The max speed of an electrostar is said to be around 120mph put of passenger service, meaning they could probably be geared down to be faster to 100mph in theory, which is absolutely wild!!
Dunno, the 357s are faster to higher speeds as seen In this video, and could probably be modified to get to 110mph without complications without the need for all the added bulk of the 387s, maybe that's why? I have no idea The 387s weigh around 174 tons per 4 car unit Whereas the 357s weigh approximately 157 tons making them the lightest 4 car 100mph electrostars around . That's around 17 tons lighter In addition to that they have an older version of the traction systems than a 387 too but are generally quicker. 44 seconds to 60mph from this particular unit (357 not 387) Maybe the 387s had High maintainence costs ?? Idk why. The 387s aren't bad units at all , their pretty nice and fresh aren't they? I do think the c2s lines should be upgraded to 100+ mph.
@@Solomon_C yes, 720s would I'd think. they do tend to make a weird rattling sound when they shake though. Kinda odd. And the door tracks bend when you touch them with your foot. Im talking about the rails that the doors glide on..kind of concerning that they are "soft".

I honestly don't know why the c2c network max speed is 75mph like honestly they should increase higher than 85mph
NAW the network is capable for 100 so idk why they do this
