I spent a week on holiday in North Yorkshire last week. A beautiful part of the world and I holiday in the UK regularly. But even I almost had enough of the awful weather and nearly left early to travel home. There was not a single minute of sunshine for 6 consecutive days and it was wet and cold - max temp of 17C and sometimes 13c on the coast. I can now understand why people fly to Spain to get guaranteed 30C+. I thought it would have been a desperate week for anyone with kids on holiday. Please let's enjoy these meagre scrapings of heat and sun (and we haven't had a cloudless day this summer yet).

Thanks Mark, great vid. Way too hot for me today. I love the cooler summers, so I've been very happy so far. Can't understand why people like it hot and humid 🥵??? Horses for courses I guess!!

@@Glory3823 thought I was the odd one out, but glad you agree. If people aren't happy with the UK weather id suggest that they go and live in Greece for three months and stop moaning about our incredible, varied weather. Just subscribed btw👍

But in Yorkshire we have had a July in which the average daytime temperature so far has been barely 17C we had a whole week of cloud last week and temperatures around 15C. My central heating came on in the morning during the first ten days, so I think to have one day in the year that we call hot is perfectly fair because the rest of the year has been miserable.

We are all different I cannot understand how people don't like it warm to hot 25c to 30c.

26.1 c is currently not bad for the North east coast although not beaten last year's max yet .

28c at East Midlands Airport and 29c Loughborough. It is so sad that by tomorrow we are going to be covered in cloud 22c and by Sunday back to a bone chilling 19c which is two below average. If the temperature stayed between 24c and 26c that would be nice and summer like. The UK Summer is 9 times out of ten very disappointing. .

“Far cry” isn’t the best way to characterise the temperature extreme today. 32° is just not normal for the UK climate and dangerous for all of us with health conditions and the elderly as air conditioning isn’t really a thing here. The tropical nights also do not provide any relief. Most hospitals don’t even have air conditioning. And what happens when we smash the 2022 record? Regard 40° as a ‘far cry’ from 45° ? Time to go - I’m in hell right now in Hertfordshire.

32C is and nearly always has been the average warmest day in a year. Even in the 1970s 30C was the typical hottest day of the year in the Midlands and South. Deaths during cold spells exceed any rise during warm weather by many times over - that is why in England the fewest deaths occur in the summer and by far the most in Winter.

I have long term health conditions and 32c suits me well, it helps me with my pain. The winter and Autumn exacerbate my health conditions.

We get at least a week or two in the mid 30s every summer in the southeast, but I agree with the rest of your comment
