      @@retalmiyy6023 to make it short: it's about Kanye and the Kardashions ruining her reputation and all the media hating on Taylor, so it really hurt her mental health and she was hiding for a whole year only to came back and use what they said about her (like the snake thing) and used it for herself. It was iconic and still is. Especially since later the unedited version of the infamous phone call proved that Taylor was saying the truth all along.

    I would argue that reputation is one of the best albums in her discography for JUST the story behind it and the full context! Production wise it’s very experimental and that’s why everyone loves it so much (it’s personally one my favorites) but if you want songwriting and more deep cuts Folklore and Evermore are for sure the best albums for that

      Makes me so happy to see more men being introduced to Taylor, whether it be from their girlfriends, the internet, the eras tour, or just pure curiosity. It does make me sad however that many men who support Taylor or listen to her music are shamed or judged. I’ve noticed this with the men in my life. My boyfriend of 5 years was not a Taylor fan and was kind of on the bandwagon most men were on about how she’s just an annoying pop star with radio hits about her exes. He ended up coming to the Eras tour with me and is now a full swiftie, even though there is stigma around it. My brother who is 12, is also a swiftie and I have seen that he tends to not be as vocal about it as his friends/peers judge him for this. I told him to embrace what he likes and it does not matter what other people think or say about it, now he collects her vinyls and posters in his room on full display and blasts her music proudly. Good for you for not being affected by others and liking what you like. And your English was just fine, well done :)

    Reputation Lore alert!!
    Reputation was actually one of the biggest comebacks ever by an artist in the music industry. Idk if u r aware but Kanye West (with Kim Kardashian) had a long feud with Taylor and that led to Taylor being hated by literally the whole internet. She has a documentary talking about it and that time in her life. # fucktaylorswift was trending in twitter worldwide, while hate for Taylor was being spread by Kanye, with highlight one of his concerts where him and all of his fans were shouting "Fuck Taylor Swift". She went on a hiatus, nobody saw her anywhere for a whole year. Until she came back with "Look what u made me do" and everyone went mad. Ppl loved it, especially her fans, seeing how badly she was treated everywhere and finally she had broken her silence. This whole album is, basically, her coming back stronger than ever (which is maybe the reason why the sound in this record is darker than her usual stuff), while simultaneously falling madly in love with a person that ended up being her partner for 7 tears! Thats why this album and era is dear to all swifties, and i assure u, everyone loved it at that time and they still do, years later.

  • @alesaccount92
    @alesaccount92 Před 5 měsíci +24

    We went insaaaaaane when this came out. It was THE come back. She pretty much saved herself from being exiled from the music industry. It was a middle finger for everyone who crossed her. And it has aged like fine wine because it is one of our favourite “eras.” Each TS album is an era, btw.
    And this was her second pop album, it came out after 1989.

    The live performance and music videos for Reputation are iconic. Since you've already reacted to the songs, you don't need to react to these videos, but you really ought to at least see them:
    Reputation Stadium Tour movie: intro + "ready for it?"
    czcams.com/video/2QJaf6qq8jQ/video.html
    Ready For It? (music video)

    Don't Blame Me - Taylor Swift • Reputation Tour
    czcams.com/video/seOJleBbf-U/video.html
    Also, there is a million hours worth of Tay-lore floating around on the internet and a lot of it is essential to life. Since you liked the "rat-ta-ta-ta-tatya in "I Did Something Bad" I will offer this as an example. (I suggest starting around the 4:00 mark if you want to go straight to the awesome stuff.)
    Taylor Swift NOW: The Making Of A Song (I Did Something Bad)

    Reputation is different. It was her feeling exiled, persecuted, judged, yet vulnerable and no longer caring. Letting those toxic people that hurt her go. Finding love again.we were all here and supportive and couldn’t wait to hear what she had to say however she wanted to say it. That’s the thing with Swifties, we have loved and supported her through it all. We don’t care the genre or the style,we just want to hear what she does next.

    I forgot to leave my thoughts about when Reputation first came out, the song "Look What You Made Me Do" was a shock, but after watching the MV and reading the comments, it came together what it was about, the tilted stage, Kanye performed on a tilted stage, and of course, at the very end of the video there are all the Taylors from previous MV and performances in line and one said "what's with that b!tch" and the reply was "don't call me that" the lyric in Kanye's song Famous "I made that b!tch famous" all came together. All the love songs are of her boyfriend Joe Alwyn, a British actor, he was with her from Reputation, Lover, folklore, evermore and Midnights, so she was with the same guy for over 6 years. It kind of irked me when you kept saying she dated a lot of men. If a man does it, nothing is said. The reality is she has only dated about 12 guys and has had her heart broken too, at the age of 34, 12 is not that bad. Anyway, Reputation has aged well and is my favorite album.

    Hahah it's funny what you said about her songwriting, she definitely went more light breeze with some lyrics on this album, but she had her definitive singer-songwriter albums years back with RED, where she does incredible storytelling and lyricism and incredible catchy melodies. Before that she did speak now composing alone. It's fair that you took it like: look at his face, but is her being just fun, because this girl not only can compose a melody/music that would stuck in your head forever but she does incredible lyricism.

