot more Mexican style decorations than western/south western decorations, but I am from a largely Mexican city. As far as a west Texas or even a Texas hill country area ranch house, you did a fantastic job. You get my Texan seal of approval, and poptarts. :)
i'm from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and I would love to see a wintery build in Granite Falls as there are a TON of trees and waterfalls where I lived. I feel whenever people think of Michigan their first thought is Detroit but the U.P. is like a whole other world that most people forget about (there's also a lot of history there)
Yes! I'm from the Detroit area and the U.P is like a different state. I love it there ❤
I'm grew up in a tiny town in Michigan, near a beach and as much as we're known for winter, we have lovely summers and falls. I never had the chance to see the UP. But I think a UP build could also be a bonus video like Washington DC. Hopefully someday I get to see it.
This Texan can tell you that YES! you did Texas proud. I love this build. ❤ Poptarts.... hahaha
If you haven’t done New York yet, you could do NYC-inspired apartments in the penthouse lots of San Myshuno and do both at once.
Also, poptarts ❤
Arkansas would look great in Moonwood Mill. ❤️ Forestry is a major industry where I grew up. Also, downtown Copperdale looks like rural Arkansas towns
As a native Texan growing up in Fort Worth and Houston. You did a fantastic job on this build and your research is spot on. ❤
Edit: Poptarts !🎉 btw any fellow Texans of mine HEB has a really good Poptart.. spot on to the original Poptarts!
I miss HEB
I'm a historian, so I am loving your history lessons! You sound like you really do your research. :)
Texas resident here!! I’d like to note our state flower is the bluebonnet and in the summer/spring they cover everything including the highway medians. Idk if it was just me but I feel like most kids are told it’s illegal to pick them but I just looked it up and that is not true. Haha POPTARTS!!
My husband was in the airforce he was in bootcamp in San Antonio. Then we went to Kansas. Tornadoes came all the time. They don't bother me now. But I would love to see Tennessee. I live in East Tennessee. This is beautiful btw.
I think as a build suggestion a retirement home would be amazing with the new pack coming up. Maybe in Willow Creek? I feel like the vibes are there. Maybe one of the old estates was bought and repurposed to a retirement home.
I'm currently working on an old boarding house turned into student rentals!
The exterior looks so much like my dads house in Northern New Mexico, but the inside? The Inside is ALL Texas! The colors, the style, the base game cabinets, the cowplant skulls…it’s all perfect!
The Texas facts were super interesting too, especially the one about Six Flags. Who knew it was such a historical name?
Also, poptarts!
Pop tarts 😂 - i loove those long detailed builds without any restrictions 😍😍 so fun and inspiring!
I love this series! I would love to see a Hawaii inspired build in the world of Sulani or some of the more obscure (to me) states like the Dakotas, Iowa, Missouri or Delaware and Maryland.
I absolutely LOVE this series! I was wondering if you'd ever go back and change the older builds that you made 5 years ago since a lot has changed and we have so much more build/buy items. Looking forward to the rest! ❤
Texas girl here, born and raised! Tejas is pronouced Tey hos just fyi. I know many struggle with that one. I am actually in a suburb of Houston. The rodeo is still a big deal! Poptarts!!
I love pop tarts! Almost as much as watching your state builds ❤
I love this series. I don't know a lot about the States since I'm from Europe and it's so interesting to learn from them.
Would you consider doing something similar with other countries style houses? I know you're still tackling this project which is huge but yeah I just wanted to ask for the future 😊
Poptarts! 🎉
Also, I have only visited Texas a couple of times but I think you did a fantastic job. This is one of my favorite builds of yours; it’s really beautiful!!!
Omg, you've got to hold out on California for the new expansion pack, that pack is perfect for cali and dont you just love poptarts 😁
When you do California, I hope that it will be a San Francisco inspired build. There are so many gorgeous, historical buildings there and it could also fit nicely with the new For Rent pack coming out!
