He has been in McLaren for 4 years and he expected to be prioritized. But things don't work that way.
I feel for him as well. And it makes sense in a way. But it's up to him really. If he keeps working hard,as he has been throughout the whole season, I'm sure he will earn it eventually.

I am mostly impressed with how Danny Ric withstood all the pressure out front for the whole race with faster cars behind. Seemed to thrive on pressure. Not many can do that.
If McLaren nail the aero philosophy going into the new regulations, then this team will be a force to be reckoned with. There's a great experienced driver, a great younger driver, a boss who has a long-term vision and the respect of his people, a principal who knows how to bring out the best of his teams, and a group of people at seemingly every level who really gel well and are all highly skilled in their expertises. Not to say that other teams don't have this, but McLaren DEFINITELY has all the pieces to be a powerhouse in the future.
I always said the same thing, if things hits the stride, and Daniel can get more confidence into this car, I reckon Daniel will win his first WDC in 2022 and Lando in following seasons to come

I do find it interesting how the grid (outside of Merc of course ;) seem to really like Max. Lando and he are mates but even danny ric who raced with him is still good friends. You don't see that often with the best in the sport which seems to be a lonely path for others (Lewis, Michael, Senna etc..)

@@hankrearden5460 yup..even tho the media try to twist it.. in reality Max is close to most of the grid..He is friends with all his teammates (Perez, Gasly, Sainz, Albon, especially Danny) him and Lando are great friends, him and George are friendly as well, Leclerc when asked who is he friends with said Gasly, Max and Lando..even older drivers like Alonso and Seb (and other teams) support him this year..
We will see how the time goes by but it is interesting how close he is with everyone

Zack Brown and Andreas Seidl truly brought this team back from the disappointment it was, and there couldn't be 2 better drivers on the grid to bring this team back to the top of the championship. Can't really express how happy I am that my team is back to the top again... thank you McLaren for never giving up

Believe it or not, but there are people out there who don't blindly hate everything besides their favorite team, this person most likely was italian and therefore grew up with Ferrari, so obviously, she has a Ferrari shirt, that doesn't mean that she can't support and like other drivers / teams, and this is exactly the reason why she got Lando to sign on a Ferrari shirt, she likes Ferrari, but she also likes Lando too, it really is that simple. Basically it's only the fans who create some kind of conflict between the teams, but most of them actually get along pretty well, stop creating conflicts in your mind buddy. Also, where did Landos old teammate go after McLaren? Think about it.

We never lost the faith. So proud to be a lifelong, 52 year old McLaren fan. What a journey it’s been. Take it to Ferrari this season and next year let’s go for the big ones. And by the way, you made a grown man cry, that was an emotional one. Mansour’s up there in the big circuit in the sky with James, Nikki, Ayrton and Bruce raising a glass, or a hat in celebration. And arguing about the Lewis Max crash.
I just rewatched this and I literally cried. It’s so great to see them like this, I miss it. The energy here was so incredible, I hope we get to experience it again at McLaren even tho it won’t be the same without Daniel :( , I’m so exited to one day see Lando on the top step too.I hope we can end this season on a high note (btw congrats to Dan in Mexico!!)

This is THE BEST insider video I have ever watched of F1 in my 40 years of following F1. I watched this race at 2am in New Zealand and was ecstatic when our team won 1st and 2nd place. Barely kept awake at work the next day 😂. This video was such a beautiful view of life on the F1 road and this unbelievable win for McLaren. I feel almost as emotional as some of the pit crew in the video watching this. What a thrill it would be to one day get to see McLaren live again. Its certainly on my bucket list. Well done to everyone at McLaren who so deservedly put together this winning race. May you have many many more.

Congrats Daniel! This is why I love McLaren, they are out there having fun. The whole team laughing getting exited and coming together as one big family.
This brings back memories working for Flying Lizard Motorsport and when we got 3rd at the 24hrs. Actually when we got in a groove and everything clicked and we started wining a few here and there back in the States. I’ll never forget the smiles on everyone’s faces.
This result for these guys will push everyone harder, there nothing better in racing than the high you get from a 1st place finish. Well done boys and girls.
