Great opportunity!
For sure! Thanks for watching.
Hell of a lot of work ahead but will be well worth it
Yes, but we are up to it and have a really great team!
I was stationed at NAS Alameda back in the early 90's. I applaud you and the guys to restoring the building. 73's de KE8PHJ
Thanks for sharing, that is great! We are looking forward in getting it fully operational!
Thats cool that such an interesting peace of history is being preserved.
Thank you.
It really is. Thanks for watching!
Looking forward to more workday vids at the tower. That place is fascinating.
Thank You!
Great project! US75,000 in 1952 equates to US$766,000 today.
Thanks! Oh no kidding, yeah inflation is terrible.
Awesome project.
OMG! What a fantastic project! I wanna visit there someday!!!! Good luck!
Thanks! It is a ton of fun to climb to the top.
@@HamRadioTV reminds me of the equipment/ and towers at the refinery.
Glad to see you all are smart enough to realize what a great resource you have, and are motivated enough to turn it back to some other than a pickle park. I will be watching as the days go by. Seems like a lot of Kilz and paint maybe needed. The chain hoist is a real gem just by itself!
Thanks! haha "pickle plant"! We hope to put some digital modes up there too so more people will be able to transmit out of this location.
lot of work ahead, but it looks like fun!
Yes, for sure but the pay off will be great!
@@HamRadioTV keep the videos coming, looking forward to see the progress.
Nice...........
Thanks!
We ought to meet up. I live up there. Didn’t know you guys were doing that, my bud is a HAM enthusiast and showed me this channel.
This looks like a fun project. I did some microwave link antennas and repeater installations up there when I worked for Delta Communications in the 70s. I hope it can be secured properly.
Very cool project, looking forward to seeing the progress.
Looks like there was a Wullenweber or some other DF array at that Middletown site
Awesome, this gonna be neat to watch! Let the good times roll!
Good luck with the project, ZL1UTH
Thanks!
I am excited to follow you all on this Journey to restore the tower. Keep up the good work! KI5QQM
Thank you! Will do!
I wondered what that was last time I was up there
Yup, it really is the best location on the ridge up there.
This place needs some converted AM broadcast rigs to match the scale of the tower .. KC8ZUL
haha, for sure! We hope to fill it with all sorts of cool gear once it's secured. The HF noise floor in that location is nice and low too.
Depending on my days off with my new job, please put me on the list of Mt Vaca minions. More than happy to help.
Ok buddy, we'll be in touch!
Nice. Have fun with the project! de AK6Y
Thanks! Will do!
I wanna move in! Like a lighthouse keeper! If that is a possibility let me know.
haha I was thinking the same think. Starlink and I'd never leave
I like that you save the music for the end.
@@kn6jhtradio943 PAY for internet at that HAAT? Find all you want! Hope you guys put in some serious Hamnet or whatever is cool there!
haha, that is funny! It would defiantly help with the vandals.
Internet connectivity is on the top of the list. We are also looking into AREDN too.
How about some Ring cameras up there to keep an eye on it... KN6TBL
That would definitely help. We have been thinking of ways to beam internet up there from our houses in the city below, then cameras like that will become a great option.
The relevant question for me is, what's a "chode"..?
Any plans for the N6CMB Fusion repeater?
What's up buddy! That is up to Bobby but we will for sure have room for it!
So what happened. Why did you guys stop?
Love that background bass/organ music. Can you share the artist? KB6QEW
Thanks. This comes from the CZcams audio library. The song is called Elevators Need Rock Too by Spence.
I’m assuming this is private property?
lowk very sad to see this place get trashed the past 3 years once a great spot and now it’s just a dump :(
