@JK golden I've always found it interesting that people make the assumption that childhood is fun or easier than being an adult. Many kids, through no fault of their own, have crappy childhoods and very little control over their lives. By the time they become of age, they are screwed up because of the years of trauma they had to endure.

Absolutely amazing, but I have the same concerns. Med School and Grad School are wildly different from any other form of education. I am 100% confident that she will pass the pre clinical coursework with flying colors, but I am concerned about how she will do in the clinical environment at that age. I don't know if any 15 year old would be capable of telling someone they are dying or parents that would be comfortable with someone their child's age treating their child or how you could understand the conditions that would drive someone to addiction with no life experience. I really wish her the best, but it might be better if she does an MD PhD route and focus on research for 4 - 6 years between her pre clinical and clinical training.

Too many bitter Betties up in this b. What makes you think she won't be able to do it? Have you been the one walking this life for her? She clearly has a strong support system and I'm sure she and her mother and her career advisor must have gone through some of what she can expect going into the medical field. It's like like she is the first to have entered med school at such a young age. So what's your problem with her doing it? So, what do you suggest? That she remain in a class that is age appropriate and be bored out of her mind and just be wasting away? Y'all can't even help yourselves.

Depending on the school system, local education laws, and possibly the school itself, she may have been homeschooled by private tutors, or part of a specialized program/organization for exceptionally talented youth. Her advanced educational intelligence was likely recognized when she was a small child, possibly before elementary school, and then confirmed through rigorous testing to determine her relative grade level performance. Congrats! to this young lady and her village for nurturing the gifts God gave her to help others. I knew I wanted to be an MD from the age of 12yrs and entered Med School at age 20. I had a wonderful journey and retired as a Pediatrician after over 30years of practice treating patients with Developmental Disabilities. Now my daughter has followed suit and is a Pediatrician and Neuro researcher at Johns Hopkins University. She was never encouraged to pursue Medicine and only became interested after her second year of college. I credit much prayer and God leading her to what is now her passion.

Man, her parents did it RIGHT! Good job parents! Children don't just have this type of drive and even if they do... they need supportive parents to run them around and support them (which requires carving out time in their own lives to make this possible). Her parents set her up for success and she is clearly succeeding.

Yes she’s truly blessed to be born to great parents who nurtured her potential so she could self actualize early in life. Unfortunately many children with just as much potential don’t have the support. Some are able to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Some will be late bloomers. Others may never make it sadly. This 13 year old has had wonderful family support. Her parents have obviously invested in her.

Im proud of you girl, keep up the good work and listen parents her mother supported and nurtered her interest and gift, take notes. Many parents today discourage kids before they encourage them and that is a nail in the coffin for a child self esteem