    I'd been a long-term Taylor fan by the time Rep came out, and I was so excited for it. And then I hated it like I've rarely hated music before in my life and didn't listen to it again for about 3 years. Still listened to everything else, but I just could not get past. When I did eventually come back to it at a different stage in my life, I didn't immediately like it exactly, but I didn't viscerally hate it that time around and I started letting the songs play when they came up in playlists. Now, it features some of my all time fave Taylor songs, so I definitely think it aged very well

    "Some of these songs are about my life, some of these songs are about fictional characters that I created, but my hope in all of this at the end of the day, these songs will be songs that you think are about your life and that you feel genuinely are about your own life." "These songs were once about my life. They are now about yours." Both TayTat quotes. You are absolutely correct that the songs are up to your interpretation and meaning to you. SOME swifties act like you absolutely HAVE to know the 'lore' to appreciate her music and they are wrong.

    I really hope you can react to her album called Lover.. I mean it is almost Valentine’s Day and would make perfect sense right🤪? Anyways End Game literally makes sense to be about Travis it’s like she was manifesting him back then and didn’t know it yet. I really enjoy watching the longer videos love to see your reaction and interpretation of each song 👍

    Her live performances of "Don't Blame Me" hit even HARDER than the track. Both from Rep Tour and Eras Tour. But the Eras Tour one transitions into "Look What You Made Me Do" and it's sooooo freaking epic!!!

    "and i bury hatchets but i keep maps of where I put em" in endgame song is such a creative way of saying "I forgive but I never forget".
    And reputation is considered her weakest in songwriting and lyrically? Yeah maybe. But lyrics on reputation are still soo cool if you know the context behind this album. No generic pop songs will have such lyrics imo.
    I recommend you to watch Reputation tour performances, it enhances the songs 100% and visually tell the story of this album.

    If you love midnights like I do, I would really like to see your reactions to the extra songs on the midnights 3am version. There are 7 songs, and they are amazing! Plus the song called “Losing Me” is also an extra sonf…and it’s heartbreaking and worth the listen. So total of 8 songs! You will love them, they really add to my love of midnights.

    well deluxe songs from taylor is not the same as from other artists i would say though, they are as great songs as standard version songs, it’s just too many songs and she put them on different editions, especially 3am edition of Midnights

    Thought you might enjoy seeing the making of "I Did Something Bad" and the "ratatatatata" sound. There's a whole series of these - of her writing & producing Reputation. Swifties would probably love it if you reacted to the whole thing ijs. I'm very curious to see what you'll think of Folklore/Evermore. Her best written albums imo.

    I recommend listening to Folklore albume (original or Long pond session). It’s a lot slower but amazing lyrics and voice (most of them are imaginary stories not about her life).
    My tears ricochet- it’s assumed (by her fans) to be about her old music label that stole her music
    Cardigan - August -Betty are 3 songs about an imaginary love triangle (each from a different pov)

    For me I loved this album and cant wait for the re release Taylors version. The Reputation Live Tour is kick a**. I call it her Revenge Tour since it deals with the media, Kanye West, Kim Kardashion and the haters. So she reinvented herself and was like go ahead and light me up. She flipped the tables and used it to her advantage. You should listen to her live Reputation Tour. Also her Folklore long pond sessions in her studio. Stay safe❤

    so yeah first half is vigilante shit but more aggressive sonically, and the album turns into a love album. not really on my top 5 but this record is something that really is a worth visiting to if you’re gonna dive into her discography.
    i gotta say this is the weakest album lyrically but getaway car is the only song here that reminds me of her classic story-telling, vividly pictured style of songwriting which makes it a real standout to the record. probably even one of the best pop songs she has ever made.

    Her reputation with men has always rubbed me the wrong way, considering she was dating the same guy for all of her last 5 albums including this one.

    • @bulletsandbracelets4140
      @bulletsandbracelets4140 Před 4 měsíci +3

      not that it's justified still, but in fairness to when this album came out, that wasn't the case. Still bugs me how much of a double standard there was for her back then, but I think her reputation with men is different now. It's not so much that she "goes through guys" but that she writes songs based on her life experiences and romantic feelings. But when this album came out, there was WAY more speculation on her dating life because she'd jumped around more. Not an unreasonable amount, don't get me wrong. Just more than she has in these past years.
      Less of a problem of "she doesn't deserve this because it isn't true" and more "no one deserves this because why the hell do people care so much" lol

    It’s fine to listen to the OGs, don’t let the more extreme swifties convince you otherwise; sometimes the rerecordings are great, some are a little botched.
    Also, she has writing credits on every song, so she always makes money. And she’s a billionaire. She’ll be ok.
    Vaults are worth checking out, mostly its clear why they’ve been cut but there’s some incredible ones. The Red vault has gems.

      @user-mz2ne4yh2t Před 3 měsíci +1

      Saaaaame, they don't understand that the re-recordings are a side project, she's reclaiming her songs but she still makes money off the originals, plus, she has failed to capture all the emotions of the OGs, TVs just don't hit the same whether they want to accept it or not

    “Taylor Swift” (aka Debut), “Fearless” and “Speak Now” are all country. Then during “Red” she started going a bit to pop. So that album is part country, part pop. 1989, Reputation and Lover are pop. Folklore and Evermore are more of a folk type albums. Then she went back to pop for midnights.