I love this. I actually live in Amarillo Texas lol. And hearing someone from new England say the name is funny. But it's cool that you shout out my home town!! I got the chance to live in Lowell Massachusetts for 6 months so I'm sure I would have sounded funny saying the names of the towns up there😅😅😅
And also for your fun facts the panhandle of Texas gets pretty cold we get hit with those artic blasts all the time because of how flat we are but it is a hit or miss. You'll have a Christmas where it's 85° but then another one that's -10°
thanks for the building! I'm loving your channel!
Poptarts? Okey dokey... So, you asked about bedside tables. In our house, there are lamps on all the bedside tables. I have had a lamp on my nightstand since I was at least 4 years old. Always. Our guest room has them too. I wouldn't know what else to put on a nightstand, well, except for an alarm clock and a pile of clutter. I know alarm clocks aren't used much by younger people, but I still use mine. In game, I always place a candle, so I can use auto lights but leave the candle on, so there is always some light on in the room during the day, without it adding to the bills and eco-footprint. A regular lamp goes on the other nightstand.
Your build turned out beautifully. It's all homey and cozy. For some reason it's giving off familiar vibes, like homes I've been in before. Maybe it's just a western living aesthetic? Anyway, it seems like some place I could easily come across so, job well done. I live in Washington, but ranch houses are a thing here too, as are wide open spaces. Love this series. Look forward to the next one!
im from Texas and there is def tons of modern homes but when it comes to like the culture this nails it. it def is what western texas looks like
also i dont live in a really big tornado area and i havent lived through a big tornado and its terrifying but everyone jokes about how we dont care we will just walk outside and look at it lol
I'm not from Texas, but my dad's family is! I was waiting for you to mention that Texas is one of three states that has a state bat! Texas and Oklahoma share the Mexican Free-Tailed Bat, and Virginia has the Virginia Big-Eared Bat! I mention this because 1, I love bats, and 2, Austin Texas has one of the largest migrating colony of bats in America, and they gather under a bridge in the middle of the city in the summer! It's become a huge tourist attraction, and hundreds of people every year gather to see them come out at night!
Anyway, speaking of Virginia, I'm from there originally, but I moved across the country to Washington a few months ago! It's been super fun, but now that I'm home in VA for thanksgiving, it's made me miss my home state! I'd really love to see you tackle a Virginia home sometime soon!
YEEEEEEE HAWWWWWWW!!! 🤠 I’m from the Austin area but this…this feels like the Hill Country and I love it 😂❤
I do have bedside table lamps, when I was younger I had a bookcase headboard so I had a headboard lamp and no bedside table. I use it for reading before I go to sleep - my light switch has always been on the other side of the room and the overhead is very bright, so at night, I turn off the overhead, and use the soft bedside lamp for my nighttime routine until I am ready to go to sleep. Poptarts. I love the laundry set-up - the clothes storage pieces fit so seamlessly with the counters and it really all looks like a laundry room built in.
Pop tarts!
Love this! Lived in texas all my life. Seen many many houses like this.
I really enjoy this series because as someone from outside of the US I learn a lot about the culture and memorize the states!
It's fun to remember that every country is like that, every country has states with stories and cultures so unique! If you ever tackle this series with other countries I would love seeing you go over Brazilian states and builds. Sending much love! Loved this build, is exactly how I imagine Texans houses.
I love this series! As a german, I've never been to the US unfortunately, but I love to see all those interesting and sometimes quirky homes, its a lot of fun to me 🤩🤭 Oh and poptarts! 😉
I’ve always had a bedside table lamp irl cause I like to read and wind down at night.
I love this build! The kitchen island is great. This series is a lot of fun. I always learn something new! Pop tarts!
Pop tarts are delicious! This build turned out really nice (also loved the shoutout to Shella).
Pop tarts. And I think this is my favorite build you’ve done so far. It is so beautiful, so spot on Texas. You out the star on the wall and I was like yup…. Done. That coffee table trick…. Amazing. I want to buy horse ranch just for this house haha. That weird kitchen island thing is soooo popular in Texas. Nailed it!
poptarts :P this is beautiful!!!!!! my bf is from texas, and you really captured some gorgeous homey vibes in this. your use of colour and the fun geometric patterns + mix of walls was so pleasant to look at
I've never been to Texas, but the build is so beautiful. BTW, when you get to Montana, I recommend building in either Moonwood Mill or in Granet falls both match the state perfectly at least on the western side of Montana.
Silent viewer here… I have to say I love this build! I’m always amazed with your builds & like to place them in my worlds. I typically just move a random sim in them, but I would absolutely love to play in this house! I just don’t have the horse pack yet lol
I do have a bedside table lamp, and I use it all the time- I prefer it to my top light because I can turn it off from my bed. I also pretty much always add them to my Sims builds because I like the way the lighting looks when you add extra lights at different heights around the room
POPTARTS. Lol. I agree with other Texans here, this made me feel so nostalgic and homesick for Texas! This is beautiful and you did great capturing the characteristics of Texas homes. This one reminded me of my papaw's house. ❤❤️
Patiently waiting on an Alabama trailer park lol
New jersey would look great in either Copperdale or Newcrest! Love this build, poptarts!
Hiiii!! Long time lurker here! POPTARTS!! I watch your videos during times when i need a little peace, get my mind off things and usually i don’t comment but today your words touched me. When I first saw the video I thought “yes a long video of a state build!” Today I needed to check out.. I recently got into a life shattering car accident where my partner and I lost our camper, truck and 2 cats. We’ve been traveling for the last year with her nursing contracts and were on our way home for the holidays when it happened. It has been a heartbreaking 6 days. We spent today unpacking what we were able to save at her parents and I needed something to have to distract my thoughts and this video was perfect! Thank you for the long video, the cool facts and awesome build! I’m excited for more state builds!
Also I’m from Louisiana and we get tornadoes, it never stops being scary! And I think they are the coolest weather system ever!!
I love this series! And I can’t wait for you to get to Oklahoma
This series is my favourite. It combines my love for history, architecture, the Sims and of course your videos ❤
Thank you for doing Texas! I love this series after enjoying the one you did for zodiacs. Yes, I have a bed side table. No, I barely use it. It is there for decoration that I thrifted. It is an easy clutter piece when building is my excuse.
I have bedside lamps. I used to use them all the time. My old apartment didn’t have ceiling lights in the bedroom. The place I’m in now does so I use them less often.
Poptarts!
Also, I can’t wait until you do Arkansas. About 90% of the state is exactly what you would imagine Arkansas to be: fields, cows, more fields, a farm. I live in the Northwest part of it which is where Walmart was born. A lot more modern and just totally different. One of our downtowns is exactly how you’d imagine Stars Hollow, except with more people and more money. Love this series and your videos! ❤
Born in Texas, moved away when I was 26. I think you got it right. It is such a big and varied state it would be hard to do all the styles in one build. Great job, and poptarts.
Poptarts! There is a cold hardy prickly pear that ranges as far north as Delaware and New Jersey. It grows in dry microclimates and really likes sandy well draining soil. Their fruit and flowers are yellow unlike the Texan plant. You can find it on natural dunes near beach plum trees and in the poor soil of pine forests. People often don't treat them well thinking they're invasive, but they're not.
Thoughts on worlds for various states: NJ, DE, and MD match pretty well with Evergreen Harbor. PA and Upstate NY and the inland parts of New England are Copperdale.
(Pop tarts) I grew up in Texas! You definitely hit the nail on the head in terms of popular style, especially all of the woods and muted earthy tones-Texas is either city or desert and not a whole lot in between 😅 I will say, Texas didn’t get cold when I was living there, but after we moved away in 2009, climate change had a hay day and it actually gets pretty cold there now-so cold in fact, that the very power grid you mentioned failed during an ice storm a few years ago and a lot of people died due to lack of heat/power. Yikes 😩
Anyway, loved hearing about all of the facts! You did well to make the outside of the house rock, because yeah basically every house is brick and rock due to them tornadoes 😆
With For Rent coming out it would be a PERFECT time to do townhouses in Chicago, Illinois! The architecture in our city is absolutely gorgeous. Especially the older homes!
Love! Could you do Georgia? Savannah GA has some absolutely incredible homes.
That kitchen only needs a toaster to make some poptarts!
I love this build!
Pop-tarts!
I love this series, I really appreciate how educational it is at the same time as fun! 😊
I’m new to building in the sims, and I love your videos. I was wondering if you could make a video about how to use the cheats bar, moving objects, building floor plans, and just all around working through the sims as someone new to building. Or, haha, if you have a video recommendation instead. I love your videos, you’re amazing!!❤️
wishing you the best with all your builds 🎉❤
I’m genuinely aghast. You really haven’t been here? 😂 This is incredibly accurate - I’ve been inside each of these rooms, honestly. I’m blown away! The entertainment center and gargantuan tv? 😚👌 the only thing missing is a garage fridge for the drinks 🤌 Exceptionally well done!
Fun Fact: El Paso is closer to California than it is to Dallas!
Also, the speed limit here is taken as a suggestion most of the time. 😂 Not that they don’t trust us with insane speeds- I was recently on a 2 lane country highway with a 75mph speed limit. I didn’t go faster than 50 and that still felt like I was in Mario Kart! Poptart! ☺️
Poptarts.
I love this! As a Texan, that garage with the roof attached to the house is so on point for more pricey homes, especially with land like this build, and the doors for it, yup yup correct xD. The limestone all over the place is sooooo nostalgic and love the prickly pear cactuses. Those are kept like they're pets. Only item that screams Texas that I would have included is the lantern from Horse Ranch with the Lone Star swatch. I've legit seen those all over the place. Def looks like a ranchstyle hill country house. Well done!
I can't wait for you to get to Virginia. We have so many different styles of buildings here. Poptarts!
It is interesting that Texas has its own power grid, but it isn't so great, they lost power when it got colder than normal for Texas
north texas, ft worth , Dallas the Texas Panhandle gets snow .. in fact, it will be impacted by the blizzard that is up coming .. Southern Texas is rare for it to freeze and snow.. I live in Galveston Tx and we did get into the single digits when we had that Artic blast ..
This build is absolutely gorgeous!!
(Also, poptarts
POPTART!!!!!! I absolutely love this build. I would love to see a build representing North Carolina. I’m born and raised in NC, it would be really cool to see. You should either build it in Copperdale or Granite Falls. 🧡
I would love to see Michigan! I visit my Aunt’s house in Michigan every Christmas so this could definitely be a Christmas build!! ❤️💚 (poptarts!!)
I would love to see ski condos like the ones in Colorado. I think they would go perfect in the lots near the komorebi mountain. The horse ranch pack would be great for decorating since Colorado mountain style is very similar to desert ranch style (at least from my untrained eye) and the new for rent pack will make them functional 🤩 so excited to see your builds with the new pack!!! (POPTARTS)
1. Pop tarts
2. I do have a lamp on my bedside table (you would love it, it's built with fake bones), but I only include them in my builds if it helps with the lighting and aesthetic of the room.
3. So excited for For Rent!
4. When you build intentional dead space (like the little bump you build into bathrooms sometimes), why do you raise the floor up in the dead space? I've seen you do this a lot but not sure I've heard you explain why.
5. Fantastic build as always!!
My youngest was able to go to the capitol building on a field trip end of last year. They got to go in the hidden passages and he has a ton of fun.
Also pop tarts.
this was such a gorgeous build! i can't even imagine working with such a large lot AND encapsulating texas well but you did a great job!!
Poptarts! I love your builds and it's lovely to know that you're a fellow New Englander. I also had an attached mirror on my little dresser & headboard set growing up, so thanks for that memory.
Pop-tarts!
I really like these videos. I truly enjoy learning new facts and appreciate the research you do to make this happen. Also I do have a lamp on my bed side table and it is the only light in that room, so it in fact gets used -- but if I had an overhead light in that room, it likely wouldn't get used.
You would be very surprised about how cold it gets here. In the far north part of texas (the panhandle as its called) It can get below 0 for days. We seem to be in just the right spot to get arctic cold dropping on top of us every winter.
Poptarts!!
I love these builds! I grew up in Louisiana and now live in Texas. I’ve also lived in Virginia, South Carolina, Wisconsin and Arizona so I’d love to see all of those states in your builds.
poptarts! i love this build! i’m always so excited when you upload a new video :)))
Poptarts, I do use the lamp next to my bed daily but I don't always add them to my builds.
Poptarts! I'd love to see Oklahoma eventually, but maybe more a focus on a bigger city in the state since most people I've interacted with can be pretty ignorant about my home state (I've been asked if I lived in a teepee and even in texas people were shocked we had larger cities 😢)! As for your tornado question, they were surprisingly less scary as a kid before I understood how destructive they could be. Now as an adult, I'm constantly worried when we get to tornado season.
i’m from oklahoma (right above texas) and tornadoes are such a common occurrence that i’ve become a part of that stereotype of dads standing on the front porch watching the storm lol
Pop tarts! Also one of my art friends was from Texas and the tornado warnings were scary!
You're amazing! You always surprise me with your builds ideas. And I love hear you talking about literally anything , so pop tarts! 💙
Poptart! This video was so much fun. Thanks for all of your hard work Tonya❤
I love this series so much. Thank you for continuing!
Poptarts 🎉
Poptarts! We love watching your videos, and state builds especially! ❤
Poptart! Just love all your buildings that you created, and I really like to hear facts from USA states! Thanks for sharing!
Poptart - its an amazing build!! I always love your builds
Poptarts. This house is lovely. Looking forward to adding it to my library when I hop in game next.
I really enjoy your builds. And I love your videos,POPTARTS.
I love your videos so much ❤ I watch your videos to chill out and sometimes help me sleep, not saying you’re boring but relaxing 😌 also I’ve only had one pop tart in my life 😂 had to tie in the pop tart somehow to show I watched till the end 😂❤
Poptarts! Great build as always, Tonya!
Poptarts! I love that series so much! And really appreciated about all the infos and creativity. 😊 Lots of love from Turkey!
Pop tarts! lol. You did such a great job on this build! I am hoping you do my state soon, Iowa!!!
I love the individual detail you put in your builds. Only discovered you recently but your content is already one of my favourites! My daughter would love to be able to build like you (me as well 😅) Poptarts!
Loved this build, I love hearing all the facts about the US as a Brit 😂 Hawaii next!
Love the build, and yes i love this building series.Poptarts.
POPTARTS!!! i loved this seriesss! I'm not american so that's my way of knowing a little more thank you so muchhh
poptarts! im not sure if youve done kansas yet but i nominate kansas! kansas has a ton of fun facts: they have the worlds largest ball of twine, coranado hights is a "castle" built at the furthest point that coranado explored (if i remember correctly), halloween as we know it today was invented in kansas, and there is a large population of swedish in kansas as the terrian and climate line up closely with sweden so the immigrants were able to continue using the knowledge they had to thrive in the area! amelia erheart is from kansas, the sally house which is a world famous house for being haunted is in the same town that amelia erheart is from. im sure i could keep going lol
The rainbow row townhomes for SC would be amazing with the new pack coming out!
And poptarts!
Poptarts! Watching/listening while sewing xmas gifts!
